Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0205000/) star Rob Schneider (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001705/) is the first actor to publicly announce he will never work with Mel Gibson (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000154/) due to the anti-Semitic remarks he made when he was arrested last Friday. Schneider took out an ad in Hollywood trade paper Variety slamming the star for his behavior in "An Open Letter to the Hollywood Community." The ad appeared yesterday and said, "I, Rob Schneider (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001705/), a 1/2 Jew, pledge from this day forth to never work with Mel Gibson-actor-director-producer-and anti-Semite." Schneider then went on to say even if he were offered the lead role in Passion Of The Christ 2 or a "juicy voice-over role in his new flick Apocalypto (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472043/) and spoke ancient Mayan" he would still turn them down. He also repeatedly praised Hollywood talent manager Bernie Brillstein (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0109401/) for publicly saying he would refuse to work with Gibson because "I just don't like bigots." The actor continued by saying he had recently directed a film called Big Stan (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0490086/) in which there was a part for a Nazi gang leader "which apparently Mel would be perfect for." Schneider said he would still not cast Gibson in that role and ended the letter by saying, "Of course that would only be after I talked with my financial backers. Some of whom share Mr. Gibson's hankering for a good bottle of tequila. Because, after all...I don't get to call all the shots."

Yeah, the thing I find most amusing is that it seems like Rob Schneider is the only actor who is trying to get anything out of this.
I expected at least a gaggle of Wayanses(sp whatever) on this before him.

I'd love to see someone rip the piss out of Mel. A comedian, for comedy's sake. I don't buy into this whole "his career is over" bullshit, nor do I think it should end it. However, it'd be funny to see someone Jewish and funny, of which Rob is apparently half of one, jump on this in a playful sense.
John Stewart's kinda been doing it, but mostly, he's had fun with the way the news had been announced.
I'm betting most folks will have more taste and ignore it, though.

Schneider only works in Adam Sandler movies, anyway. I have a theory that Schneider did something huge for Sandler a long time ago and Sandler is keeping him around and putting him movies as a thank you. Like Schneider saved his life, or found him the script to Billy Madison, or got him his break on SNL.
A quick search of IMBD shows that since Schneider was in The Waterboy in 1998, that 14 of the 16 movies he's been in since that have either been produced by Sandler's HappyMadison production company, or a movie in which Sandler was staring. Does anyone else find this really odd? I mean they are friends, but he always seem to have something for Schneider. There has to be more to this story.
Regardless, Mel Gibson isn't losing sleep worrying about having to find someone to work with other than Rob Schneider.

I only saw Punch-Drunk Love once and wasn't really into it. I guess I'd have to watch it a second time to "get it" cause a lot of people love it.
