In the vein of Fire pro R, or King of Colosseum?

I love playing smackdown multiplayer. Its a great party game, but it falls flat for me in singleplayer. And despite, many little tweaks to make it feel like more of a sim, it still feels too arcade like to be considered a true wrestling sim. In singleplayer I cant remember one match i had that really resembled an actual wrestling match, whereas in fire pro and KOC I have them every time I play. KOC especially.

DOR series is a little better in that regard, imo, but it still also has that smackdown like arcade feel in many areas. The closest we've ever come I think, is the aki games.

Also, before anyone gets snippy, this is not some elitist purogamer, "smackdown sucks, japanese games are god" thread. They two very different type of games and I happen to like the smackdown series and the puro games. But to call smackdown a true wrestling sim, is just false. And I would just like to see a TNA or WWE game that has the same kind of depth as games overseas.

There are the GBA games, which are by far, truthfully, two of the best US released games IMO. But I'd love to see a console version of FPW come to the states.

Smackdown blows.

If I had the time patience and, well, knowledge, I would d/l and use the various Fire Pro mods on the net that translate everything and whatnot. But it's just a stupid amount of work, from what I can tell.

KOC does look pretty awesome from what I've seen, doubt I'll ever play it though :-\

The only ones worth downloading that you can get get on the internet are Fire pro Wrestling 1 and 2 for the gameboy advance. What ever sites offer gba roms should have it. The emulator is easy enough to find by simply googling it.

The best one is for ps2, and is called Fire Pro Wrestling R. King of Colleseum is by the same company, and is essentially a much deeper 3-d version of fire pro. Each has its pros and cons, but they are both miles above any other wrestling game, IMO.

Mr. MM, you really don't need to download translation patches and go through all that crap. I used a trnaslation guide the first couple weeks i had it, and after that all the menus became second nature. You'd think I kknow japanese, watching how easily I navigate them. Only thing I need to look back at the guide for is a couple little sections in edit mode.

Finally, if you do try it and your not getting it, and getting your ass kicked, DONT GIVE UP! This isn't pick up and play like smackdown or no mercy. Everything is timing based. The only buttonmashing you'll do is when trying to get out of pins and submissions. I didn't get the timing at first and gave up on it. Few years of listening to my friend rave about it made me give it a second chance. This time I stuck with it, learned it, and it was glorious after that.
