Another example of moronic behavior by the WWE.

I don't mind Boogeyman getting released, but what was the point of building him up so much? Kali, Masters, Nathan Jones, Heidenreich, that one Christian goth guy (he was supposed to feud with Eddie Guerrero, but got released...his last match was against Mysterio...I can't remember his name....starts with an 'M'?)...these are ALL examples of guys who were too green, and were pushed nonetheless. All landed on their ass.

WWE never learn from their mistakes. Fucking morons.

If you're refering to Mordecai, he's in ECW as Kevin Thorn and Masters is still around though the WWE doesn't have much faith in him and Khali is under contract but it's only a matter of time before he's gone.

As if SmackDown! wasn't boring ENOUGH without Boogeyman...now there's hardly any reason at all to watch, with the exception of "KENNEDY!", but even he's getting to be kind of lame...his last match, he didn't even stop Tony Chimel from announcing him, just let it go without his classic pre-match spiel, which, for what it is, I think is/was priceless...:nono:

They pretty much did all they could with him. He entertained, and had some big time opponents and wins, in JBL and Booker, but really where else can you go with him with that gimmick. Plus, he was not a very good wrestler.

To be fair, he was dumped back to OVW with little to no explanation. It might've looked like he was fired.

Good ridance. WWE needs to stop pushing these gimmicky characters and focus more on developing a decent all-around card[top-to-bottom]. Both shows have a lackluster mid-card and virtually no tag divisions.....

I'm just glad I'll never see that worm-eating disgrace again.

Come on guys, Boogey wasn't that bad as a comic relief character. No one expected him he go anywhere in the business, and that turkey-walk schtick was gold.

Good Riddance from me, my intellegence is usually insulted by the WWE, I didnt want it patronised too, in fact the reason I stopped watching was helped/hindered (whichever you prefer) by the Boogeyman.

I do find it somewhat dubious that IIRC he first debuted around Halloween last year, got injured and held off TV for most of this year, was all set to come back - again around Halloween.

No big loss though in my book. My wife is thankful that she doesn't have to see the worms anymore.

Precisely. Nobody's saying he was supposed to be taken as a serious, legitimate wrestler. He was comic relief. And although this was inevitable, he was fun to watch now and then.

Here we go:

Prior to his release, Marty Wright aka The Boogeyman had been rehabbing leg injuries and was close to being ready to get back into the ring. Management hadn’t been happy with his desire to get back into shape and feel that he had been doing the bare minimum.

When management found out he hadn’t been checking in with his doctors when he was supposed to he got several warnings, and when he didn’t change his behavior they released him.

Wright actually has a history of trouble with management. When he first started training with WWE he was kicked out of tryouts for lying about his age, but was given a shot in OVW two months later which is where the "Boogeyman" character was developed.

Firstly, let me say that I did enjoy The Boogeyman's character if for nothing else but the absurdity of it. The worm schtick was one of the most original things on WWE television in quite some time....very original...but entertaining? Well, that's up to you , really. I vote yes.

However, while I laughed at the character, it was pretty ridiculous seing him go over so many people. Namely...I dunno...anyone he stepped into a televised ring with, ever.

I'm not exactly devestated to see him go, but I really would have liked to seen what they would have tried to do with this character upon the return.

I probably should have expected something exactly like this, though.
