View Full Version : Does Test have main event potential in ECW?

Since his re-debut in ECW, Test has been really impressive, in my eyes. He really seems like a viable threat. Has he even been pinned in ECW yet? I guess after that match with RVD on Tuesday (which I thought was a pretty great match), I started thinking about the possibility of Test becoming a legitimate contender to the ECW heavyweight title.

I mean, he got the duke over RVD, which is pretty huge. At the same time though, I can't tell if he got that win because they really like him or because RVD is still being "punished" from the incident with Sabu.

Your thoughts on any of this?

Test, Main-Event and Potential look so weird being used in the same sentence.

It's a weird age for wrestling.

I've always thought Test had it in him to be main event material. He was one of the few big guys who was actually worthwhile.

He seems a lot more comfortable in the ring these days, too.

In ECW, more or less everyone has main event potential. Shannon Moore, eve...

...Okay, maybe not EVERYONE....

Yeah, I think Test has some pretty good potential to be honest. I've actually watched ECW since he's been on it, so I'm curious to see just how high he gets pushed.

I agree with that. I guess I should've said something more along the lines of him having potential to be a draw in the main event. I really was just very impressed with his match with RVD.

Out of the choices that ECW offers me for a main event scene, Test is definitely up there. I can't say that I would enjoy a Test title run, but I could deal with him competing for it.

I used to like Test a lot. Though he then seemed to get incredibly lazy. The Big Boot as a finisher was bloody awful.

I didn't think I'd enjoy Big Show as champ, but it's not too bad at all. Easily the best work he's ever done.

Another person I'm interested in right now is Matt Striker. I like how he's not getting jobbed out, but will they really push him towards the top of the card? Guy's money.

I thought the Big Boot was pretty leathal. *BOOM* off with his head.

First up AT i love you

secondly, Test and RVD was an incredible match

Thirdly, Holly RVD was a great match but not necessarily as memorable would HOlly not have cut his back open, i think that started a whole new thing in ECW, making ECW back to the way it was

Lastly. IF Test Holly is anywhere near as good as Test RVD and HOlly RVD I'll say yes Test is ready for ECW main event.

I use to hate Test, but now I actually like him.

So I think he has a bright future in ECW.

Test is one of those guys I think could have been in the Main Event YEARS ago.

I have said before that Test was probably the one guy most fucked over by Vince Russo leaving the WWF. He was in an angle that was really getting him over, especially with female fans. The relationship with Stephanie McMahon was Russo's brainchild, and Test really looked to be on the brink of something huge. He was alot like Nash, only mobile and talented. Then VinnyRu left, and they had to rework the ending of the angle. We don't really know what the ending to the angle is (Unless it was in Russo's book, which I didn't read), but the new ending we know: Steph wound up with Triple H, and Test more or less got buried in the non-feud.

I think, with the way the feud ended, Test kind of said "You know what? Fuck it!" and quit trying. He's only recently gotten that fire back.

So yeah, I think the rat-faced (he resembles a rat more than a horse nowadays) son of a bitch does have Main Event potential in ECW.

Test is weird ring name for a wrestler when you think about it.

I agree, but it's not any worse than "Ice Dagger," "Chilly McFreeze," or "Baron Von Ruthless."

Chilly McFreeze?? Sounds like a slurpee drink.

But they all have 1 thing in common: All were names offered to the Ringmaster when he decided he wanted a new gimmick.

a Cup of Tea and his British Wife (at the time) helped him decide on something else: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

Definitely! I've ALWAYS been a huge Test fan since his debut. I remember when he cut his hair and went to those shorts he use to wear back in 2002/2003... it was like "NOW he looks like a main eventer". Instead they teamed him with Steiner.

I'm definitely all for a Test title run.

Yes. He has always been a talent in my eyes, but his lack of a push made him lazy. Glad to see he is back to form.
