Angle claimed he and Rob Van Dam nearly had a legitimate fight backstage after RVD messed up a spot in the ring once. He said RVD got right back in his face and didn't back down from Angle, so Angle respects him. Angle claimed Van Dam once slapped Tazz and Tazz backed down.

Van Dam is a trained kickboxer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kickboxing) and martial artist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martial_arts). In 1990 he placed second in the Kalamazoo Heavyweight Toughman Contest. Van Dam is an outspoken advocate of vitamins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamins) and bodybuilding supplements (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodybuilding_supplements)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Van_Dam#_note-endorser) and attributes this to his mother's influence. Van Dam participated in amateur wrestling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_wrestling) while in high school. He is the inventor of the Van Dam Lift, a weightlifting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weightlifting) technique that involves performing a split (which he took up in his early teens) between two benches and lifting a dumbbell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dumbbell) from the floor to the waist. The lift was approved by the International All-Around Weightlifting Association in 1998, and Van Dam holds the current record, 166.5 lb (76 kg).

Angle doesn't want to piss off his only remaining supplier.

Woah, Van Dam could pretty much whip any other wrestler's butt.

I'd love to see him fuck up Goldberg.

Anyone could take Goldberg. Just put him in a headlock and he's like a turtle on it's back.

RVD is one of the only WWE guys who could legit make it in MMA IMO.

Martial Artist > Amateur Wrestler.

That is an incredibly generalising statement. What form of martial arts are you talking about? If you're going to argue that Tea Kwon Do is better than Greco Roman, I would argue you're an idiot. Especially with the emergance of MMA, you realise that nearly every single MMA fighter in the world takes wrestling, and if you go back to the days before MMA fighters took a multitude of styles and it really was elite members of a specific style fighting another specialist, you'd know that wrestling not only held it's own, but shined and because of that is the basis of shoot fighting around the world.

Lol I'm basically saying that I like Rob Van Dam more than I do Kurt Angle...

But that it doesn't matter because in the end Triple H always wins.

BJJ>Wrestling.

For the record, I've taken Ju Jutsu (Not BJJ) and I've taken wrestling, and If I had to choose one, I'd choose Ju Jutsu. Hands down. I'm not saying ameteur wrestling is useless, but Ju Jutsu amd BJJ generally really are better.

For the record, most serious martial arts practitioners were preaching MMA back before there was MMA, much less before it was trendy enough for y'all to jump on the bandwagon. :D

For the record personally I'd go with Judo in the real world. Sure one on one contest Ju Justu is ok, but try doing an arm bar when there are six guys around. NOT GONNA GET YOU FAR. Might as well take Tae Kwan Do.

How is judo going to help you any better than Ju Jitsu if there's six guys around? I've read that Ju Jitsu is the basis of every martial art. Also, police and military personnel are not trained in Judo, they're trained in Ju Jitsu. I wonder why  There's a big difference between JJ and BJJ.

I have people in my Ju Jitsu class that have taken Judo and other martial arts and they can't believe how much more practical ju jitsu is. They basically wasted their time taking other stuff, from what I'm told.
