Are there any fans of Lucha around anymore? I know there used to be a few people who kept up with it. I personally try to watch CMLL every week, but today I caught some AAA, and it was ok...I didn't realise AAA switched to the six sided ring. When did that happen?

I used to follow Lucha a bit a few years ago, I kind of like the wrestling style but I don't keep up with it now.

I caught some lucha libre action on one of the Spanish channels a few months back...didn't recognize anybody, except La Parka. I enjoyed the hell out of it, even though everything was in Spanish...'twas highly watchable wrasslin' right thar.
I don't know when that stuff comes on regularly or on what channel or what, though...so uh...I don't keep up with it, but I like it anyway?

I've noticed a lot fewer whitey wrestlers doing lucha over the past few years. It seems to be 99% Mexican (or American of Mexican decent) wrestlers. And I agree, despite the fact I can not understand a single word that is spoken, the characters are REALLY played up, so the face/heel relationship is still very visable.
And yes, La Parka is very much the man...especially since his enterence music is "Thrilla" by Michael Jackson.
Oh and Shocker blows 23 different kinds of ass, how he is so over as a heel, I have no idea...he must be a fuckin wiz on the mic.

It looks really fake, they hardly connect with anything, and they don't sell for shit. So, no I don't like CMLL or AAA.

AAA has been using the six sidded ring for years. Before TNA.

Spot fests and as stated above, little to no selling or real believable connection being made. Not really something you could watch on a regular basis.

Lucha generally is crap. It's too unbelievable. At some point you have to either support Kayfabe/realism or become a TNA mark. I'll take the former.

Yeah, it gets enjoyable to a point. I mean you can only watch it for so long but I like it mainly because it's in Spanish.

I try and watch it every week. I watch AAA. Mystico, Hector Garza, and Dr. Wagner Jr. are all really fun to watch. Occasionaly ultimo dragon is on as well, which is a plus.

AAA has been using the six sidded ring for years. Before TNA.Didn't TNA and AAA have relations a while back?

Didn't TNA and AAA have relations a while back?
Yeah, but it was really more about sex only...nothing meaningful.

I haven't really seen any meaninfgul lucha aside from what I've found on youtube...saw a Mistico - Perro Aguayo (sp) match that people were raving about and found it slow and boring :$
