Yay, another "Last Ride" match. :|

I see a Batista/Booker Rematch. I really don't see any other match getting put together in time around the title.

Kennedy vs Taker doesnt interest me.

But Kane vs MVP, inferno match is gonna happen. And you know what, I hope MVP burns Kane's face and Kane comes back masked again. You wanna talk about a rehashed storyline I would fall in love with. This is it

I completely agree. They need to re-invent Kane by going back to his long haired/masked version. So its re-hashed, oh well, smackdown needs this and so does Kane.

I'm thinking MVP will lose, as he has more ring gear. But if Kane loses and goes back to the mask, no long hair this time. If they remask him, keep him pale and bald, a la Jason Voorhees. It brings back the old feel with a fresher style.

Also, as lame a stipulation as a Last Ride Match is, Kennedy has been impressive with the beatings he can take. I'm looking forward to both matches.

Can someone remind me what a "last ride" match is?

Jeritron

I'm assuming it just means whoever delivers the Last Ride first wins.
Also, I hope we don't see another Booker vs Batista match for the title.
Traditionally they've used December and the other winter PPVS to push other guys against the champion who likely won't win the title or go to wrestlemanias ME, but can benefit from a brief title push or even reign. It keeps the long awaited wrestlemania matchup more epic and fresh and builds up the champion
97/98: Shamrock, Taker
98/99: Foley, even though he went on to win for a little while
99: Big Show and *sigh* Bossman
00/01: Kurt Angle got a reign in, Rikishi
02/03: Benoit and Steiner
03/04: Kane and Holly
05/06: Mark Henry
06/07: Looks like Umaga, and how about Finlay on the Smackdown side of things

Can someone remind me what a "last ride" match is? It's pretty much an Ambulance Match (http://www.wwe.com/inside/specialtymatches/ambulance) except using a hearse in place of an ambulance.

Jeritron

okay then I'm wrong, thats still lame but a little less lame.
Undertaker, the king of the gimmick match.

The Casket Match
The Boiler Room Brawl
The Buried Alive Match
The Cage above the ring
The Hell in a Cell
The Inferno Match
and now The LAST RIDE MATCH

I see Booker T dropping the "King" gimmick, just so the WWE can add fire to the feud between Batista and Booker. You know they're going to do the match again, and the two don't have enough chemistry to draw buys as it is.

The Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy in a Last Ride Match would be shit. How about The Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. MVP in a Last Ride Match? The winner is the first man to lock an opponent in the hearst. MVP and Kennedy work together, and get the draw victory over Taker.

What does Kane do? A match with Finlay would be sweet. Finlay is awesome, and Kane has been working some great matches since he's been shipped to Smackers. Put Kane over clean. If they wanted to re-invent the character, when he first left RAW would have been the time.

It won't happen, though. Kane will go over MVP, The Undertaker will beat Kennedy, and Batista will retain the World Title in a match no one watches.

Holy shit! An idea just came to me. You know what I'd love to see? Kane beats MVP in the Inferno Match. Porter wears a lot of clothing to protect himself, but Kane just wears his usual attire. The match is closer than one would think, but MVP loses, and Kane has won his feud with MVP. Kane then sticks his face in the fire!

How sweet would it be to see Kane willingly get in touch with that monster, again? To deliberately burn his face, condemning him back to the mask? If it results in a Kane push, I am fine with it.

Kane would willingly just stick his face in the fire.

If that happens...

A) WE know the writers have lost their mind

B) I'll pop the way I did when Foley beat Rock for the title

Poor Kane, jobbing in a cage to MVP and now more than likely jobbing in his specialist match to him as well.

The only good thing that could come from it as others have said is for a return to the mask. Have him disappear and reappear at the Rumble as the mystery entrant. Have him win and beat Batista at Mania for the title, of which he totally totally deserves.

WTF? I mean storyline-wise, you nutjob. :p

They're obvious going to get some kind of safety flame for the match, simply because, neither guy is fully-clothed, and is going to go into it. Kane could just put his face in for a second, and oversell like a motherfucker.

I know you meant storyline-wise. That's what I mean: I don't see anyone risking the safety of his face for a storyline.

Bonson burners, or whatever the fuck they're called, give off a flame which gives off a stretch of flame which doesn't burn. I've put my hand through it many times. I'm not sure if the effect can be replicated to the size adequate for an Inferno Match, but I'd have to assume so, because the WWE is putting two guys in the match, neither of whom is fully clothed. It'd be stupid as fuck to see both guys go down in alfoil suits for the match.

MVP wears a giant body suit. You could very easily light him on fire.

MVP wears a giant body suit. You could very easily light him on fire.

It'd be risky as fuck, though. His legs and his face would be exposed. He could light his arm on fire, but that would be pussy shit. I doubt the WWE would go that route, again.

Love the inferno...I just get really excited when there are flames around the ring :p
But I would prefer taker and kennedy in a buried alive match...just think they are way cooler then last ride matches...

I STILL wanna know who the fuck Kennedy pissed off in the back to be teamed up with a piece of shit like MVP?! He deserves better. I really wanna see him turn face or at least be a tweener.

I think that they should keep Kennedy as he is...He might not be face right now...but he has earned my respekt in this feud with the undertaker...he isn't backing down...he isn't running scared (all the time)...and I am actually starting to like the guy! :wtf:

Mr. Nerfect
12-01-2006, 08:45 PM

Yes, I did, thank you. Anyway, if the WWE can get flames like that, just so the very tip of the flame is not enough to cause mass burning, Kane can just quickly swipe through it, and pretend it burnt like fuck.

Well, that's going to look great on paper: every single Inferno Match the WWE ever does has the guy's sleeve on fire, with him running to the back.

If the WWE didn't have some way to make the match interesting, they should have just let it die off completely.
