Dear Angle Friends and Fans:
Kurt "The Machine" Angle wants to truly thank everyone for their concerns and best regards to his recovery and wellness. Kurt continues to read your kind messages and he feels truly blessed to have your support, as your well wishes continue to strengthen him mentally and physically. He also apologizes as he would love to reply to you everyone but unfortunately due to timing with his family, his rehabilitation, training, and business leaves very little time to converse.
Kurt wants me to update you, he's happy to express his physical condition is fastly rebounding. When Kurt left WWE, he was beaten and battered down at a mirror 220. Over the past many weeks with the right rest, a wonderful wife who is preparing the ideal diet, daily physical therapy, and back to good strength training we are happy to report he's up to a solid 240 with about 85% full flexibility....
As you may have seen or heard the latest news, Kurt Angle is a huge fan of all MMA programs (K1, UFC, PRIDE, WEC, and IFL to name a few) this former Olympic Gold Medalist and Extreme Athlete has the heart and the deep driven passion to show he's the best of the best. Angle has his sight on a full physical recovery and plans a day to put it all on the line....Real Fighter will have the exclusive....

Ya know it would probably be a bigger risk to your body to be a professional wrestler than it would be to be a MMA fighter. I mean, a real fight doesnt' have you being body slammed at high elevations onto your head or anything. Yeah you get kicked in the head and slammed down, but I don't think it'd take the toll that a TNA spotfest match would.

You and Rectal Pertruder are both missing the point.
Kurt Angle does not have the proper MMA training to succeed. Just because he was a great olympic wrestler, does NOT mean he'll be a successful shoot fighter. It's apples and oranges.
Given how bad Angle's neck already is, the guy risks being permanently crippled. All it takes is ONE accurate shot.
Is this whole board stupid or something, or is it just you two morons?

Yeah, I seriously don't know what Kurt is thinking, He's been almost on the verge of death for 3 years, and granted he's moved pretty well for a deadman...
Save Your Undertaker jokes for later.
Kurt, there are many things you could do if you're worried about money, which you shouldn't be, You have a family and kids that missed there husband and Father....
If you want to remain in the spotlight...It isn't going to be MMA, Professional Wrestling or even acting, I think Kurt should focus on something much more important.
Becoming The President Of The United States
I mean, He's an American Hero, He American, He won a Gold Medal with a Broken Freaking Neck...If that doesn't deserve to be President, I don't know what does...
I mean, isn't running this country like being in Sports Entertainment, We have drug addictions, Death, War, Sexual Relations...and even X-Pac heat, when it came to running the white house in the past (and present)

^^^^^ Did anyone catch any of that? Me neither.
As much of a loss as it was for wrestling fans when Angle left, it's better for him. Going to MMA after recovering won't do anything but put him back into recovery[or perhaps a more permanent injury or paralysis]. Planned "sports entertainment" matches are a far cry from actual shoot fights.
These guys would break Angle's neck again and not flinch in doing so. Angle is a legend already for what he's done in his WWE career. Adding death to the list isn't the smartest thing to do.

Kurt is old and injury prone. I mean he might have a good chance against like Shamrock or Tank Abbot or other guys past their prime. But Against the younger guys who do that kind of stuff every day he will get destroyed.

I dont' understand why people are saying if he did MMA he'd get his neck broken? I really really don't get that. There's a better chance of him breaking is neck in the WWE than in the UFC. Yeah, he'd probably get beat up like Shamrock, but if he wants to do it, let him do it. LIke fuck, 2-4 fights a year compared to like 200 days on the road taking the bumps that wrestlers take. I'd go out on a limb saying a pro wrestler risks his life every day he's in a ring. A MMA fighter will probably not face serious injury. Dana White preaches "nobody has ever died or suffered serious injury in the Octagon". You can't drop somebody on their head, you can't kick a downed opponent in his head, you can't punch somebody to the back of the head, you have a ref who will jump in when it's obvious the fight is over. Come on, professional wrestling is way more dangerous than mixed martial arts.

Take an action figure, and take it outside. Smash it with a 20lb sledge. That's how Kurt is in real life. His body is smashed, broken, and scarred. He shouldn't even get off a fucking couch. He shouldn't be getting hit in the head, he should be jobbing to a bag of potatoe chips and watching TV.

I absolutely beg to differ.
He won't be a top champion but he can easily be a top star and make more money doing one fight that might last 2 minutes than he could doing 220 days a year with WWE.

for what it's worth
The talk of the internet and out of Kurt Angle’s camp is that Kurt is entertaining thoughts of getting into the UFC-like competition as promoters from around the globe are clamoring for the former Olympic Gold Medal winners services. From a promoter’s point of view, there is no doubt that the curiosity factor in signing Angle to fight would be potentially huge. How many Olympic Gold Medalists have stepped into this particular arena? I mentioned many weeks ago that some promoter would try and hook up the two former WWE stars Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar which is a lay-up. It doesn’t take a Vince McMahon or a Vince McMahon wannabe long to figure that one out. My two cents on this matter is that Kurt should stay as far away from the mixed martial arts world as possible. Yes, there is huge money to be made for a few fights but at what cost? I say the potential risk facing Kurt is too great to even think of traveling down this road. I am not condemning the promoters of this genre as they are in the business of making money and most defiantly Kurt Angle in the MMA world is money but is the risk of permanent injury worth the cash? Not where I sit.

To an extent, RP's right. Then again, I'm for Euthanaisa, and can't be arsed if consenting (or stupid) people weed themselves from the gene pool.
If he wants to die in a ring, let him die in a ring. Even if that ring is four/six/eight sided.

How DIDN'T he get hurt? He's had quite a few injuries, but would keep working through them. Now, most guys are encouraged to do just that, but with the number of Kurt's injuries, Vince and co. actually wanted him to do the opposite.

Kurt Angle has signed with TNA, and the wrestling world is buzzing. One thing has become apparent to me while reading feedback all over the web. Everyone seems to know what's best for Kurt Angle. The dominant opinion seems to be that Kurt needs time off, and people think that he shouldn't have went to TNA. I've seen things such as "1 year death pools" discussed on message boards, and to tell you the truth it makes me sick.
I'm here to tell you that TNA was the best possible, realistic option out there for Kurt Angle.
Realistic is the key word here. Why? Because there is no way in hell a guy such as Kurt Angle was going to sit at home and do nothing. He was going to be involved in something physical somewhere. He's got the kind of competitive, athletic drive that someone like Michael Jordan had. Remember, this guy won a gold medal with "a broken freakin' neck." He can't just sit at home and do nothing, and anyone who expects him to do that just doesn't understand the mind set of an athlete such as him.
Would WWE have been a good choice for him? Well, if they would have let him work a very reduced, no house shows schedule it would have been. However, Kurt was apparently unhappy there and WWE wanted him to sit home, do nothing, and get his life back in order rather than employee him. Even if he had stayed on with WWE with a reduced schedule, there's still going to be more shows per month than he will work in TNA, plus much more travel.
What about the most recent rumor that had been abound in the past week, Kurt working in MMA? Obviously this would be about the worst thing for him to do (he still might do it, his TNA contract is non-exclusive). A guy who has had some pain pill and injury issues in the past year, getting pounded in the body and head for real? Well, not much more is needed to be said here.
This brings us to TNA. A company where Kurt only has to work 2 television tapings a month and 1 pay-per-view show a month. I'm not sure whether TNA will want him to work some of the smaller house shows they have been doing in partnership with other promoters. They probably will, but I'm not sure of the specifics of his contract and whether this will be required. If it is required of him once in a while, it surely will not be more than 1 or 2 shows a month. So all in all, Kurt will work 5 shows or less (probably less) per month.
This gives him nearly 2 weeks off in between shows quite often. If he is still using pain killers, the time off between shows may help him ease off of them while his body heals. Plus, it gives him the chance to work in an environment he seemingly is excited about, and the treatment he surely will receive within TNA will elevate him emotionally much higher than where he was at with WWE. It's no secret that he never wanted to work on the ECW brand.
Anyone that has been on any type of drugs, whether it's pain killers or street drugs, will tell you that you are much more likely to have a drug problem when you're unhappy. The reduced schedule in TNA, plus the respect he's going to get from everyone in the company, is going to make Kurt a much happier person while still allowing him to do what he loves doing. Plus, it will allow him more time with his family to get things there back in order (something WWE cited in his release).
TNA is an absolutely perfect fit for Kurt Angle at this stage of his career and life. The kind of an impact that Kurt Angle will have on TNA is something I can't put into words. He gives them instant credibility to anyone that saw their show as "busch league" prior. Sure, they had big stars sign before. Christian and Sting are the prime examples. Neither of them were at the level of Kurt Angle. Not even Sting.
If this were 2001, Sting would have been possibly as big as Angle. However, having not been on national TV in 4 years, the addition of Sting was not as big as it could have been. However, even him arriving resulted in a jump in PPV buyrates and TV ratings. Imagine what Angle will do for the company.
Christian was big at first, at least for a curiousity factor. The fact that he was on WWE television just days before going to TNA gave that big "jumping ship" feeling that you only used to get during the Monday night wars era. However, the fact remained that he was buried within WWE in the mid-card no matter how much the fans loved him. His impact was pretty light in comparision with a Kurt Angle.
With Angle, you're talking about a multiple time WWE World Champion and an Olympic gold medalist. There's no comparision. He has been one of the top five biggest WWE stars of the 2000s. This is the biggest thing TNA has ever done. If promoted correctly, this move could do for TNA what signing Hulk Hogan in 1994 did for WCW. At the very least it should start the ball rolling into some steady business growth with the sky being the limit. It's in TNA hands. They've got the ball, now they need to decide whether they will run with it or crawl.
There are dream matches galore on the horizon. Television ratings are sure to spike, at least initially, and should TNA continue to take their PPVs on the road following Bound For Glory, I don't think they'll have problems drawing crowds.
If they didn't consider TNA serious competition before, WWE took notice on September 24th, 2006. Make no mistake about it. Things are about to get interesting.
