So do we have to wait for the "season Premiere" of Raw for Cena to really be on? I think the shit he said last night may be the best he's done in ages.

Let it be known now that I like Cena. Cena has stepped up his game the last few months, and he has entertained me.

I'm not ashamed to say that either.

^ I agree, but he needs to feud with someone other than Edge.

Cena has been doing pretty well for himself since at least WM. It's not his fault that he is being shoved down everyone's throat as the next big thing (or the current big thing). He's solid on the mic (although it's easy to tell that he's memorized his lines word for word), and his in-ring work is decent (if not a bit predictable). I won't claim to be his biggest fan, but he doesn't make me want to change the channel.

His feud with Edge was the best thing ever for him.

He got some respect from me the way he acted at one night stand. He took it well. Not like Batista.

Yeah that's when he started to win me over so to speak. Then when Batista went into ECW I strated to lose all respect for him when he practically cried.

How was it? Only recently has he become entertaining and made this feud watchable. Up until the last month I haven't really cared. It's not like back in the old days when I was really into Rock/HHH, for example. It just doesn't have as much emotion(best word i could think of, or 'attitude' might be the word i'm looking for) I guess you could say. Also until recently Edge has been too forced through out this entire thing.

I think he was better as the bitter rapper. He's ok but shouldn't over come every odd and come on stage like he's got a midget hanging from his necklace.......I miss his chain :(

All of Edge and Cena's matches were pretty good. Also before Edge Cena was getting booed a lot more Edge helped turn that around.

Also Edge is the best thing going on RAW and right now is the top candite of WWE MVP for 2006. Edge is a great worker and an awsome heel. Hes doing some great work right now.

I can't be the only one on TPWW who feels that way about Edge. Can I?

Yeah I kinda have to admit that Cena isn't as annoying as he was earlier in the year. I was a big fan of him in 2003 and 2004 when he did have quality jokes about his opponents. And last night was some of the better stuff he has done in a while.

Frankly, as far as Batista went, I found it refreshing that a wrestler actually acknowledged a shitty crowd reaction despite being a face.

He's been good the past few weeks, and I have noticed a decline in heat for him. There are still a few random hardcore haters, but there seems to be more and more Cena fans.

But his acknowledgment of the situation wasn't handled very well. He acted as if he really expected to be accepted by the ECW fans, and when they booed the shit out of him he threw a temper tantrum. I don't particularly care for the way that "typical" ECW fans will treat wrestlers that they don't like, but Batista should have just been above it.

If he were "above" it, he would've been ignoring it. Batista got mad and yelled back at the fans. I prefer that reaction to still trying to play to the crowd while getting a shitty reception, which is what babyfaces typically do in the WWE.

I agree that Cena has been good, but what people won't admit is that Cena has been good pretty much this whole time. Like weapon x said, cena is not bad, he just plays his role, and plays it well. Predictable matches are a syndrome of EVERY maineventer in WWE. He looks better in gimmick matches, but every talented star does. ]
Batista in ECW was funny because it shows that the stories of him being a primadonna now are true. Everyone does not like you pal. Do likek Cena and roll with the punches.

Yeah, it's almost like, if he's entertaining, people cheer him. Weird how that works. :D

Yeah I totally agree he's coming on leaps and bounds.

However I have to say I wish I could fall asleep now and wake up when the three way feud with the other champions is finished. It just loses the whole excitement considering there is an invasion every few months. Maybe wait and year and we MIGHT be shocked and interested in seeing this. Otherwise it's just Cena and two hasbeens with fucking titles they ordered of WWEShopzone.com.

I'd just like to point out that only feud that Cena's had as a champ on Raw where he wasn't boo'd was against Y2J, thus making him the greatest worker of all time.

And for thr record, i've never minded Cena, I was giving him face pops at Mania, not because i'm a mindless mark, but I was getting fed up of all the smarks trying to be 'cool'. The guys alright, there's nothing terrible about him

Off the top of my head, I don't remember Cena boos for sure, but I do remember pro-Jericho chants when he was clearly supposed to be the heel.

Yeah, it's so uncool not to "settle" for an "alright" wrestler.

I'm not quite sure what he did last night that defines 'really be on'. Just the same shit we've seen from him for 2 years. Cena beats the odds, stands on the walkway with a stupid belt, and salutes.

Leading up the their match at Summerslam 05 Cena wasn't boo'd, but at Summerslam the crowd was split 50/50. I was there, there were an incredible amount both Cena and Jericho marks.

Who else noticed the huge face pops for Show, that was far more remarkable than a lack of boos for Cena.

I get so sick of people saying 'Its not Cenas' fault he's getting shoved down everyones throats'. God, its not like he's a dog thats just shit all over the floor 'its not his fault', or some 3 year old kid who's spilt a drink over an expensive laptop computer. Or Gene Snitsky. The guy has a fucking tongue in his throat, if I remember rightly, it was him who wanted to remove the rapper thing from his persona.

Edge has carried John Cena for the better part of this year. The TLC Match at Unforgiven was ALL Edge. Everything awesome in that match was in part due to Edge. Cena did take one interesting bump in the match, but it was nothing too grand. We've see Matt, Jeff, Edge, Christian, Bubba and D-Von do that in their sleep.

He still agitates me for the mere fact he's WWE Champion, again. The guy should be Intercontinental Champion, at best. He hasn't shown off his actual wrestling skills in some time, and unless he gets practice, he's eventually going to turn himself into Hacksaw Jim Duggan. The problem with putting him against good wrestlers is that they are more deserving of the WWE Title than he is. This is where the problem lies. You can't have Cena get that much needed development he needs facing duds, but if you stick him in the ring with a guy who's good, the fans flock to the good guy's side.

Apparently one World Title will be on the line at Cyber Sunday. I would have it be the WWE Championship, and have King Booker win it. Have a WWE World Heavyweight Champion and an ECW World Heavyweight Champion.

Triple H can then feud with King Booker over who really is the "King of Kings", while Shawn Michaels and Edge square-off, as Randy Orton steps in to face John Cena, over who really is the future of the company. Have Batista added to the World Title program, simply because SmackDown! should be able to name a challenger at Survivor Series, as well, and you have yourself three main event matches set. Four if you count the logical ECW Originals vs. New Breed Match.

John Cena isn't a draw, his matches aren't great, and he's still got a lot to learn. They shouldn't force him down our throats until both he and we are ready.

Well, toning down his moveset probably isn't his fault. But if the Rock had toned down his character, if Austin had toned down his character, if Triple H had toned down his character, we'd not be praising them. Cena's got some responsibility himself, and he's not stepping up. And yes, he did say that he was the one who wanted to stop rapping. I don't know if he's just being a good "team player" or if it's true, but it doesn't matter.

When you're a superstar, you play your greatest hits. What makes Undertaker boring is that he doesn't want to play his part, and halfasses it. What makes Cena boring is that he's been halfassing it. What makes Triple H awesome (currently) is that he's actually been working his ass off, even if he's playing a tired role.

It's Cena's job to make his new character more interesting, and he's generally failed on that. People genuinely liked him as an Eminem wigger, as opposed to the Will Smith wigger. People genuinely dislike his new character. When even the "marks" aren't generally into you...Hell, as someone else pointed out, when the guy from the rival brand gets popped more than you, there's something wrong. And stupid fucks can blame it on it being "cool" to hate the big guy, they can blame it on WWE, they can blame it on whoever, but it's largely Cena's fault.
