Well...unless you count Canadian Crippla, NERF and Rectul Pertuder...everyone seems to have wonderful inslight
Anyways, I just bought an 360 this past weekend and am playing Madden, but due to having to just buy the core system at the moment, switched between the 360 and PS2 version (which I can play online atm)
Anyways, I'm trying to deceide at the moment, what will be the next game I get for my new 360
The top 2 candiates are
Deadrising & Gears Of War
Deadrising was the game I saw the commercial for that made me want the X-Box 360 in the first place, hundreds of Zombies unscreen at one time, almost everything can be used as an weapon...seems like an great game
Gears Of War - is the one game, that was so hyped, and because I didn't have an 360, I really didn't care what so ever...then Sunday, even thru I've seen the preview for it atleast 5 times, the first time I saw it...when I had an 360...I instantely wanted it.
I'm trying to deceide between thoses two...Other possible games I want but not highly sought after so far are
Project 8 - I've have owned every Tony Hawk game at one time, with the exception of 2...Tony Hawk 3 was the first game I ever bought for my PS2 and really enjoyed it...not so much with the next 3 sequels, but American Wasteland returned alot of gameplay hours to me...wondering id I should take another gamble on Project 8
Smackdown v. Raw 2007 - I bought it for PS2, about a week ago, enjoy it, but the controls, I'm trying to get used too....I still technically have 2 days to exchange it in with an receipt and just pay the difference for the 360 version.
I'm just trying to get everyone opinions on what should be my next 360 buy, other then the Madden, I have already received

I will proberly just drop Tony Hawk: Project 8 off the list...
knowing my mom who I beleive is trying or has gotten me an Wii for Christmas, knowing her, the Tony Hawk game (is it Project 8 or Downhill Jam for the Wii) will be one of the games she would buy me without asking me what I wanted, since in the past, she known me to spend to save up for 3 weeks back in 10th grade, when I didn't have an job yet, to buy the First Tony Hawk game for N64...followed by her getting me 3 when she bought me an PS2 for Christmas in 2001, and got me underground 2 for my birthday one year.

Gears of War from what I am told is in some people opinions the new Halo, It has wicked battle engine, nice array of weapons, and a very clever reload system, also the co-op modes are fun, and the online play is said to be beautiful, the only downside i have heard about is the short story.
Deadrising - I haven't heard much about, so I can't comment.
Tony Hawks - you will likely be bored of within a week like most xtreme games
SvR2007 - IMO, The game looks, and appears to be a pile of crap, from reading the SvR2007 Thread. Anyways thats just my opinion.

Slugs is right, Dead Rising is a game that you will defiantly like regardless of your taste. But let me ask you this, so you like shooters? More so do you like shooters with challenge? If you answered yes to either of these know that Gears of War is the Mecca of all shooters. When you play, know you've got the best. If you answered no to either of these then go for Dead Rising.
I'd go with none of them. Dead Rising is fun for a little but it can get boring and the replay value can dwindle on experience. Gears of War is nice looking but, for me, it wasn't that fun. If you have SvR07 for the PS2 then don't bother getting the 360 version. No need.
If you're in the mood for a shooter, get Rainbow Six: Vegas. Suppose to be the best shooter on the 360. Call of Duty 3 is also fun to play.

I'll be honest with you.
Go with Dead Rising. Great storyline, and it's a race against the clock to get everything done.
Gears of War is great and all. But It's like Halo 2. It's really short. You can knock it out in a weekend of playing.

I died on Legendary Mode on Halo 2...in 3 minutes once, does that count..
Shooters are somewhat shaky ground for me...At times I enjoy them for the fact, I can go around...shooting and killing, but at the same time, get a little frustrated.
I mean, on N64...I loved Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter
I really liked Fry Cry...and I feel in love with Halo 1..
Have Halo 3 Legendary on pre-order

Dead Rising FTW.
Was my main reason for getting a 360, and didn't disappoint me. That isn't to say that GoW sucks, because it's awesome too. But Dead Rising is all that and a bag of chips.
god damnit im gonna have to get dead rising tomorrow

UmbellaCorp..
Think you're a little bias considering that, your name is based on an fictional company that it's products turned into Zombies and Biological Weapons of Destrustion...
But who gives a shit, because mine and your business is Life itself.

I would...but to use American Agents, or Soldiers is an turn off for me..
I mean...jesus I'm Canadian
Don't mind when it's the human race united as something...Plus never been a fan of the Rainbow Six series, and Past War Simulations really don't do anything for me, unless I can be an fighter pilot

having played and beat both, i can honestly say if your a big online player: Gears. If your just in it for single player, Dead Rising has some pretty good replay value and gives you enough reason to go back and play over and over.

Yeah, I plan on going online after the new year, since I need to invest in the Hard Drive, and another controller, before I make the commitment to X-Box live.

11-21-2006, 01:47 AM
if i were you, id invest in the hard drive, dont worry about the extra controller, and buy the wireless mic for the 360. I fn LOVE the wireless headset.

Did anyone try Saints Row online yet?

ask Extreme Angle, before Gears and SvR, all he fuckin played was Saints Row...

Did anyone else here try it though, because to me it seems like an online, better customizable version of San Andreas, and actually made me consider more, getting the XBOX360 among other things.

Lego Star Wars 2. :shifty:
if i were to use my wireless controller on another 360, is there any sort of setup or what.
You would have to sync it to the 360. All you do is hold down the little white button between the bumpers on the top of the controller until the logo starts going in a circle and there is also a little white button on the front of the 360 near the power button that you hold down. Then they will both blink at the same time and you're done.

you could rent both of them and see which you like better.

It depends. if you love shooters and play them religiously Vegas is definatly your best bet, especially online (Stupid Gears of War fucking cheaters.) but Gears is definatly a more pick up and play game.
I do <3 Dead Rising, if the sequelhas co-op multi-plyer I will be all over that. From your initial 2 though Gears> Dead Rising.

Good point, but unless you have your account backed by a major credit card (the Blockbuster nears me does this) you can't rent PS3, Wii, or 360 games.
Mister Sinister
11-21-2006, 03:26 PM
Yeah, that's the problem for me at the time...our local video store, doesn't have 360 games, however have to admit, has an collection of XBox and Ps2 Games that makes Blockbuster look small.
My Debut Card (Which is an Visa I beleive) is being resent to me, after an incedent on Ebay that had my bank account hacked and left in the negative...I received everything back...so I will eventully be able to rent stuff again, however I always been one of thoses, who will just go out and buy something, just to have it, if I think it looks interesting enough.
I'm going to get both gears of war and Deadrising, since I work at the mall, so EBGames is right there where I work...I'll proberly go with Deadrising first since it will be the cheaper of the two.

THP8 and SVR 07 are getting their fair share of good/crap reviews from gamers in general, I dont know much about Dead Rising, but I've heard Gears Of War is amazing.

Dead Rising is awesome. It was the game that made me buy my 360, but unless you have HDTV, you will have trouble reading the text, which is a huge buzzkill.
Gears of War is fucking insane, you will eventually have to get this. I'm not really a huge shooter fan, but I loved every minute of it.

Today is that day I have to make that decesion.
Fuck Smackdown v. Raw 2007 - The more I play the game, the less I want it...I'm seriously just about to trade in my PS2 copy, because i guess my total interest in wrestling has just completely died that I don't even want anything wrestling related anymore
I'm leaning more towards Deadrising at the moment, but depending on how much i get for Smackdown v. Raw 2007 with my 10% added to Trade ins...might just pick both up.
ChiefStubbs
11-24-2006, 09:54 AM
Dead Rising. You should just buy two copies.

Is that Stubbs the Zombie in your Avatar?!?!?
Extreme Angle

Go for gears of war, online co-op is amazing with a friend (alot of us here at TPWW have the game and will gladly help you  ) and the online matches are amazing...
Chainsaw FTW!

Is that Stubbs the Zombie in your Avatar?!?!?
Eh, yeah. A friend made it; it's Stubbs with a pirate hat and a parrot, but the parrot flies off, the head explodes, and then another parrot flies back on, bringing another head, going in a loop. The animation stopped working when I resized it for TPWW.

Fuck the new Tony Hawk game, it is really fuckin boring and it lags like crazy on the 360. Only a milked franchise can get away with releasing piece of shit games like that. I hope the next game doesn't suck balls or they should just stop making them.
