ECW and SmackDown team up for live events
October 29, 2006


WWE officials have announced that as of Dec. 26, SmackDown Superstars and ECW Extremists will be touring together for live events. Officials say that this is a great opportunity for WWE and ECW fans alike to experience the unparalleled action of both brands combined

Sources say that WWE officials were concerned because the attendance at some of the ECW live events hasn’t been as strong as initially projected.

ECW representative Paul Heyman had the following response to these huge changes that will commence the day after Christmas.

“Well, it’s no secret that ECW does not have the resources that are available to RAW and SmackDown,” explained a frank Heyman. “We’re too early into the relaunch of the brand and you can’t expect ECW to perform at the same level as RAW and SmackDown without the same budget, personnel and man-power.”

He continued, “Therefore, in an effort to maximize the budget and give our ECW fans the most bang for their buck, we’re going to be combining live events with the SmackDown brand to bring the most star power, the most action-packed and the most main events available in one given night.”

No, the are combining house shows of a new brand and 1 of the original 2 existing brands.

Was expected considering the low attendances really, this basically changes nothing, if anything I'm happy as I feared they were just going to can ECW all together, so at least it's still going on in some capacity and the smackdown house shows may increase if you're getting 2 brands on 2 show each time

A "great opportunity" to admit failure and mismanagement mabye, but i don't know about unparalelled action.

Yeah, i'm already drooling over potential feuds, like the long awaited "Sandman vs. Boogeyman". Who really is "the man"? Please.

^^^I got it brothers. Jokes apart the wwe has attained extreme popularity since the attitude era. Nextly after the seperations of the brands smackdown was doing awesome till 2004 after that it is dieing. Look at the ratings they are even low thatn the time wcw closed. sd! is in a terrible state when it comes to ratings and so is ECW. WWE does not accept failure and moves on the with it because they know they are the biggest wrestling industry and they are world wide people sit with their ass on the sofa to watch anything they show us cause we have no where else to go bullshit.
