OK, there was a fair number of responses to the last one of these so I guess I'll venture out and do another one. So 49 games left in the CONTAINER OF DOOM and time to pull another one out to be rated. Oh, BTW, Silent Hill ended up scoring a 2.6 out of 5 out of the people who played it while more than half of the votes have never bothered. So here's on tab for this week:
NBA Jam
Brief Game Information: Released in the arcades in the mid-90s, Midway took the sport of basketball to another level with NBA Jam's fast-paced, two-on-two play style. The focus on fun and scoring and flash rather than strategy and roster management was emphasized by it's simple controls for offense and defense and moves supplemented by a "turbo" button. The game featured digitized graphics, scene-stealing dunk animations, little bonuses to gameplay such as getting "on-fire" among others. This style carried on well into other titles such as the Tournament Edition and The NBA on NBC and even inspired Midway to branch out fast-paced style gameplay into other sports leagues such as the NHL and NFL (The Blitz series).
So on a scale of 1 to 5, how does NBA Jam score with you? Rate honestly and enthusiastically. Until next week....
