Just a fun little game and to see what everyone would mark out for...
I would mark out if during Hogan and Ortons match at Summerslam Orton no sells all of Hogans 3 moves and makes Hogan look worse then HBK did to him last year. And I would also mark out if he went for the big boot and broke his hip.

I would mark out if; Chris Jericho came back, if Hulk Hogan was banned from ever appearing on television again, if The Rock had some kind of normal role on WWE television, if Eric Young got a main event push, if Eric Young won the NWA World Title, if Eric Young was the one to end Samoa Joe's streak, or if CM Punk failed the drug test (I like him, but I would love to throw it in some of y'all's faces).

See, that's not even a legit argument, either. If he was still a hiphop twit the way he was in the early-mid nineties, I'd have to agree with you. But if you notice, his look is basically just "trendy cool" nowadays. And not the oppressive, uncomfortable Hollister/A&F phony fuck kind of "trendy", either.
He appears to be just...himself. Just give him a tag partner that ppl can believe in, and give him an actual chance, or do as I suggested way back, and make a serious S2H vs. Gregory Helms feud. It'd be gold from the get-go.

HE still really is playing the same role, just with less emphasis on hip-hop. It's more a mutation of character similar to Cena than playing himself, IMO. But to make him successful, or even remotely not a joke, I think they need to pull him away from this S2H days. It doesn't even take much to do so, but as long as he's Scotty, I don't think anyone will ever buy him as a winner.

Honestly, I think its gotten to the point where a gimmick change really won't make any difference for his career. The fans, in my opinion have seen him for far too long doing the cheesy shtick he does to embrace anything else from him.
Now having said that of course, he'll make a heel turn, come out as an annoying, street talking, hip-hop media mogul and win the title.
