So Cena, he wears camogear, salutes people, talks about American military, calls himself the Marine, stared in a movie that bombed called "The Marine", did he do any service with the military or does he pretend like he pretends to be black? If he does pretend, and if I were a US Military member, I'd be pissed.

He did an afternoon at a marine training camp.
Didn't they say he spent a week at boot camp?
Anyway, that's the extent of his service. They're only doing all this shit to hype the marine.
Also, I wouldn't call a top ten movie a "bomb." Stickboy, you may not like it, but debuting at #6 in the box office rankings (Source: Yahoo Movies) is not bombing.
That being said, Fuck Cena.

i saw a segment that showed he only spent a day at the usmc boot camp. he then went on to say he had never been so exhausted in his life....

I don't think he learned much, either. I mean, if he did, he would have spent the entire movie getting shot at while the Air Force or the Army actually did the work. ;)

If I were a Marine, I'd be mighty pissed at Cena right about now, calling himself one when he spent a fucking DAY (or WEEK) at a boot camp and was exhausted. Pfft.

Does he do that retarded robotic salute in the movie? I said a few months before the movie came out, to watch him; he'd just begun the stupid salute and started wearing dogtags in place of his lock and chain. And I knew they were doing it just so when the movie came out, he could do that stupid salute and it would be "Trademark Cena". It doesn't really matter, I guess...but if he does, I totally called it.

I didn't mean bomb, I meant terrible.

Sorry, "bombed" generally means it did poorly.
It's also not that bad a movie, if you like action flicks. He's no Steven Segal, but then, Segal was never exactly convincing....

Why would the Marines mind? The movie fellates them.

Incidentally, military types LOVE it when movies that support them come out. So I don't think Cena pretending to be a Marine will really get anyone pissed.
...Except us folks who think he should serve or shut up.

A) I called it in general, but I'm sure the intention was to get a mild pop, i.e., Rock Bottom thru the table in The Rundown.
2) Of course nobody cheered, dingbat; you were at a Cena movie.
Kane Knight
10-20-2006, 02:59 PM
If it were with the intent to get cheers, it would have been placed at the end of a dramatic point, not in the first 5 seconds of the picture.

I'm not talking about the centrifuge of the movie being the salute, you tool. When Rock pulled the RB in the Rundown, it was in the midst of a tussel; thrown in, almost secretly, for the WWE fans to point out to each other and say "Dude, did you see that? He totally just Rock Bottomed that guy."
Nobody cheers in a movie theater, chief. You may laugh, cry, give a startled yelp; but you don't "cheer". My claim was that it was designed to be a 'treat' for the Thuglies. Nothing more...nothing less.
Kane Knight

I'm not talking about the centrifuge of the movie being the salute, you tool.
Nor am I.
However, if the intent was such as you put it, it would be at some pivotal or emphasised moment. The Rock Bottom wasn't slipped into the Rundown, it was even slowed down, so you had a nice long shcance to look at it.
Putting the Salute in like this is more or less expecting that people would pop at the 20th century fox logo. Not to mention you're not arguing cause and effect, but the opposite.
Afterlife
10-21-2006, 11:38 AM
First, I'd like to congradulate you on taking an offhand comment and finding a reason to create a moot argument.
Secondly, you're still missing my point. All I ever said was that they started the stupid salute so they could do it in the movie, and it would be a pseudo-trademark. I'm sure if Cena F-U'ed a bad guy, it'd be all Matrix Effected. But the salute's grandeur is about the level of Hogan saying "brother" in Suburban Commando. And I reiterate, I never said it was to make them "cheer". It was just a noticably fabricated trademark designed for the movie.
And what the hell is the opposite of 'cause and effect'? Because, in tru Kane Knight fashion, I'd like to point out that if you meant I was arguing 'effect and cause', that'd be the reverse, not the opposite.
