Since this is my first post, I figured I'd talk about Foley/Flair. Do you guys think it's time for Flair to hang up the boots? Also, since Foley's turn, his promos have been 10X better than before. Opinions?

"Yes", and "I agree".

Welcome aboard.

Flair should've hung it up when WCW folded, honestly. He's been past his prime for quite some time now.

Lets see, Flair's 57. Normally, wrestlers hang 'em up around 40ish. So lets say, Flair's been past his prime since 1989. Good lord.

I'm hoping Flair injures himself for good(same with Hogan) so he finally retires. Sometimes it can take something like that for a guy like Flair to give up wrestling.

I was in kindergarten then. I'm entering my fourth year of college now. Yikes.

A plane crash didn't keep the guy down. What will it take?

Good point, didn't think of that. Though he is a lot older now so it might take a lot less to permanently(sp?) injure him.

Cut off his medicaid.

Lets face it, the only way Flair's staying down is if he breaks his back.

Wait...

I bet if you shoot him in the face....

If you punch Flair in the face... he'll flop, he'll do the job, but he'll get right back up.

Oh come on, am I the only one that'll give Ric Flair credit for what he has done and how long he's been able to get a reaction from the fans?
You don't see Jerry Lawlyer in the ring too often, and you don't see Michael P.S. Hayes putting on his boots. Bob Backlund could at least do play by play if he wanted to. Hell, even JBL and The Rock called it quits when they still had years of good wrestling in them.
Ric Flair has outlasted so many trends in wrestling. The nWo, Hulkamania, The Wolfpac, DeGenration X, ECW (not this WWECW or ECWWE crap), The Powers That Be... You name anything in the history of modern wrestling and Ric Flair said it best...

Ric Flair bores the fuck out of me now, so why should I give him any credit? He's pissing on his own career by staying around aslong as he has and jobbing so much.

There's a difference between sticking around a hurting your legacy and sticking around because you've still got it. Flair doesn't have anything anymore. Except a speech impediment.

Flair is supposedly in serious debt.

But isn't that what life insurance is for?

Nope. Coors beer didn't work on him during the "plane ride from hell". Or did it?

I told a friend a couple weeks back Ric Flair was gonna die in the ring. As morbid as it is, I wouldn't doubt if it was at least partially true.

I wouldn't doubt if that's what he actually wants. To go out with a bang.

Isn't Ric Flair just wrestling because he has a shit ton of debts to pay off?

It explains it, but I still don't like it.

Flair is done. It's horrible watching him in the ring. Between WWE and TNA, sometimes it really does feel like WWF vs. WCW back in the late 90's.

TNA has all sorts of young, fresh talent coming up, while WWE is still pushing hackneyed old-draws like HBK, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, and worst of all, Vince McMahon himself.

Much in the same way that WCW was still pushing Hogan, Nash, Flair, Macho Man, Sting and Roddy Piper when it was time for a new age.

It's funny that you say he's been past his prime since 1989. Many would argue that was one of his best, if not his best, year with his series of matches with Ricky Steamboat and Terry Funk.

At least HBK is still good in the ring, but I do agree with what you've said.

He's also a TNA fan, so...

Michaels should really be part of the initiative to build new talent anyway. One day, Trips and Angle and HBK won't be around, and if they don't build anyone up, they'll have no stars at all. However, I'm not opposed to him being on top, as both a phenomenal talent and a big name. They just need to be running with big names at the same time that they build up new talent.
