View Full Version : Michael Richards' skit on Raw (Spoilers may happen not that it matters)

That skit was absolutely terrible, even worse than the Ric Flair thing. It was not funny, clever, witty, or well thought up. Vince Russo is that you?
I coudlnt' believe how they did the close up of JR and King making it seem legit and important. Then they go show that retarded piece of crap, I probably would've thrown shit at the ring.
Katie Vick didn't offend me as a wrestling fan as bad as this did.

well i wasnt as pissed as Sticky there, but i do agree that it was a waste of time...but then again, WWE programming is a waste of time. God i miss the glory days, when i HAD to watch Raw/Nitro, couldnt miss it for ANYTHING. I havent watch a full episode of Raw in at least 8 months.

JR and King get a close up, go off about how we're going to see something that isn't appropriate and has some extremely foul language, blah blah blah, making it seem like somebody died a grusome death.
So they cut to a fake Michael Richards rant in a comedy club. Basically re creating the infamous rant. Then Cryme Time went on stage, talked ebonics, then kicked the actor in the head and stole his wallet.
I'm so upset because it was just painful acting, painful that they decided to even do it, painful that it has nothing to do with wrestling. It was just a terrible waste of time. Fuck, I'm sure youtube has enough mock videos, I'm watching Raw for "wrestling" and storylines and all that fun stuff, but this was just so stupid. Why do I watch when they waste time with boring, unoriginal, unfunny shit like that?

It was really, really, really terrible.

It was lame, but Stickman's blown out of proportion.
Trips, They did a Cryme Tyme skit where they basically had some white guy up on stage, he makes a couple of bad jokes, and then wigs out on people like Richards did on the tape. Then Cryme Tyme show up. I dunno. It was lousy, so I idn't pay attention.

I'm not blowing it out of proportion, all I said was that I thought it was offending me worse than the Katie Vick thing as a wrestling fan.

It was just so sad the way they were desperately trying to cling to the mainstream.
And it was embarrisingly unfunny.

Jeses, it wasn't THAT bad! Not Katie Vick bad.
Sure it wasn't good or anything, but it served a purpose and got Cryme Tyme on TV, was probably just a quick shot to get some more mainstream exposure

That's blowing it out of proportion.
Though I was more talking about the "probably throw shit in the ring" line.
This was bad, but it's barely worse than K-Fed.

I'd throw shit in the ring because had I been at Raw I would've spent good money to get tickets and they decide to waste my time with that kind of shit.
You want to give TV time to Cryme Tyme why not have them cut a promo or I dunno, wrestle?
BTW, I love how the new hip thing is to misspell werdz.

It was an abosulte terrible skit. It was Horrible, but it wasn't offensive like Katie Vick was.
It was just really stupid and terrible.

Meh, there was something worse than the segment last night.

It was stupid and wasn't very entertaining, but it was just a throw away one time peice of crap. Doesn't really bother me to such an enormous extent.
Heres the difference:
Katie Vick was worse because it was part of a main event/world title storlyine and fued.
Same with Big Show being dragged from his father's casket.
Those are abominations, this is just everyday wrestlecrap that we'll forget about in a few weeks.

I haven't see the whole segment, but Nick Berk seemed fine in it, and Cryme Tyme looked pretty good when they got on the stage. It wasn't good by any stretch, but I don't think I'd call it bad.
I'd call it a mediocre segment at best, that served one effective purpose: Kept Cryme Tyme on TV. I just hope they don't over produce these Cryme Tyme segments. The WWE has been giving John Cena and DX too much help with their segments, adding in "boing" sounds, or providing them with jazzy entrances. It doesn't help. It makes them look like golden boys, which is not good for "rebels". It's like pushing the Mean Street Posse as a legit badass babyface team. It isn't going to work.
Save the production values for guys like Mike Knox, Test, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, who could really use attention-grabbing entrances, etc.

On a side note, i'd just like to say generally how much i'm enjoying Cryme Tyme, considering they are hardly wrestling, they are doing a great job of getting themselves over with there promos and vignettes.

I did think it sucked, obviously. Katie Vick? I honestly didn't think that was as bad as most did, so I don't know.

Bingo

Youell said that it was a "shot" at mainstream exposure. That's not saying it was successful. It was too stupid and hokey to be successful, even at entertaining anybody. I chuckled when I heard Cryme Tyme's music come on, but that's about it, and that's because I expect comedy from CT everytime they're on.

The reason I compare it to Katie Vick was because it was a pointless waste of time. I wasn't offended by the Katie Vick thing in the sense that it was sick, I was offended by how useless it was. It would probably be on par with the bossman/big show funeral thing. Not offensive in the OMG that's sick, kind of way, just the bad acting and useless waste of time and talent kind of way.

I thought the segment was funny. It was pop culture relevant and showed that the WWE is up to date with current news.

To get a "Shot" at mainstream exposure, they really need to first get people to care.
My point, by the way, was that they failed.
before reading this thread i thought its purpose was just to get cryme tyme on TV and make people laugh... and so I thought it was funny
but if it turly is a pathetic attempt to get into the mainstream then yeah it's pretty terrible
