SmackDown star Bobby Lashley has asked WWE officials to move him to another brand. Reportedly, he doesn't get along at all with the new SmackDown head writer, Michael Hayes. The word going around is that Hayes doesn't see much value in Lashley, and Lashley dislikes Hayes as well. Also, they have been involved in several backstage arguments in recent weeks. Lashley's push has lessened greatly to say the least ever since his title match with No Mercy with King Booker was suddenly turned into a four-way match because WWE had little confidence in him headling a PPV by himself.

Should WWE grant his request, Lashley will probably be moving to ECW. Lashley enjoyed working with Paul Heyman in Ohio Valley Wrestling and that is why he has requested to be moved to ECW. Furthermore, ECW is lacking top-level talent, so this move seems likely.

Good move imo, turn him heel and have Heyman as his manager. They should do a storyline where Heyman completely turns his character around.

Lashley is extreme!!!!!!

No but seriously, I don't want him in ECW. I think he can be good there, as other people, like Test, who are not typical ECW guys have done well. However, Smackdown really can't afford to lose any more talent, especially Lashley who they have been pushing hard for a long time now.

^ Caged heat, what's the point in having a talent like Lashley on the show when they aren't going to use him properly?

Once again, the problem isn't with creative, it's the wrestlers.

Well you could make that case for a lot of the talent in WWE. But it is a fair point. In my opinion I felt they were using him fine, up until the last couple weeks as his push has seemed to stall. I wish they would have let him main event No Mercy without adding Batista and Finlay, but thats the way it goes. If they use him better in ECW than thats great and that helps ECW a lot, but Smackdown is thin as it is, and can't really afford to lose talent.

But this case a bit different to others where WWE has fucked up as we know that Lashley and Hayes who writes for Smackdown aren't exactly getting along so it just seems pointless keeping him there.

So why not move Hayes?

Cause he's only just been appointed the new head writer hasn't he?

Can we say "New ECW Champion in December" if that happens?

Too bad WWE doesn't realise he's not an ECW type guy. He could be good on Raw, but whatever. He's not bad in the ring, I just think he needs to pick up his pace a lot. Maybe ECW will allow him to branch out and do a tiny bit more wrestling wise.

I want him to stay on smackdown aslong as they use him right, which isn't going to happen.

Is this the same guy who is a rabid mark for the programming where "gemeric small guy who does flips" is considered a gimmick?

Just checking.

They don't think Lashley can hold a PPV but want to move him to ECW because he's a top name?

Doesn't that contradict itself?

yea, Paul E. was Brock Lesnar's manager, so might as well be Black Lesnars too.

I don't think moving Lashley to ECW would be a good move.

Are the WWE just moving all of SmackDown! over to ECW??

I personally think ECW is the last place Bobby Lashley should be. It's not he can't work there, it's that they already have enough talent. If they want to move Blaster, send him to RAW, and have him feud with Shelton Benjamin.

Jim Ross would likely get on his dick, and he and Benjamin would have some nifty match-ups. Faarooq could be his mouthpiece, and he'd eventually capture the Intercontinental Championship, before being elevated to the main event in about a year's time.

ECW could be too much, too soon for Bobby Lashley.

I dont understand why WWE thinks Lashley cant hold a PPV i like to watch his matches. I think he is among the Top 5 on SmackDown and i dont like the whole King Booker BS. He used to be in Harlem heat now he is a King? Either Batista or Lashley should be the Champ. Better Yet just re-sign Brock and have him and LAshley form a Tag Team and go for gold. WHo could Stop them Besides the BoD

I don't agree with the ECW-type theory. The only talent that isnt "the ECW-type" are guys who've already been majorly established as WWE guys already (ie HHH, Taker, Shawn).
Guys like Lashley and Test and so on are just as much ecw types as the originals there. There really is no type, they're just different kinds of wrestlers who were employed by ECW. Just because a lot of the ECW talent was out of shape, unskilled in ring workers who wore street clothes doesnt mean thats the type. They had a lot of variety and they would have had more if they had the financial freedom to sign and hold on to talent. Just because now ECW new guys doesnt mean they're not the "type". If Lashley wears jeans to the ring and starts putting guys through tables is he now ECW worthy?
And besides, its not the ECW anyways its the third brand of WWE.
