Ok. I used to be a huge RVD fan. However, lately, I have really grown to dislike him. Frankly I don't want him to win the title at December to Dismember, definatly I'd rather punk won it.

Has any1 else begun to dislike RVD lately?

It has been awhile since he has had a great match, but that is not his fault, they are just not using him properly

And sadly niether punk or RVD are going to get the title

Test or Lashley are walking out Champ.

Also, RVD has no reason to put forth effort. McMahon has stated he has no intention of giving RVD the belt again since he A) doesn't think RVD can draw well and B) he got busted while he was champ. Oh well. He is over the hill anyway.

I was enjoying him as champion, but that ended all too quickly with his drug bust. I wish that didn't happen because it was nice to finally see him with the belt.

RVD finally broke through the glass ceiling and fucked it up.

I'm still a huge fan. I recently got a video of ECW Guilty as Charged 2001 off Ebay and it had RVD VS Jerry Lynn in a fucking crazy match.

RVD is definitely the goods. And he can cut a friggin' good promo when he's allowed to.

Crippla, you were unbanned, you don't need to continue with T4C anymore.

And yes, I've said it before and I will say it 100 times more. Jerry Lynn is better than Rob Van Dam.

How long does R-V-Weed have left on his contract? I wouldn't mind seeing him become "Mr. Thursday Night."

The Naitch
11-27-2006, 02:10 AM
he was Mr. thursday night for like a while already. That went nowhere

sadly, RVD is going nowhere. He will continue to be smoking his blunts in midcard hell. He fucked up

That was in the same company. Who's on Thursday now?

How does one properly use a drug addict?

Testicle

he smokes some pot, that doesn't effect his in ring performances

he smoked when he was awesome in ecw, why can't he now

Because WWE shouldn't be asked to bail their champion out of jail or rearrange their schedule because the retard can't make his touring obligations?

The guy didn't just "smoke some pot." The moron actually was baked in a vehicle, driving erratically. He got caught, he'll get caught again. This is bad for a company pretending it cares about their wellbeing, and it's bad for business.

Testicle

ok, getting chaught the second time, while he was champ was bad for him and for the company, I get that

I just don't see how you can not use one of your best talents

Kane Knight

Asset management. A drug addict used as a main eventer is bad. Especially when you're touring, rather than operating out of a bingo hall.

Being a good talent is counterweighted by the risk, especially now that you've been caught once.

I'm still a huge fan. I recently got a video of ECW Guilty as Charged 2001 off Ebay and it had RVD VS Jerry Lynn in a fucking crazy match.

Unfortunately, that was more than five years ago, and I doubt RVD has the motivation or physical ability to perform to this level anymore.

RVD is definitely the goods. And he can cut a friggin' good promo when he's allowed to.

He will never be allowed to. Think of ONS as an anomaly, like Shane Douglas throwing down the NWA title or Russo firing Hogan. It was an unusual situation and he'll never find himself in a position to pull a promo like that off ever again.

I don't care what he is on...when he gets to he is the best damn wrestler there is! But as things are know I am allmost hoping he will jump to TNA...then I would actually see TNA! And i have never done that before...but with RVD...I definately would!

I just think its an excuse to not give him the title again. Even if you argue he can't draw as champion on Raw, he certainly can in ECW. He's their top guy.
And saying that hes a drug user is crappy too. He smokes weed. I don't think it holds a candle to the drunken/coked up incidents that others have been involved in. Like Flair and Shawn Michaels didn't use drugs and stir contreversy while they were on top...
Its all about business, the company image and drug use/arrest thing is just a guise.
Stone Cold gets arrested for domestic abuse multiple times, but hes still a draw and Vince would use him in a heartbeat. Same with Flair, Shawn Michaels and others
RVD and Road Dogg smoke weed and thats their excuse for blacklisting them? its other things. They have no problem with them talking about smoking when it draws money, but when they want out of pushing them for whatever reason its just a convenient excuse.

I also think it should be noted that they probably never wanted/intended to give RVD the belt in the first place, or else they would have sooner. They did it as a launching pad for the new ECW, and out of an obligation to him and fans pretty much. He was arguably the greatest wrestler to not hold a major world title at the time (along with Piper in my mind). After he won the WWE title and was awarded the ECW title, it probably wouldnt have been much longer before he lost both and was to never be champ again anyways.
RVD probably wont win another world title or even do anything good unless he goes to TNA, where they'll blow their load and ruin him probably.

Dunno how anyone can say RVD is better than Lynn.

Jeritron
11-28-2006, 05:30 AM
Personally, I'd say RVD is better than Lynn, but its all a matter of opinion. One things for sure, they had great in ring chemistry and made for some great matches. They're at a level where you can make a case for either, theres not really a right or wrong answer beyond preference. Its like arguing over whos better in Angle vs Benoit, or Bret vs Shawn Michaels.

As for Lynn/RVD, I'd take RVD over Lynn any day. Lynn is a better technical wrestler; I'll grant you that, but Rob Van Dam makes up for it with his exciting high flying, and I personally find him to be more entertaining in interviews and whatnot than Lynn. Lynn to me is a lot like Chris Benoit, whom I'm not really a fan of. I like Lynn, but I like RVD better.

When it comes to him being thrown out of the title picture and whatnot, I'm sorry, but whether you like RVD or you don't, RVD screwed RVD.

RVD will never be a major champion again. In fact, I'm shocked he's not been in a Arkansas Hog Pen match yet. Or renamed Terra Ryzin.

Mr. JL
11-29-2006, 10:47 AM
RVD and Lynn's styles are so different from one another it really is difficult to compare and contrast them. I would agree that Lynn is the overall, more well rounded of the two, but the areas that RVD excels in; HE FUCKING EXCELS IN! And when it comes down to drawing ability, RVD's style and presence will outdraw anything Lynn has got.

Both are over the hill though. RVD especially looks over the hill when you compare his early Invasion work to his work nowadays. Plus, being involved in a company that is as stale as the WWE does not help him too much either.

Technically, RVD woudl be Mr. Friday Night. That's the only thing that woudl be new.
