Tom Afflec called in the following Smackdown spoilers from the WWE Supershow taping in Los Angeles, CA:

- MVP came out and cut a promo about Kane, leading to Kane coming to the ring for an impromptu match.

- Backstage, King Booker was taping up to wrestle. Booker vs. Batista is the main event tonight.

- Elijah Burke defeated Vito after Sylvester Turkay interfered.

- William Regal did a promo saying he wasn't going to be Smackdown's whipping boy anymore.

- Regal and the debuting David Taylor then defeated Scotty Too Hotty & Funaki.

- Chavo Guerrero defeated Rey Mysterio in a Loser Leaves Smackdown I Quit Match. Good match that saw them do dives off the rampway. Mysterio ended up hung upside down from the Titantron scaffolding and Guerrero was beating his leg with a chair. Rey kept trying to hang in and not give up but finally quit.

- Backstage, Matt Hardy and Gregory Helms were arguing. Helms claimed that he could beat anyone. Teddy Long ordered him to wrestle Undertaker.

- The Undertaker pinned Gregory Helms with a tombstone.

- Next up is a Diva Danceoff. Miz was the host. Aaron and Nick Carter were the judges. Kristal Marshall won. This was said to have been the worst segment of the entire taping.

- Batista defeated WWE World champion King Booker by DQ. John Cena and Big Show were both at ringside scouting Booker. It ended up with Cena and Batista battling off Booker and Show. Teddy Long came out and said that he was going to try to sign a tag match for next week's Smackdown main event

If that's the Dave Taylor that was in the UK and former All Star champ, well fucking done to him! He's only been signed on for 6 months, think he was a whipping boy for Umaga at a UK show,

But the guy is built, and can work.

Now if only Birchill was fit and a UK stable could start up....

Holy shit, that actually sounds good. Too bad I wont be getting my Jeff hardy V Chavo feud, but I ain't that bothered.

Glad Rey is going for a bit, he's been needing to sort out the knee for a while now and 6 months off will do him wonders as he was getting really stale, I just hope he doesn't go to Raw as he'd be wasted there, don't really want him on ECW either, so not sure what they could do to get him back on smackdown, I only say this cos Smackdown needs the names more than any brand right now

I reckon he'll go to ECW, wonder what Chavo will be doing? Also I'm liking Kane on Smackdown, jus thope they don't job him to MVP.

Ah, I was wondering who David Taylor was. Good for him, but William Regal seems to chew through protoges these days. They'll make better heel WWE Tag Team Champions than The Gymini, though.

I would love to see Paul Burchill return with Harry Smith as a kind of anti-Regal/Taylor team. Give them Katie Lee as a manager.

Hopefully now that Vito has lost, he will ditch the dress and wrestle in conventional attire, and get a decent push. Just stick him in the ring with Jamie Noble, Finlay, William Regal, Elijah Burke, Chavo Guerrero, etc. He will get over based on his talents.

I could find myself getting into a Chris Benoit vs. Chavo Guerrero feud for the WWE United States Championship.

This is the WWE, no one is given enough time to get over based just on their talents.

Examples:

Gunner Scott

I still think the reason Scott never got over was because of his stupid-ass name. He might have actually gotten a few "Let's go, Albright!" chants if he got to use his real name. Hell, why not go with Slater Vain? Gunner Scott? WTF?

But yes, the WWE would probably have Vito start jobbing left, right and center if he lost the dress. Actually, now that his winning streak's gone, I can see him jobbing left, right and center in the dress. :(

Hopefully now that the Mysterio/Chavo angle is over they can stop using Eddie in any storylines.

Actually I find that to be the best part about Smackdown this week.
