I say Goldberg.

Yeah, that was one of the only good things (wrestling-wise) about Goldberg. He had a nice looking Spear.

Nothing compares to the shittyness of Edge's, though, which is now a clothesline most of the time.

I like Edge's spear. Mind you sometimes it looks horrible but when he is actually able to dive it comes off great

However Goldberg's is the best.

Goldberg's Spear was pure madness. Awesome the way he goes through 'em.

Edge's looked good if sold decently. Sometimes does look a bit sloppy.

Batista and Lashley's = Shit.

Rhino's is pretty good, but wasn't included as it's not called a "Spear", but a "Gore".

Dorkchop

Probably Goldberg's. He's had some really sick spears.

Rhino's is a close second (It's a freaking spear).

Edge's can be good, but lately it hasn't been too consistent.

Goldberg's by a mile.

Edge's is by far the worst. Why would an "average" build of a man use the spear as a finisher?

Rhino. Some of those GORE GORE GOREs look like they could kill someone.

Yeah... that was my excuse coz I missed him out by accident. :o

Goldberg by far, his spear through the barricade proved that, and Edges spear looks alright...when done off the 20 foor ladder.

Goldberg speared Nunzio once at a Royal Rumble and knocked him halfway across the ring. I swear if Nunzio didn't shit himself he deserves some kind of medal.

I can't believe you forgot Gillberg. I'm surprised he didn't kill anyone with his spears.

By far Goldberg's. I don't think there will be anyone who can do it better than him, and the magic that he captured with that. That move really caught America's attention IMO...well those who watched wrestling at its peak.

El Fangel

Yeah I remember that Nunzio moment, I was like "oh shit", and when he sets up in the corner, you know whats going to happen.

I said Lashley, because I love how he always does the 3-point football stance before his spear. It shows that besides just wrestling, he would probably have made a DAMN FINE NFL player if he had decided to go that route.

I can do a three point stance yet never played football. So what are you saying?

El Fangel

That you would have made a great football player

Edge just isn't big enough to run to do the spear convincingly.

Batista and Lashely could have potential if they did them well, but their spears aren't put over enough.

Goldberg not only had a fantastic spear, but it was central to his gimmick. "Fear the spear" t-shirts were his major seller I believe, and a Goldberg spear was hyped and sold as the most powerful move in pro-wrestling.

What about Kamala? He had a damn fine spear.

We are talking about the long stick with a blade on the end, right? :shifty:

Goldberg has a killer spear. That one he did on Bret... then the one when he speared the ringpost... that shows he is freakin hardcore.

Gillberg spearing Triple H... that was cool.

Rhyno has an impressive one although sometimes it doesn't look like he connects all the way like Goldberg.

Lashley looks like a weak tackle.

Batista's could be more vicious if it looked like he put more effort into it.

Edge is just to small for some of those spears. Some of his do look good if he goes flying in the air like at WM22.

ClockShot
12-11-2006, 08:29 PM
Goldberg had a nasty one. But Rhino's Gore was right up there. Edge had a good one going, but lately it's been lackluster. I could care less about Lashley's.

SuperSlim
12-11-2006, 08:34 PM
Lashley's spear... or the POOOUUUNNNCCCEEEEEE UH... period.

which is more vicious?

rhino's is the best but since it is a "gore" not a spear, I am going with goldberg

Goldberg....I hate Goldberg, always had but....

70 pound guys shouldn't do the spear.
Batista sucks at life.
And Lashley...well I guess I don't have anything bad to say about him, but blah.

Goldberg

James Steele
12-22-2006, 10:53 AM
I personally think Edge is too small do use the spear as a finisher. He isn't physically imposing enough to do it. He's beaten the Big Show and Kane with the spear and it was completely unbelievable. He should go back to his version of the Flatliner or that inverted DDT that always looked sick as hell.

Kane Knight
12-22-2006, 11:21 AM
Edge is fine in terms of size for doing a spear. It's just a dumb finisher, and he does it poorly. Any higher, and it'd be an inverted Throwback.

Edge is pretty good in size, even if he's not a WWE "big man." He's as good as anyone, except for his shitty execution of it.

That's the problem. How is anybody supposed to get lost into a match when all the sudden the flopping fish attack KOs Kane or Big Show?

Kane Knight
12-22-2006, 12:46 PM
Yeah. But if he had a better spear, if he himself did it better, it'd look like a sick move still. Especially since he's quicker than most of the big guys, and the fast impact'll look nice.

A decent ecample of "Good move" vs. "Bad move" would be Cena's finisher. The F-U can look awesome when he does the sitout or slam versions, but he generally doesn't and it looks like shit. IT's the fault of the wrestler.
