The Ashes are 2 days away & the result isn't in doubt, but instead how much.

This year the Poms won't be able to cheat with reverse swing, and McGrath is actually playing.

(Poll to follow)

I picked the number closest to 7.

But if i could write in a vote, i'd just choose 7..not 7-0. 7

How the fuck is reverse swing cheating?

Ignore him, unless Australia have a better than good chance of beating England at something he doesn't care

It's cheating when you mix your saliva with the mint that you're chewing and then spread it all over the ball.

You can't have a result of 7-0 in a 5 game series.

Yeah it's a pity that he probly won't be umpiring many more games in the future. :(

Now we're going to actually have to earn 1-2 more wickets per test match. :(

Fuck I hate DH, he's the worst fucken umpire in the history of the game, SO BIAS TOWARDS AUSSIE.
Still he was hard done by over the fucken Paki's, who were taking steroids anyway.

Aussie will thrash England, Whitewash.

Pakis have been cheating for ages, whenever a white person cheats then they are a cheat, but whenever an Asian cheats then everybody else is being racist.

NZ needs to learn how to cheat so that they will be competitive.

lol I remember when Sri Lanka destroyed us and Muralithuran (spelling anyone?) took like 17 wickets and everyone cried cheat and he's not heard the end of it since, even though its been pretty much proven that he doesn't cheat and that he has a uniquely formed arm which just happens to be perfect for his style of attack

Wow. Good be an innings defeat. Good job I don't really care about cricket too much. I predict 3-1 Aussies.

Can somebody please explain cricket and it's scoring to me? I get that the pitcher (bowler?) tries to knock over the wickets and the batter tries to hit the ball, but I really don't get more than that. You get a point for everytime you run to the other line. But how the fuck does the game last days and what else goes on during the game? If I wanted to look it up myself I would.

four if the ball bounces before going over the field outside borderline 6 if it doesnt. Both teams bat and field twice in a test match.

Bad Company
11-24-2006, 04:53 PM
Well maybe Australia won't need to bat twice in the first test.

They had to change the rules of the game to allow him to play.

That's not what we do. I guess it's the difference between Aussie and English fans really, theirs are a lot louder than ours and that goes for any sport really. We're generally content to sit there, shut up and only make noise when we score.

Also stickman watch cricket for like half an hour, you'll pick up everything you need to know.

Stickman I have grown up with cricket and I still don't get it. Only the poms could invent a game that takes 5 fucking days to play and then add a clause that means there can still be no result AFTER FIVE FUCKING DAYS!!!

That being said, there won't be any draws this series, the Aussies are too good and the poms are their usual selves.

I'm going to watch my curtians fade with daylight savings.

Y2C

Yeah, unless England are able to enforce the follow-on, I don't think they'll win it as they batted too slowly and for too long. Freddie's the only bowler who's looked like getting a wicket for them all series, so he needs some help from Harmison & Hoggard if England are going to be a chance to win.

Well the poms goit 550 and declared, Ponting got dropped so he'll be good for 100.

I'll check back in 3 days time to see if anythings actually happened.

Well well well it looks like it will end in a draw (something I'll never understand, and the reason cricket is such a shit game - apart from the boring nothingness that happens for 5 days)

Seriously how can anyone watch this crap.

No idea. Even when I think I'm getting to grips with understanding the game, I instantly fall asleep with pure boredom.

Some Aussie dude asked me about the Ashes series in Subway the other day. I told him I'd rather watch Ortiz vs. Liddell II :D

But eitherway, we keep the Urn and thats the important thing.</font>

Adam Gilchrist scored 100 in 90 mins on Sunday.

That would take a soccer player 200 years to do.

The important thing is who wins the series.

I don't see Freddie Flintoff going "oh well, we got flogged 3 games in a row, but atleast we get to keep the urn."
