As previously noted, Monty Brown's TNA contract expired on 9/30. Brown and Ron Killings had requested their releases from TNA several weeks back, but neither were granted. Brown only had a short time left on his deal, so he allowed his contract to expire despite being in negotiations with TNA. Pro Wrestling Insider reports that Brown was present backstage at the Raw tapings last night in Chicago, and according to the source, has now entered into contract negotiations with WWE.

I only like his mic work.

Sadly, he could be a good fit for WWE. He can't wrestle, has a stupid finisher, and no one will take him as a serious threat. He's bound for gold.

He is the next John Cena?

I think that I'll enjoy him more in WWE than TNA, but I don't really like Monty Brown. He's not very good on the mic, and he's even worse in the ring.

LMAO @ the video clip. The greatest part of all that was the fact that this took place during TNA's downtime when they were outside as the Impact Zone had that malfunction. I'm sure someone said, "how do we kill a fill minutes on camera?" and the response was, "just give the mic to Monty and have him say his usual pointless rants"

I got the perfect storyline for Brown if he enters WWE. Booker T begins to recieve letters that say, "I STILL REMEMBER EVER AND WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER!"...then one day Brown comes out and attacks Booker T. Gets on the mic and says he's his half brother that lived in poverty while Booker T led the high life. While Brown was buying orange soda with food stamps, Booker T was the WCW Champ...but now he's come back to extract vengenance. :shifty:

Wow. That Monty Brown promo was like the Rock doing a promo after tripping on acid and suffering brain damage after a car accident.

Seriously, I can see where he gets his inspiration for the shite that comes out his mouth, but you can't forgive "I am him, and he is me". WTF!?

Monty Brown may be he first "TNA Made" star with any sort of considerable name recognition, who jumps to the WWE.

Whether you like Brown or not, I think this says something positive about TNA.

Lets see here.

He's big, he's got Zero Talent in ring, his skills on the mic are mediocre at best.

Sounds perfect for WWE. He'll be main event very soon.

Just a quick question here...IF Monty does go to WWE, will he be the first TNA home-grown talent to go to WWE? I can't think of anyone else who has jumped who wasn't already established in either WWE, WCW or ECW from way back.

Unless you count CM Punk but he was far more known for RoH than his breif stint in TNA...

He's got a decent look to him, and as long as the E give him the 4 moves of doom, he'll do fine. TNA's style is different to WWE's, as long as all his promo's are scripted and the agents, sorry producers look after him there's no reason why he can't be a moderate sucess.

For the record I think he's a waste of space and the guy's work rate is wank, but that shouldn't stop Vince cos the guy is big and all. Why let a little thing like work rate get in a way of a decent look

With enough grooming and a chance to just cut loose on promos, he could be the next Rock. The Rock wasn't that great of a wrestler, either, but the mic work and the fact that he could still put on some good matches even when he wasn't as good as Flair or Angle or Benoit was enough. Brown could do the same for the WWE.

I have the feeling the WWE will be chomping at the bit. Put him on SmackDown and have him feud with Lashley, and just let them go. Brown can play the heel or face awfully well, and Lashley can carry him to a good match.

Dave Youell
10-25-2006, 05:20 AM
Brown isn't that great with the crowd either, remember all you are basing this on is the tna 'fans'

Most WWE fans won't know who he is and will need a reason to love/hate him, which require the 'creative' team to do something 'creative' for a change
