Not sure about matches that turned into shoots, but I know that Hogan won a Japanese title because he accidentally knocked out the champion and had to do something.

That big boot can be DEADLY! (Not really sure if it WAS the Big Boot, but...)

Does Regal vs. Goldberg count?

nm... if it was actually a legit fight, Goldberg would probably be dead right now.

I also recall an incident in 2004 when Hardcore Holly took stiff legit chair shots at Rene Dupree during a match at a house show.

What about the classic one from WCW where Goldberg went to Spear one of the guys in Kronic, hit the ring post and knocked himself out. There they are holding his unconscious body not knowing what to do... priceless.

Hogan mentioned in his book that Dan Spivey vs Adrian Adonis is 86 ended up being a shoot and went all the way backstage.

As far as fights, I don't know any real fights. Most wrestlers are professional enough to do a job and then take their beef backstage, hence tales of people getting stabbed, etc.

Back in the territories though, there were some REAL tough guys. I've heard that some of them would work pretty stiff until you started working stiff back...then they'd back off a bit.

It's just guys trying to prove they're a "bad ass." Nothing a stiff close-line can't settle but its common.

That was a work. Hogan didn't legit KO Inoki, they just said he did to get Hogan over.

No, Inoki was well known for "shoot booking" or booking to make everybody think it was a shoot/real.

Everyone likes to give Angle shit about that but damn, its not like he was expecting it, of course Puder got the best of him.

Same thing happened with RVD vs. Orton on Raw. Orton was completely whacked after the first 2 minutes of the match. I don't recall how it happened, but his body was virtually limp and his eyes glazed over. I said in an interview that he thanked RVD for carrying the match so well, as he was totally not home.

I don't have speakers right now so what were the announcers saying?

Also, were there any post match interviews, or any interviews years later about what actually went down? I watched that clip with no sound and was like wtf

Not between two wrestlers but the classic Eddie V RVD match when a fan runs in the ring, Eddie seems to nail him and then the ref tackles the bastard. I'm not sure if Eddies punch was a 'wrestling' punch or a genuine punch, still pretty funny.

I have a very grainy youtube vid. There's no commentary or interviews. It's just Brody staring at Luger and no selling his horrible punches.

happened in myfavorite RVD/Lynn match... hardcore Heaven.

Lynn is perched on the ropes and Fonzie has a chair to Lynn's head. RVD leaps from the top turnbuckle nailing a Vandamanator. Lynn falls off the ropes to the outside on the blue padding. Hard concrete underneath. I thought he broke some of his face in that fall too but yeah that was a brutal fall. He couldn't protect himself and fell like side of the face first.

RVD was very good at stalling.
