I voted more with RAW on my mind than SD! or ECW (both of which I am enjoying right now for the most part.) But since this K-fed angle started I have been suffering through RAW. I just hope once it's done with things will begin moving in a more positive direction.

Kevin Federline is challenging a former world champion. Young guys are getting jobbed out to veterans left, right, and center. The continued appearances of Big Dick Johnson. New ECW resembling the old ECW in name only. Total lack of anything resembling a well built tag, womens, or cruiserweight division. The continued whoring of Eddie Guerrero's name. Drop dead awful commentary in 2 out of 3 brands. Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Roddy Piper, and Tatanka returning to active competition. Constant bullshit finishes. Diva searches. Flat out idiotic gimmicks. A fucking dog listed as a WWE superstar. Little Bastard.
What do you suppose I voted for.

I crack the fuck up every time he comes out and Cole screams his head off and JBL goes "HE'S A LEPRECHAUN!"

Little Bastard is slightly funny. It makes no sense to Finlay's character. He's a tough as nails, dead serious fighter. And then he pulls a leperchaun out from under the ring.

He's Irish. So therefore he uses a leperchaun. Its as much of a link as you need by WWE standards

I said "Okay and holding steady" because of SmackDown! and ECW though.

I said "Okay and holding steady" because of SmackDown! and ECW though.Honestly I should of said the same. But if the flagship is THAT deplorable, even though The B show is solid, and the C is great, I tend to gravitate to the bad. I mean, it's supposed to be what all aspire to be, yet it's a pile.

Where's the "Moving into their own little Vietnam" option?
I missed Raw two weeks ago. I wish I missed more of Raw this week.
Next week, I'll probably tape it only, and not bother if it's as crappy as the last couple weeks.

Let's clear this up right now.... John Cena DID NOT lose the WWE Championship at Cyber Sunday. King Booker's (WCW, yes I said WCW) World Heavyweight title was the only one on the line and he retained. Therefore, Cena is STILL WWE Champion.

I voted 'bad and getting worse', will save the last option for when they have TNA's ratings and every WWE show is in the shitter.
And lol@no one voting for the first 2 options.

Um, I don't blame Blitz for not realising John Cena is WWE Champion. The belt has been booked to shit recently.
There may be some good coming out of Survivor Series, with Matt Hardy hopefully getting a push, Gregory Helms looking credible, Kane looking like a monster, CM Punk remaining undefeated and Mr. Kennedy taking The Undertaker off TV.
OK, none of that has any chance of happening. I voted it's bad, and getting worse.
DX has bored the crap out of me, John Cena is currently doing nothing of note. Batista has actually looked OK over the last few weeks, but I'm still not feeling him as World Heavyweight Champion. Benoit and Chavo need to get in the ring and give me something to get excited about. Where the Hell are Paul London & Brian Kendrick, as well? They're only on SmackDown! like every second week. Why the fuck they haven't done a London & Kendrick vs. Finlay & Regal feud is beyond me.

I'm suprised at the number of 'Holding Steady' responses.
I'll give WWE its due credit: The talent is there, most of it anyway, guys like Carlito, Kennedy, even Edge still have got it, its just the writers. Usually I look at WWE.com (my homepage) and think ''Damn I wish I had cable'' then I thought ''This is a little crap'' now I have changed my homepage, that tells you my opinion of it.

Smackdown! is really great, it reminds me of old school WWF, I enjoy it tons. Raw is complete shit, the matches suck the angles suck and overall the wrestlers are much worse than Smackdown. ECW sucks too, what other wrestlers are even worth putting on their PPV? Shannon Moore? Tommy Dreamer? Are you kidding me?

Raw is just SHIT.
SmackDown is a little better, still needs some work.
ECW is like SmackDown, but mercifully without Boogeyman and only an hour
long.
And now it's spilling into the video games, which actually made for good
entertainment where the show failed.

With every passing week I'm quickly shifting from pro-Brand extension. To anti-brand extension.
I think the best direction they could take is to merge Raw and SD! to one brand/two shows, strategically placing some of the extra talent in ECW, only those who fit tho.
Batsu
11-13-2006, 10:42 PM
Well, here's the problem.
Raw's got no direction.
If you combined the two of Raw and SmackDown...
the likes of Mr. Kennedy, Shelton, and Carlito would
be buried under DX, Boogeyman, and whatever silliness
Vince insists on having on mosto f the show.
The one-brand atmosphere worked back in '98-'00
because WWE had its act together as far as midcard
and main event, tag team, etc. was concerned.
But now they don't...
Ed Ferrara, asshole he was for that "Oklahoma"
crap, had a really good article on what's effed up in
WWE now...which explains this even further.

I agree with the problems that are present, and those that are avoided by brand extension. But if you really think about it, it could fix many of the current problems.
The Main Event: Lets face it, the title fueds are getting increasingly boring, less credible, and repetitive. Each show really only has 2 or 3 guys that are useable in the main event. This is only going to be getting worse with Big Show, Booker, Taker and Shawn all nearing the end of the road I'd say.
If you combined things you'd have Cena, Edge, Orton, HHH, HBK, Booker T, Batista, Undertaker and one or two others in the top spots. With some of these guys getting ready to wind down I dont think thats too much.
Up and coming stars: Guys like Kennedy and Carlito are promising. The chances of Shelton getting over to the point a lot thought he would are decreasing. *Spoiler warning....................Lashley is on ECW....................end spoiler*** Along with these two and Nitro, theres not an overwhelming amount of young talent thats gonna be really held down.
Secondary (IC title)- Currently the scene on both shows is thin. Theres only a few guys being utilized and it gets repetitive. By bringing the shows together you can have a slightly larger IC division and room for midcarder to work their way to this title...
MidCard- This is one of the biggest problems. Each show only has a few guys who really stand out as solid midcard stars who are over (like the old one brand times) and the rest is a lot of crap. A strengthened Cruiserweight division, more divas in the womens division, and most notably a bigger pool of midcard workers would work well. Perhaps even with the reintroduction of the European title.
The Tag Team division- The aspect that would most benefit from this. By combining the two shows, crap teams can be dropped, the very few good teams can fued among eachother and new teams can be formed/reunited.
The other thing to keep in mind with all this, is though you're condensing to one brand, you still have twice the tv time and pay per views to work with. With one federation, champion, and a full time ppv and bi-weekly schedule more credibility is gained.
What are the cons? I dont see anyone getting buried more than they currently are and I only see a strengthening of the overall quality of the roster, title divisions, and freshness in fueds.
Of course I'm theorizing this based on Raw and SD! combining, but ECW remaining the second brand. Therefore RVD and CM Punk would still be safe over there. I think it would also pose the oppurtunity to strenghten the ECW roster, while keeping the unified WWE from being too crowded. By sending guys like Benoit and Rey over there so they dont get lost in the cracks.

Testing my patience at this point. Don't watch SD nor ECW. Raw is barely even being watched now...maybe a total of 20 mins...rest is all MNF.

Voted bad and getting worse. Simply because if I tune into Raw, I get a male stripper prancing around. Or DX segments galore. Not to mention seeing Umaga continue to squash mid-carders right and left. If I tune to ECW, 9 times out of 10 I see the same damn people I saw on Raw...or worse....I see Khali. I tune into Smackdown, and I get treated to seeing another storyline involving Eddie Guerrero's name, or someone eating worms and spewing them into someone elses mouth.....Right.
