I give major props to both men. I figured it to be a spot fest and it was, but there was also some psychology to the match.
Hardy's swanton onto the ladder was SICK.
I LOVED how both men had the crowd eating out of their hands by selling their injuries. Hardy's back, Nitro's ribs, it was amazing.
They let those two guys go at it for between 20-25 minutes. When they had the Flair Edge TLC match a few months ago on RAW it was ok. This match was amazing. Could very well be match of the year for Raw broadcasts.

yeah i really liked this match also. I really do wonder how bad that swanton had to hurt. It kinda felt like they were trying to move Nitro outta the Heel
(just my opinion)

the match was real good, maybe we'll see it again when the ladder match dvd set comes out the latter part of 2007

I just watched this match about 20 minutes ago and the aspect I enjoyed the most, was the fact that the spots were kept to a minimum yet the match felt like it lived up to all the spotty ladder matches were used to seeing in the past.
The spots these two did utilize were very smartly placed and well constructed. The match was not JUST a car crash with a dozen high risks moves like we are used to seeing with modern day ladder matches. It was a very safe and spectacular match.

Too bad whenever they have a standard match it blows.

I wouldn't go as far as match of the year contender but yeah, it was good. The ladder match concept has kind of suffered over the past years though so it's going to take some people who are REALLY innovative to have a classic ladder match.

No one has mentioned Johnny Nitro's drop kick to Jeff Hardy from the second to top rung of the ladder, that was amazing. I was working today on an 8 foot ladder and I was on the second to top rung and I could barley balance let alone jump off of that above the height of the ladder and land a dropkick.
i haven't watched raw in like 4 months but happend to be watching this match yesterday... and yeah it was damn good

Nitro is growing leaps and bounds. I still hope they bring in Joey Mercury to feud with him. I'll be watching the match later today.

Yeah, it was a good match. What bugged me was Nitro kept turning the ladder upside-down so he can hit Jeff with it.

If you think about it, the only botched move was where Nitro went to hit Hardy with the ladder in the gut and hit him in the knee instead.

I found it funny that when Jeff Hardy grabbed the title, he threw himself off the ladder for absolutely no reason. I mean, he was standing on the ladder when he grabbed the title, he just wanted to add some drama.

Too bad that the most innovative spot was during the commercial break.

I thought the aforementioned dropkick off the ladder was more innovative. We've seen people do dropkicks off the ladder to someone in the ring but not someone on the ladder

It was pretty decent, though I might've enjoyed it more in a better Raw.

I agree. RAW was lacking again. It was just more or less buildup for Survivor Series. I like that they are putting Carlito and Masters back into a feud. Can you say Torrie Wilson heel turn?
