According to Mike Johnson...

Mike Johnson reports that AJ Styles was busted open very badly at last night's iMPACT! tapings and needed 8 stiches to close the wound.

Johnson also reports that the planned main event for the No Surrender PPV is a non title fan lumberjack match featuring Samoa Joe vs Jeff Jarrett. Also Sting vs Jarrett will be the main event of Bound for Glory and at this time Sting is scheduled to go over.

Johnson reports as well that Sirelda is most likley done with TNA for now but may be brought back later.

Lastly Johnson reports that Hernandez signed a 3 year written deal with TNA last night.

.....................

I thought Joe was to main event BFG and win the title? What a crock of shit.

Oh man, I hope some fans get injured or injure one of the wrestlers and TNA gets sued for millions.

Just stating the obvious here.

I'm glad they're not pulling the trigger on Joe's eventual title run, but a "fan" lumberjack match? Thats just fucking retarded.

I don't like Jarrett as the champ, but Sting is a much worse alternative. Keep the belt on Jarrett until Joe wins it from him.

08-15-2006, 06:21 PM
yea they need to have joe win the belt from sting on the oct ppv, let sting take it from jeff, on the next ppv then keep joe a heel to take it from sting at the 1st ppv outside of the impact zone.

Joe needs to be a babyface champ.

Unless they are getting Goldberg.

Wow. I hope this shit isn't accurate, because a fan lumberjack match just sounds fucking awful.

St. Jimmy

Not just awful, also the most idiotic and ill-concieved wrestling match ever devised. It's a insurance debacle waiting to happen.

according to what i heard it's supposed to be a fans bring the weapons match

In that case jarret will probably be taken out of the main event scene after that.

You obviously never saw Judy Bagwell on a Pole or Viagra on a Pole.

I wouldn't worry about it being an "insurance debacle" because no wrestling company is stupid enough to actually let fans and wrestlers fight each other. They would be plants, which is actually somehow more lame than if they were real fans.

A fans bring the weapons match sounds slightly better. But Joe vs. Jarrett? This means one of two things: 1) Jarrett ends Joe's undefeated streak, which would be about the worst move they could make right now, or 2) Joe wins the NWA Title and defends it at Bound for Glory.

We'll have to wait and see. But fuck. They can do better than this.

That is so fucking stupid! Why can't TNA get their heads straight? Booking to Jarrett vs. Samoa Joe and Sting vs. Christian Cage as main events for Bound For Glory was so fucking obvious.

No Surrender could have easily been something like:

-Jeff Jarrett vs. Rhino for the NWA Title
-Samoa Joe vs. Abyss vs. Monty Brown in a #1 Contender's Match
-Senshi vs. Petey Williams
-The LAX vs. AJ & CD vs. The Naturals vs. Bentley & Kazarian in an Ultimate X Match
-Christian Cage vs. Scott Steiner
-Chris Harris vs. James Storm
-Chris Sabin & Eric Young vs. Alex Shelley & Johnny Devine

Simple card which can be used to build directly to Bound For Glory.

-Sabin & Young beat Shelley & Devine.
-Storm beats Harris when Gail Kim sides with Storm.
-Steiner beats Cage when Sting costs Cage the match.
-The LAX retain the titles when the new guy TNA is bringing into the stable comes out and cleans house.
-Senshi beats Petey Williams.
-Samoa Joe becomes #1 Contender.
-Jarrett manages to beat Rhino.

Bound For Glory would then look something like this:

-Jeff Jarrett vs. Samoa Joe for the NWA Title
-Sting vs. Christian Cage in a #1 Contender's Match
-Senshi vs. Jay Lethal
-The LAX vs. Chris Sabin & Eric Young
-Rhino vs. Monty Brown
-Abyss vs. Brother Runt
-James Storm & Gail Kim vs. Chris Harris & Sirelda
-Some kind of Gauntlet Match

Some of your booking is horribly flawed.

Why would Sting help Scott Steiner, the man who came to TNA to beat his ass, defeat Christian Cage?

Why would Christian face Scott Steiner at No Surrender after he turned heel two nights ago?

People align themselves with bitter enemies all the time. It's called pro wrestling. If you're calling nonsense on that, I've got to ask what you've been watching in the wrestling world, because it sure wasn't WWE/WCW/TNA./

Decent budget or not, they wouldn't make it too big. The average fan in America doesn't care about technically sound wrestling, they don't care about the sport. Obviously, they care about Divas getting wet.

When I read about the fan lumberjack for some reason I thought it involved fans, as in the machines.

It would seem less stupid since it would be good for cooling the wrestlers. It made perfect sence since it's a hot summer.

Okay, but Scott Steiner (heel) vs. Christian Cage (heel) doesn't make sense in the first place.

On top of that, Sting coming to help Steiner beat Christian makes even less sense. These are two guys he doesn't like; why not let them beat the shit out of each other? Or even more so, why wouldn't he come down and cause a double DQ after punking them both with a baseball bat?

Why the fuck would he help Steiner, who came to TNA to kill Sting, beat Christian?

Now, Sting helping Rhino or Ron Killings defeat Christian would make more sense.

Dorkchop

Cage explained it very well on Impact. I guess I should say spoiler:

Christian said that he was there to help Sting, and he was. He gave Sting two opporitunities to pin Jarrett, but Sting couldn't get the job done. That's why he turned on Sting.

Because the Christian Cage vs. Sting feud should be more personal than a "heel vs. face" thing. TNA fans are in the habit of cheering almost everybody, so I doubt they will be anti-Christian for long.

Cage and Steiner have a feud going on, Steiner and Cage face each other at the PPV, Sting who is gone since Hard Justice comes back, cracks a baseball bat over Christian's head, lets Steiner embarass him.

This also gives Steiner a big PPV win, something which he hasn't gotten many of since debuting. Tenay and West can point out that Steiner and Sting hate each other, which highlights the hatred he much have for Christian Cage.

I really think TNA should get rid of the whole face-heel dynamic, and just let characters be characters. Cage vs. Sting could be classic, but it may be ruined by an indecisive crowd in a decisive feud.

I respect your creative ability Alienoid, but seriously, no.

Why keep Sting off TV for a week? It's already been proven that he draws the biggest ratings. Why they don't make him the focus of the shows is beyond me (or beyond Jarrett, more likely). Sure it might make for an exciting moment at the PPV when he returns, but who cares if nobody is hyped enough to buy the PPV? The way to hype the PPV is to build up their best character.

Cage/Sting will be a classic, but it's going to be heel vs. face, just like it's always been in professional wrestling. Sure the actual wrestling might still be good without it, but the drama isn't there. That's the only thing WWE does right from time to time: drama + good wrestling = awesome matches.

But it doesn't matter, because they're not going that direction anyways, and I admit that your ideas are definitely better than what they're rumored to be doing now.

St. Jimmy
08-18-2006, 02:45 AM
TNA isn't about Ratings. They're about flippy-clotheslines and unbelieveable shoulder-block finishers. Besides, we all know the ratings chain of command for TNA: Jarrett, Nash, Nash's Quad, Joe, Joe's Ass, Cage, Dutt, then Sting.
