That instead of going to my friends house to watch him play some RPG game on super-nintendo, I satyed home to watch the last game of the first ever WNBA finals. I thought that it would be cool to tell my kids that yeah, I saw the first ever championship on TV and look at what it's turned into now!
Should have played video games now that I think about it.

I would like to get into the WNBA somewhat, but I can't. Two women from my school that I covered during the year got drafted, and I tried to follow them. And Simione Augustus has been tearing it up for the last place Lynx, but it just doesn't have it. The gameplay is worse than in college, as is the atmosphere. I don't get why leagues like that don't just give away 10,000 tickets per game, get people into the stands at least.

WNBA is probably bigger here than anywhere else in the US, because Sue Bird is a babe and Lauren Jackson was like the MVP. I went to a game once, pretty boring. I'd still nail Sue Bird though

Prob only the non-dyke in the league. Seattle Storm would probably beat the Seattle Sonics, sadly

Yeah Sue Bird is pretty hot, I remember back from the UConn days. I think there is few other hot girls (like 2 or 3) in the WNBA but I can't remember who they are

Yeah isn't she like 7 feet tall though? That'd freak me out
I really don't know how the WNBA makes any money, I really don't even think it does. I think the only reason it is still around is because it is under the NBA umbrella. I don't see how the WNBA could really profit anything. Break even maybe? Still though I don't know, maybe theres a big turn outs at the games by "Strong Independant Women" or something but I never see anything about it on TV.

I think the WNBA is afarid to promote the hot players due to the "strong independant woman" fanbase they have would get upset, plus the front office people are probably butch dyke lesbians :y:

The WNBA doesn't make money, the NBA pays their bills.

We watched a video about this, and it is true, the hardcore WNBA fans are like lesbian and feminist groups, so they are trying not to alienate them by changing the marketing strategy.
What I think is that it is really just too poor of gameplay.

Not be a sexist or anything, but women sports are just not nearly as exciting as mens. What did you expect when it came to the WNBA? Most girls prefer watching men sports. Minus tennis, what women's sport is worth watching? MAYBE golf but golf is ubber boring to watch either way.

When women's basketball is played at a high level, such as the later rounds of the NCAA Tournament, it is fun to watch. The WNBA is a mess because they have too many non-talented big women (just like the NBA, go figure) who clog up and slow down the game. They have also basically made no reason for people to watch the games because they haven't given us any players to follow. They are out there, we know the Diana Taurasi and Lisa Leslies, but why should we watch them? They can do better.
In terms of all womens sports, that is simply not true either. At the highest level, a lot of womens sports are just as exciting as the mens. I am thinking of Olympic hockey, WWC soccer and NCAA Final Four. Then there are sports like volleyball. Because our basketball team sucked last year, volleyball was arguably the second most popular sport, drawing nearly 10,000 fans to one game, and it's because it was fun to watch and the players identified with our school. So it's not impossible, you just have to put out a good product and give us players to identify with.

There's no way you can compare Womens Olympic hockey to mens. But you are right, women's sports can be fun to watch, but men sports are almost always better.

Oh yeah, I am just saying that when the women's hockey players play at the top level, it can be entertaining because it is a different style of game. Like the WNBA is a different style, except the WNBA is just bad quality.
