2 people in the same house both with individual ipods, but share the same computer.

Is it possible to both have your own itunes solely on your own user profile? I've tried installing my itunes on my profile on XP, but it ends up wiping off my mate's itunes on his profile. Any ideas?

my only guess would be to both share the library, but each have a playlist with your songs

That would be my suggestion. Install iTunes for all users and just create a playlist with all of your own songs.

Why not get your friend to back up his songs, then install iTunes to be on both profiles, then have him put his songs back on his library and you put your shit in your library.

Itunes is retarded.... I hate the way it's set up.... If I hadn't gotten a free 2gig ipod nano, I wouldn't use it at all.

Foorbar2000 is everything iTunes is and everything iTunes is not. I can't name one con to it. Only reason I don't use my iPod is because I never want to install iTunes again.

Yeah, they're garbage.

The one reason I don't have an iPod is that gay fucking proprietary shit.

iTunes is the most counterintuitive bullshit on the planet, too.

Yeah, I only got iTunes when I got my iPod for Christmas. I didn't mind it until 7.0 cme out. Worst shit ever. :n:

Yeah, been using iTunes for like 2 days and already fed up with it.

I really only use it for podcasts, and even then, only because a few of the podcasts I get are only available on the iTunes page. :|

Use multiple separate iTunes libraries on one computer

Sure, one copy of iTunes can easily supply music to two different iPods, but when two users have significantly different musical
tastes, wouldn’t it be less frustrating to simply use entirely separate libraries on the same computer? You can!
The easiest way to do this is to create multiple operating system user accounts, since iTunes gives each user on a computer a
clean, distinct library by default. With this method, you have the added bonus that your desktop settings, eMail, and internet
bookmarks are also distinct.

On a Mac, users are managed in the “Accounts” panel of System Preferences. On a Windows
machine, look for the “User Accounts” control panel to create a new user.

Don’t want to use separate operating system user accounts just to have multiple iTunes libraries?
Try “Libra 2” (homepage.
mac.com/sroy/libra/, Mac/PC, $10), a shareware utility built to help iTunes manage distinct libraries within one user
account on either MacOS X or Windows XP.

Speaking of which, is it true someone's cracked the proprietary format?
