I was watching E4 an hour or so ago (between 5 and 6) and if your British you'll know that during breaks E4 does that thing where its a short 10 second animation that ends with the E4 logo. Anyway during one in which a kitten is dragged into a puddle that becomes the E4 logo it had the Shooting Gallery music (http://zeldafn.com/download/music/oot/22_Shooting_Gallery.mp3) from OoT. I thought that was property of Nintendo.
Anyway, Ever heard music from videogames in something other than a game?

Soudns like old organ grinder/circus music. May not be owned by anyone.

Yeah, I know but it was written by Koji Kondo so I think it would be owned by nintendo.
The reason I think it may have been used is because the animations are made by viewers and then sent to E4, maybe thats how it ended up on tv.

Are you sure about that?
Not to harp on it, but I can't think of any game music I've seen on TV, besides in ads for the games, or places where it was licensed...

Yeah you said that 3 times before.
I dunno about music but the scream you hear on the Timesplitters games when a man or woman catches fire is used alot on TV shows about emergancies or disasters. The same with the origonal GTA police radio being used on shows about car chases. Although there likely not owned by anyone.
