Well, we lucky Brits are getting it free, which is lucky because after the atrocious Survivor Series, I would never have paid for it.

Anyway only two matches have been announced. I'll provide results for those who are interested.

At least those two matches are quite promising, anyway.

Well, we open with the backstory to tonight's main event, The Extreme Elimination Chamber. Big Show vs Test vs Sabu vs RVD vs CM Punk vs Lashley.

They have a big, elaborate WWE-style stage. This really is WWECW.

Joey Styles and Tazz on commentary.

Wouldn't it be horrible if one of the WWE's heavy cage structures were to fall from the ceiling one day? Hope they use heavy duty equipment for that shit.

ECW has SPANISH ANNOUNCERS now??

We're kicking off with MNM vs The Hardyz.

I call a Joey Mercury turn in this match.

NeanderCarl

It doesn't bode well that the two teams in the opening match (one of the only announced matches at that) get virtually no reaction from the crowd.

Imagine the crowd reactions when the likes of FBI and Balls Mahoney arrive later.

And what a way to kick off ECW's first non-reunion PPV under the WWE banner! Raw's Jeff Hardy and SmackDown's Matt Hardy vs Raw's Johnny Nitro and SmackDown's Joey Mercury.

Hmmm.

NeanderCarl

Even though I'm not a fan of their rehashed angle, it would be sweet for VKM (formerly New Age Outlaws) to come out of the crowd and interfere in this match in some way.

I mean, I know it would have to be a shoot if they did that, and it won't happen, but at least it would stir things up a little.

Well the hard camera side does, but then it's quite a small building anyway. Smaller than your average Raw/SmackDown venue, methinks, plus the stage is HUGE.

You think this makes Paul Heyman proud?

NeanderCarl

"She's a crack-whore" chants towards Melina! Guess Lita won't be missed that much after all.

WWE steered this ECW PPV away from the traditional ECW areas because of concerns about the crowd reactions. I just hope that this crowd takes it upon themselves to channel the spirit of the ECW Arena or the Hammerstein Ballroom, and start letting rip with the vulgar/creative chants anyway.

Tb1

Hardyz win with a double swanton bomb by Jeff onto both MNM members. Nearly 30 mins in length! Had to expect that on a 2 match card!!

Why can't WWE understand that ECW fans want an ALTERNATIVE to Raw and SmackDown, not more of the same.

Heyman and his guards show up, and fans chant "You Sold Out". Heyman says when Hulk Hogan dies, Hulkamania dies with him. And when Ric Flair dies, the Whooos die too. But long after Heyman dies, ECW will continue to live on.

Planning on killing yourself tonight, are you Paul?

You would have thought so...but erm, with ECW PPVs in the past even if the in-ring action was sometimes atrocious, at least there were high spots to keep it going and wacky moves all over the place. It bemuses me that they could book both One Night Stands quite well, but tonight so poorly. How can you botch a spear?

It's basically a hard tackle.

The only ones I know who botch those are the Colts defense.

It basically looked like he was hugging him and they fell over and the crowd erupted in a chant of...oh wait.

You aren't wrong Carl, I remember them really bigging up No Mercy, and being completely and utterly gutted that I spent money on it.

I can see, in the UKs case, why the WWE didn't ask Sky to put it on PPV. They had no intention of putting on a decent show. At all. I only watched the 2nd half of it, but from Carls commentary on the first half, the only match of note was between Raw & SD 'reformed for a night' tag teams.

I just wonder how much longer ECW can survive. I don't think any ECW wrestler came out of this event looking any more over or having put on any sort of performance. If Lashley had come out first, and ended the match covered in his own blood holding the ECW title, you could even say that may have been iconic, especially of ECW. But he ended up with fireworks going off behind him and not looking like he broke a sweat.

Terrible, I feel for people who shelled out hard-earned on this.

Mr. Nerfect

The WWE are making it fucking hard for themselves. Hmm, let's see, we have the uber-over CM Punk, who out-popped our hardest pushed babyfaces, and merchandise movers, at his first interpromotional PPV, when he's on quite the low-rated cable show. So what does the WWE do? Job him out first. That was fucking stupid. Holly should have gone before Punk, at the very least, just to cushion the blow.

I guess I was wrong about Triple H actually liking Punk, and when he made those comments about Punk not being able to control a crowd, he wasn't being sarcastic. Because everything was done to destroy CM Punk's heat here tonight.

Even Test's sick-ass Flying Elbow wasn't enough to save that booking abomination. I hate to turn on Paul Heyman like this, because I also believe Lashley could be a huge star, but he was people's third preference to win the Elimination Chamber. You could make cases with either CM Punk or Rob Van Dam being the most over guy in the match, but Lashley is nowhere near them. He's not established enough. Sure, Punk has only been in the WWE five months, but he's got the win-loss record and following to thrive as ECW Champion.

The WWE fucked it up in the last Elimination Chamber, too. The final three were John Cena, Carlito and Chris Masters. People wanted to see Kurt Angle win it, or maybe even Kane. If I remember correctly, Shawn Michaels was in this match. Either of those three men would have been acceptable. Who was eliminated first? You betcha! Just so they can make Cena look like Superman.

We don't need Lashley looking like Superman as well. Three Supermen World Champs. Yay. All I can say is the WWE is making it hard for themselves. Sure, maybe the WWE is trying to attract a mainstream crowd, but using guys that the fans don't give a shit about (no offence to Lashley, but did you hear his reaction tonight?), and making them seem like the next big thing, when at this stage of their career, they are clearly not, is a HUGE mistake.

I was happy with my PPV purchase until CM Punk was eliminated. The opening tag team match was FANTASTIC. Matt Striker is a great wrestler, with so much potential and personality. Balls Mahoney was over, too. Daivari and Dreamer didn't put on an atrocity, nor did Kevin Thorn and Mike Knox. I liked the booking of that one, too. Everything was fine until the main event.

I seriously think CM Punk needs to go to SmackDown! after this. He needs to go work some matches with William Regal and Finlay, and get some heat back. This has left him dead in the water. Test is the guy who looked best in the Chamber, tonight, and he was pinned by Lashley rather easily. You can't exactly use him as a World Title contender. Truth be told, there is no one. They need to fold this new ECW immediately.

The booking was just so backwards...they completely buried RVD and Punk in 10 minutes to Test who then got mauled easily by Lashley, who then easily beat the Big Show. I know the idea is to put over Lashley...but he has no personality, is sloppy in the ring, has a laughable finisher and represents nothing that ECW should stand for. Like you I'm so glad this one was free because I would have paid for it in the belief that they'd pull it off. They didn't, I won't consider paying for anything until I read the results from now on.

See, I was a sucker, and bought Survivor Series as well. SS got a grading of C- from me. It wasn't dreadful, and I wasn't too pissed off I had spent money on it. But I wasn't satisfied, either. December to Dismember gets a D+ from me. It was OK, with potential to be good, until CM Punk was eliminated, and then all hope was lost when RVD went in that amazing spot. It really says something about the booking when a great match, some great spots, and Paul Heyman cannot make a PPV pass.

Rob Van Dam wants out, and I don't blame him. TNA for him, and God bless him for that. At least when you order a TNA PPV, you know you are getting a B-quality show, in match quality alone. Sabu will probably be gone soon, too. He could do some good shit with Abyss and RVD in TNA.

If I were CM Punk, I'd not be re-signing with the WWE, either. Sure, it may be where the money is, it may be where the fame is, but TNA is swelling up, slowly and steadily. Go there, be used correctly (they know what he is capable of this time), and help sink the WWE, because it obviously wants to be sank.

This ECW project is dead. It's got nowhere to go. Lashley could turn heel this week, reveal he is the greatest wrestler ever, with the most charisma ever, and he'd still have no one to face him. Oh wait, Balls Mahoney. Then there's no one else to face him. Balls fucking Mahoney is the best challenger for Bobby Lashley. Followed closely by The Sandman. Fuck this shit.

I'm going to order Armageddon, too. I've always intended on ordering Armageddon. As a rule of thumb, I always order shows with Paul London & Brian Kendrick on them. Why? Because they fucking deliver. Even though The Undertaker will likely shit up the place, and as much as I hate to say it Kane/MVP won't help, nor will the main event, even though it has two of my favourites in it, I just can't help but feel like London, Kendrick, Helms, Regal, Taylor and Yang deserve my money.

But because the WWE has let me down with the past two shows, I'm probably going to skip-out on New Year's Revolution and the Royal Rumble. Yes, I'm going to miss the Rumble. You know The Undertaker is going to win, or some other lame-ass shit.

More importantly, who is going to win the Rumble? The next time a World Championship is defended on PPV is when John Cena faces Umaga. They can't possibly go with Umaga vs. John Cena as the main event of WrestleMania, can they?

They've booked themselves into a wall. They're going to need to go face vs. face, which means Batista vs. The Undertaker will likely happen. Oh, joy of joys.

They should just fold ECW, turn the Rumble into a unification match, and let Heyman book until WrestleMania, so hopefully it can be saved.

Alienoid, you're dead on. This new ECW needs to go.

Van Dam needs to go to TNA. In a way, he hurt himself with the drugs. But he can be used in so many different ways, especially with the possibilities of him and Styles, Daniels, Abyss, Sabu, Angle, Christian, Rhyno. IF TNA were smart, and RVD and Sabu land in their lap, start a new division in TNA. Maybe name it the Extreme Hardcore Wrestling title or something to that effect. Maybe even copyright the Hardcore title or something.

Lashley is not a draw. I do not understand why people are always all over his nuts. I could really see Monty Brown vs Lashley taking place now.

Hey, I can add a few things to this, for once. As I am from this area, and I was at the event. $21 for my ticket.

1. The crowd was pretty full, believe it or not.
2. Rene-Stevie wasn't bad.
3. Hardy's-MNM was the best match of the night.
4. I tried to hold up a TPWW.Net sign, as well as Vastardikai is here.
5. If you saw a guy in a red Dickie's Workshirt in the crowd after the Balls-Striker match, that was me.
6. Terkay is a fucking beast.
7. Someone asked if all Khali was gonna do was stand there. I said that's the only thing he could do without fucking up.
8. During the Mike Knox & Kelly Kelly vs. Ariel & Kevin Thorne, I held up two main signs: "Spoiler: Mike Knox sucks!" and "Send Kelly to the Discoteque" (local strip club.) A 6 year old girl who was into Punk and Kelly asked me what the last word was, I wisely said "Don't worry about it, honey."
8. Ariel's thong was visible for most of the match, as she'd jump on the top rope and lean over the top rope. *yummy* Sandman coming out was worth it. I held up a sign that read "I'd buy Sandman a Beer, but it's Sunday" (Blue Laws in Augusta.)
9. The crowd was behind both RVD and Punk, their eliminations killed the crowd.
10. I was situated behind Big Show's Pod. I didn't know where the fuck Holly went. I also called that Lashley was gonna win and the Big Show would be the last man in. I held up a "Lashley fears New Jack" sign.
11. I tried to start a "I got Ripped Off" chant, but to no avail.
12. As Big Show went up the ramp, he did get cheered.

I enjoyed myself, and I had never been to a WWE event before this, so it was ok. But yeah, it was too fucking short, and I did feel ripped off.

I'd rank this as worse than the Holocaust. That's just me though.

Do you think Paul Heyman actually believes in ANYTHING he is saying in this interview??

Dammit, I love Paul. If only the story wasn't so aweful

Shit, I don't think the Bush Administration would allow this to be shown to Suspected Terrorists. I mean, there's Torture, but this was fucking murder.

Seriously, I should go to Afghanistan and put this PPV all over the Southern regions of the country and drive the Taliban so mad that they end up committing suicide or running back across the Tribal border.

-They announce two matches and pull a bait n switch with the main event.

-The only star this new brand has made gets jobbed out first, treated like a joke.

-One hoss to another hoss

-If they wanted to kill off everything ECW, hell to even kill off the brand, good job they did it.

I think Vince DELIBERATELY booked this PPV to fail, in all honesty.

I wish Natural Born Killaz would hit, then New Jack would unload a clip into WWE creative

Well it could have been worse the orignal plan was to have The Sandman come out dressed like santa with a candy cane and start caning people with tha candy cane and then offically change his name to The Sandman Clause.

Then after that they were going to bring back Jerry Lynn back and put him in a match with Rob Van Dam, a bra and panties match.

So it could have been worse...

Then again any type of Van Dam/Lynn match would have been better.

More importantly, who is going to win the Rumble? The next time a World Championship is defended on PPV is when John Cena faces Umaga. They can't possibly go with Umaga vs. John Cena as the main event of WrestleMania, can they?

I would seriously stop watching WWE.

And with Chris "Pigpen" Sabin in TNA...:shifty:

I got paid to watch this at the theatre I work at and I still felt ripped off lmao.

Just terrible.

It's a bad sign when you best match involved 4 guys who aren't on your roster

I along with Alienoid am usually optomistic about alot of what is put on TV, last night I was up cos I couldn't sleep and watched the worst PPV since the great american bash 04 (maybe 03? the one where JBL won the title over Eddie).

The opener was the best match by far.

I really didn't give a shit about any other matches till the main event, and they booked that in such a way that you felt you had to cheer for Lashley. But myself and the ECW fans didn't buy it, dear god that whole thing sucked

Lashley is a willing product of the WWE's 'doesnt matter how good they are in the ring, or on the mic because they are big' school of wrestling.

The fans booed him last night, your new face ECW champ got booed. I mean, the guy isn't even particularly marketable as a face, or a heel.

Little Voice will never be over as a face, simply as he's not even as good as Batista, and the fans just don't like him, and he won't ever be a good heel - unless he has someone doing the talking for him.

The only explanation for this is it was set up to fail. The WWE has put out a TON of crap lately, and though I didn't order it, it sounds like the worst PPV EVER, not just of recent memory. The bookers and writers HAD to know this was going to be awful and just didn't care, or were instructed to make it awful by the powers that be.

So now on WWE programming we have TWO, count em TWO, face WORLD champs that are going to be booed by a large portion of the audience.

And on top of that, it looks like the one glimmer of hope, CM Punk, has begun the phasing out process. Which figures, since not so long ago was out-popping DX at a PPV.

Is the WWE trying to FORCE people to stop watching and switch to TNA? Or just stop watching wrestling all together?

Mercury Bullet, that is a terrible theory. Plus, you didn't even see it. I wouldn't take the word of everybody around here. We're much too cynical.

I didn't see it, but I dont think I needed to. I've been a fan of CM Punk for a long time (I think Innovator introduced me to some of his matches). The way he was treated in this match is awful and WWE should be ashamed of themselves. Whether a brand is failing or not, you don't destroy the one star you've been putting over left and right. You move him to another show.

I didn't even know this was on last night, tbh. Wow. Terrible. Atleast Lashley won his second mid-card title.

I tried to watch this but straight away seeing four wrestlers who aren't even on the roster compete in the first match of an ECW ppv disgusted me. Also Sabu being chucked out of the match was a fucking joke, he could've made that match. You don't sell a PPV like that and then throw one of your main eventers out at the last minute. You just don't, unless you want to kill the company.

And whats up with them eliminating both RVD and cm punk? Lashley shouldn't be allowed to walk right in and just take the title, now the whole roster looks worse than it already did. Also that match was well overhyped, the sooner Vince retires the better I think.

And one more thing, ECW PPV's shouldn't be made to look like WWE PPV's, it made me feel sick when i saw the stage set up like it was.

I've been watching WWE PPVs since 1992 and I feel I've seen many bad ones, but I have to say that this tops the list.

I am honestly saying right now that this is the worst PPV WWE have ever put out. Not one part of this is worth watching. Not one fucking part.
