Wii is going to be able to use Wi-Fi with thuse of Ethernet cable/box/something. Here is my problem: I don't know what Wi-Fi/Ethernet net is/how it works/or how much it will cost for this. Can some tell me (in the easiest to uderstand fashion) how this all works?

Ok...

Ethernet is high speed internet, whether it be cable, dsl or whatever. You need to have it (and probably router) if you are going to connect any next gen system to the internet.

The Wii is unique in that it (stupidly) ONLY uses wireless internet to connect. So basically, you need the following:

* high speed internet connection
* wireless router
* Wii

Actually I believe there is an option to connect with wires. I could be wrong. I'm gonna research it.

Yep, you can use a "USB-to-Ethernet" adapter to connect the old fashion way.

I'm planning on buying a wireless router soon anyway since cords are fucking lame, so win for Tony.

Think there'll ever be a time when consoles will run without a single cable (save for the power cord)?

Won't be too long now. Maybe a generation or two.

My 360 is currently hooked up with wireless internet and wireless SCART so unless I;m charging a joypad, I only have the power cable.

Never heard of wireless SCART before.

Tis' a beautiful thing. Have multiple recivers and you can even play 360 in another room (as long as the pad reaches as well).

Niiiiiice.

Do you ever get problems with losing the picture quality, like if something is blocking the way?

Not yet, although I've only tried over one floor. It uses standard WiFi frequencies so the signal should be strong over an entire house.

If my 360 wasn't about 10 cm away from my tele I might have had to purchase on of these. Oh well, I'm not too bothered by the cables, I've got a SCART port on the side of my tele so it's got easy access.

I've played with one of them, but I don't think I'll own one any time soon.
