From Wrestlezone...

At Monday night's triple Impact tapings in Orlando, former NWA champion Ron "The Truth" Killings and Monty Brown requested their releases from TNA. Terry Taylor tried to convince both to remain with the company, and at this point, nothing has been decided reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Brown's contract is set to expire soon, and he works as a personal trainer outside the wrestling business. As noted here before, WWE would certainly be interested if he became a free agent.

Killings would have options as well, as "The Truth" is over in Mexico and is wanted by AAA and Vampiro's new promotion, Revolution X Wrestling. There is also a rumor that WWE may consider bringing back Too Cool (Scotty Too Hotty and Brian Lawler), and would entertain the possibility of Killings joining the group. Killings isn't being pushed in TNA, and is upset that he was asked to job to A1 at a recent television taping.
----------------------------------------

I haven't seen TNA in so long, so this doesn't mean much to me. I did find it interesting that WWE wants to bring back Too Cool. Didn't they bring back Lawler twice, and released him both times?

Ron Killings has really grown to be a good talent since his "K-Kwik" days. They should push him more.

"WHAT'S UP!"

Yeah Lawler is the new Hall. They'll sign ya back 100 times, and you'll fuck it up somehow 101 times.

As for Brown being released, fine. He isn't a draw. He is over pushed and he STILL isn't over after years of squash matches. Factor in he can't do a real match, and he has nothing to offer. TNA is being drug down by him IMO.

As for Killings, he is fucking over. He is treated like shit and the TNA sMARKS still eat him up. He has the charisma, and certainly the look, not to mention that magical "x-factor" (no not Pac, Train and Credible) that gets people over. He is terrible on the mic, but damn we are getting back into an era were managers are used all the time...or people just don't have a mouth peice. As long as he dances and does his shitty "What's Up!" thingy he will continue to get over. TNA has a huge star in the making...in WWE he will get a better check, but will get lost in the shuffle.

Truthfully, this is bad news for Killings. He wouldn't get a push in WWE past mid-card level, and he's a very talented athlete. I've always been kind of markish for him, even though I hate his character. I just love watching the guy go.

Ironically enough, Too Cool is this weeks RTTT. I wonder if WWE actually reads that thread. >_>

Bringing back Too Cool is a terrible idea. Simple as

Why wold they bring back II Cool? Why do they hate Killing enough to put him in it?

I can't stand Monty Brown, so good riddance to him. I'm sure that I'll see him on WWE television soon enough, though. I also not too torn up about Killings being released. He's pretty exciting in the ring, but his mic skills are abysmal and I just can't get into what he's portraying.

The worst of this, however, is the possible reformation of Too Cool. Is that a joke? WWE can't be serious with that one. DX returns, the Hardy Boyz are probably going to get back together, and now Too Cool? When do I get to see the Oddities again?

No, I recall those being the lyrics as well. I had just totally forgot about it, and remembered it is terrible.

I like Monty, but it's more for the way his retarded promos make me laugh. He's like the Boogeyman, only funny.

LOL, "Gonna move some things". WTF?

Before he got into wrestling, Ron Killings worked for a moving and storage company. He uses those lyrics to remind himself of his roots.

they should have got rid of brown a long time ago, wwe may figure out what to do with him, maby they will let him tag with khali. on ron tna never figured out out how to use him they give him the main belt twice, then after 3 live crew brakes up it looks like they have no story for him.

Anybody Thrilla

Why would you think to put Monty Brown and The Great Khali in a tag team?

thats something the wwe like to do after they are finished pushing wrestlers they love putting them in tag teams then they fire them.

Can you even imagine the promos that these guys would cut?

Brown: I'm the Alpha Male! I come from the Serengeti! POOOOUUUUNNNCCCEE!!!!!

Khali: Jlajogujagh outnslobu nvouwt!!!

Okay, so maybe it would be as bad as it sounds.

Brown has no charisma, he is deffinatly not going to make it far in WWE.

Killings would however be great in ECW, he could work with Angle, RVD, Sabu... it would make for some good matches.

Anybody Thrilla
08-20-2006, 02:33 PM
Brown has plenty of charisma. It's just an awkward charisma.

Jordan
08-20-2006, 02:36 PM
Well it really doesn't work none the less. He is boring as hell. Although...

MONTY BROWN v.s BOOGEYMAN could be a killer dark match.

I think Monty Brown is funny. I can't really tell how much of it is intentional, but he's funny none the less.

The Truth is cool though.

I wouldn't mind seeing Killings vs. Shelton or Carlito

Monty will get picked up probably, he's come a long way on the mic (albiet still having a ways to go), and he can work a good brawl given a good opponent.

Killings has a lot of wasted movement in the ring.

<s>Killings</s> Sonjay "Flippy McGillicuty" Dutt has a lot of wasted movement in the ring.

Yeah but that wasted movement that he does is very unique, and is a big part of his character.

Killings reminds me of a young Booker T, and not just because of the Axe Kick (which Killings does better, I might add). They both have that kind of undefinable charisma and spark that keep you interested.

I was beginning to warm up to Monty Brown earlier in the year, but as of now, good fucking riddance.

I was a Killings mark when he making his run at the NWA title back in 2002.

An angry, pist off black man fed up with whitey, Killings played the role perfectly. At the time, I thought WWE was nuts for releasing him given the athleticism and charisma he showased in TNA.

Kane Knight

Killings has a lot more than most people would admit, but he tends to, like everyone else, appear shittier in matches...

The WWE should snatch up Ron Killings. He will probably try his luck in WSX or ROH, but he really should consider getting into the WWE. That's where the money is.

I think they would actually use him well this time. Stick him on RAW in the middle of the Intercontinental Division. Ron Killings vs. Shelton Benjamin, Ron Killings vs. Carlito, Ron Killings vs. Johnny Nitro, Ron Killings vs. Jeff Hardy, Ron Killings vs. Charlie Haas all have potential to rule. It would probably be counter-productive to put Killings over as a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, as the fans would begin to search for where he actually won the belt.

My fantasy booking for Ron Killings is this: Stick him on RAW as Ric Flair's protoge. Ron Killings is to Ric Flair as Johnny Nitro is to Melina.

Monty Brown is more difficult. He could actually transfer well. A lot of people would probably know him, and the announcers could act like they know all about him when he debuts. If they push him like he's a new guy to wrestling, I think he will flop pretty bad. My opinion? Have him Pounce the shit out of Shelton Benjamin on RAW in the near-future. Also have him Pounce Gregory Helms on SmackDown!. Just have random Pounce attacks for the next few weeks. Have him work on his ring work with Arn Anderson, Finlay and the DSW guys. Eventually have him take the mic, introduce us to his whacky style, and lay out an open challenge for Survivor Series, where someone will try to "Survive the Serengeti", but they will ultimately take the POOOOOOUUUUUUNNNNNNNNCCCCCCEEEEEEEEE.....Period!
