Raw title up for grabs

And Cena wins it

Shocking I know, but a title doesn't have to change hands

There's no way idiots like this could continue to stumble across this website at this rate. One or two a year, maybe, but we have way too many. Idiots like this would probably only come back once and lose interest due to their short attention span. If this guy is the real deal, we'll soon forget about him. If not, it's probably a practical joke by one of the regulars around here.

Seriously, though, I hope John Cena loses to the WWE Championship to King Booker, so we can get a cup of T on both brands.

Well as JBL said "a champion of champions match is unheard of in professional wrestling". Its a great concept, I just wish they could have brought forward a better matchup. I like Booker T and all, but damn. Even if all 3 belts were on the line with no DQ (must be a winner) I dont think I could bring myself to order this one.

If any of the titles change hands, I'd like to see it be the WHT.

The WWE Championship is the WWE's cornerstone title, and I'd hate to see it possibly merged with another title in a recessive manner.

ECW only has one title, so I'd like to see them keep it.

In any instance, I agree with Dave that simply not having a title change hands is the best way to go.

I don't want to see any titles change hands. This isn't really a proper (or interesting) feud, so to have someone drop the title would make little to no sense.

So, King Booker will be losing the belt, right?

I don't know, I think having simply a WWE Champion and ECW Champion would make things simpler, and help their Champion look even better in the long run. I mean, the WrestleMania main events have gotten really messy over time. Each brand has its major babyface to push, and you have duplicate stories at WrestleMania. Now with ECW involved, there are going to be three major babyfaces. Eventually WrestleMania's just going to be main events all the way down to the opening contest.

John Cena will likely be the WWE's choice for torch bearer, but I'd love to see King Booker appear on both brands as "WWE World Heavyweight Champion". They wouldn't make the WWE Championship recessive, just point out it is a different era for the Championship. Maybe have King Booker's belt represent the WWE Championship, or something like that? It'd be weird for a while, but I think they'd be able to pull off just making every World Title under the new unified Championship as the "WWE Championship". So King Booker would no longer be a five-time WCW Champion, one-time World Heavyweight Champion and one-time WWE Championship, but he'd simply be a seven-time WWE World Champion.

It'd make things so much simpler, in my opinion.

I do think that the idea of just having a WWE champion and an ECW champion is nice in some ways, in that it would really help to establish ECW as an extra-WWE wrestling show, even though that's the direction they seem to be moving away from at this point.

Other than that though, I don't know if I think it's such a good idea. The problem that really arose with the Undisputed World Title in 2002 was that the champion would really only be in a feud with whoever the number one contender was at the moment. So, say the number one contender was on Smackdown, that meant that whenever the champion was on Raw, they would either a) not have much for him, or b) just have the number one contender be on Raw as well, which really does a lot to break down the brand barrior. I also think that at this point the WWE main event scene is oversaturated to the point that they need two titles, unless they want to push a considerable amount of guys down to the midcard, which, in turn, would push everybody down.

I want the HWC to be on the line mostly just to hear the marks and smarks ju rant about how "vince screws SD again"

Cena just has it too much, regardless of how much they want him to be their top guy. A true top guy doesnt have to always the belt to keep his spot, even Austin and Rock weren't always champion in their peak.
Cena will most likely be winning or defending the belt at WM23. So what's the point of him holding it until then or the time period leading up til then? I think they should try having a split brand champ for a little while, and Booker deserves to be called a WWE champion. If you're gonna have these 3 guys appearing on all the shows all the time, at least give it some meaning and put 2 belts on one of them. Won't happen tho.

I agree that Wrestlemania has gotten messy with title main events. You have 2 "main events" to build, meaning hyping up 2 babyfaces and 2 heels. Something is clearly lost, as the crowd isnt really behind just one guy. Its no longer THE mainfan favorite and event for THE title. I think it has a lot to do with how they cant seem to get someone over as the definitive top name, which used to be a pretty simple forumla.
Now you have the ECW title in the mix, which undoubtedly will be dealt with in a lesser light than the other 2 titles come WM time, but nonetheless it makes things more messy. By ending brand extension with Raw and Smackdown you can have one WWE title and federation, while still having a secondary brand and title with ECW. My wish would be for them to combine the World and WWE belts into one, clean up the rosters, combine the tag divisions. The IC belt could remain the secondary belt and the US could be kept around as a midcard title.
With a WWE roster with a larger pool of main eventers, a solid tag division, and strong IC and US title divisions on the midcard. Cruiserweight and Womens could stick around for the lower card. The problem is that by combining Raw and SD, you would have a lot of talent in one place. This could be resolved by strengthening ECW and makign them 2 hours. Guys like Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy and even Kane could fit in well over there, since they're making it more like a WWE show and straying away from ecw as it is.
