Rock.
Metal (Preferably non-screaming, but I'll take screaming over faggoty power metal)
Acoustic, non-country. Folk preferred.
Goth, preferably nothing too emo in the process. Been Listening to Bauhaus lately.

You can even suggest pop, but it had better be really fucking good pop. If they have a Myspace page, great. If they have a website, also great. Neither necessary. I'm just in such a fucking musical rut right now.

Check out Mark Kozelek. You may know him from Red House Painters or Sun Kil Moon.

For your Metal needs:

Children of Bodom
- Something Wild
- Hatebreeder
- Follow The Reaper

These albums are their best work. I'm not sure you'll dig Hate Crew Deathroll, as it's slower, heavier and less complex for the most part. Hatebreeder is their best album by far, followed by SW and FTR. Anything after Hate Crew Deathroll is shit. The vocals are pretty much screamy nonsense, but the actual instruments and the vocal melodies are more important anyway. Kinda my favourite band atm.

Death
-Human
-Leprosy

Accept
-Balls To The Wall
-Breaker
-Objection overuled

They've got more albums, but these are the ones I have. If you like this, check out U.D.O., the singer's solo ish.

Aria-Megalomania

Russian band, only album I've heard, great stuff.

Pokolgep
-Metal Az Esz

I forgot which country they're from. Same deal as Aria.

Torture Squad
-Pandemonium

I forgot which country they're from. Same deal as Aria.

X-Japan
-X

Japanese metal. I had all their albums at one point, but I only have X right now. Solid album. There are a few songs in the 7 - 10 minute range.

Manowar
-Hail To England
-Sign of the Hammer
-Louder Than Hell
-Kings of Metal

Ridiculous, slighty homoerotic and fucking awesome. They have more albums, but I like these best.

Metalium
-Hero Nation - Chapter Three
-State of Triumph - Chapter Two
-Millenium Metal - Chapter One

Power Metal. Not super faggoty, like any band with the word "dragon" somewhere in the name. There are five chapters in all, but I've only heard these. Hero Natin is the best.

Sinergy
-Suicide By My Side
-Beware The Heavens

Alexi Laiho from hildren Of Bodom does the lead guitar here. I wouldn't call it Bodom with female vocals, but it's good shit, nonetheless. They have 2 other albums, but I haven't heard them.

Wow. I've heard about half of them, including owning stuff by Manowar and CoB. But I'll check them out.

Probably not my first choice, but some solid listening tunes on there. Probably buy an album or something.

Pinetop seven looks like they use similar styled art to the Stone Coyotes. I'm listening to record right now, or at least 'til my hand uncramps and I can rape my guitar again, so I'll look later.

Bedlight for Blueeyes, might not be your thing but the guy has a good voice (I think so anyway) http://www.myspace.com/bedlightforblueeyes

Alos, I'd accept some 90s alternative style acts, provided, again, they were somewhat decent. I blame this sudden lapse of nostalgia on hearing "Counting Blue Cars" on TV ("Tell me all your thoughts on God//Coz I'd really like to see Her....").

Dishwalla!

I would reccomend the Silversun Pickups (pop-ish) and 3 Inches of Blood (metal). Also, add Death's album The Sound of Perserverance to their album list. The last CD that Chuck recorded under the Death name, and by far his best work.

I already have a SSP record. Bought 'em a while back because they sounded kind of Pixies-ish. Good shit.

Army of Anyone

Light, fluffy rock? Dunno. There about 3 tracks on there that more grunge sounding like the old STP days.

Children of Bodom

KK owns a couple of their records. Needs more. Will buy eventually.

Death

Had fuck all luck finding them online. I think it's primarily the generic name.

Aria-Megalomania

Own a disc by them, I think this one, but don't remember them particularly well.

Pokolgep

Downloaded, but wasn't too big on them.

Torture Squad
-Pandemonium

Them I just ain't looked for yet.

X-Japan
-X

Passed. Didn't much like.

Manowar

I own two of their records. They're decent, and a few songs really stuck out to me, which is why I picked 'em up.

Metalium

Downloading a torrent currently.

Sinergy

Same as the above.

Ya done good, Funk.

I'm working on finding Vaquiero's shit now. Going sequentially, but had limited resources for downloading of late (Spending a lot of time using the web for job searching and shit).

Also, just john is never allowed to post in here again.

If you ever heard of the song "Interstate Love Song" by Stone Temple Pilots (which is that 90's alt that you were talking about), then thats what Army of Anyone's album sounds like.

Metalium: Just purchased a couple CDs on the cheap.

Pinetop seven: Just ordered a couple from their website.

Julie Fowlis: Listening to her Myspace songs. Sounds pretty decent, may or may not buy. A major plus though, since she works with one of the folks from Danú.
