View Full Version : What are some good 360 games?

I may end up with the cash, but no idea what to look for. So what are some good titles, keeping in mind I dislike FPSes (And most shooters in general) and will likely hate those games?
I've got my eye on 99 Nights, simply because it's supposed to be Dynasty Warriors meets Kessen. Wouldn't object to a racing game, but NFS just didn't have much replay for me. I like RPGs (I know of none in the platform), adventure, flight, and so on...
Also, is the SVR for it any good?

Oblivion will keep you going for a LONG while. Grab a guide.
Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Great spy game from Tom Clancy.
NFS: Carbon is supposed to work best of the 360 from what I've been hearing.

Rainbow Six: Vegas currently has my fancy.
I play DBZ BT2 more than any 360 game right now, though.

Do the controls work? It's a pretty fast paced game.

Do the controls work? It's a pretty fast paced game.Dude, it's amzing. So fluid, fast, and intuitive. (You can choose to use the Wavebird, but the Wiimote works so well that it would be a step down.) I've had more fun playing it than any other Fighterm and it's probably because of the controlls.

Well goddamn I think I'll check it out when I snag my Wii.

The special moves take longer to do, but it makes for some good strategy. You hold down charge (Z) and Strong attack (B) to enter the move input. Then you enter the "code" for the move. Ex. Shake nunchuk twice push Wiimote forward. Ex. Move cursor out up move cursor in. That sounds like it would taker forever to do but it only takes a second. And it's much more gratifying than pushing one button.

Has a bit of Naruto-vibe with funny hand movements for specials. Not that I watch that show.

Lego Star Wars is an amazing game, although the graphics are abit blocky :shifty:

You cant go wrong with Oblivion.
Sure, its usually in first person prespective but its so ungodly addictive.
Also, there is an RPG called Enchanted Arms (Not sure if its from the same developer as Wild Warms) but I havent played it so cant really give you a thumbs up or down on it.
Also, you cant go wrong with wrestling.
I know you said you dont like FPS games much but Gears of War uses a different combat method that makes it feel action-packed and fresh throughout the course of the game.

Gears of War isn't FPS, it's a Third Person Shooter.

I've got about 30 games now. Oblivion was the first one I got with my 360, put many many hours into it, then got alot of other games quickly and kinda started neglecting it. It's amazing. Might go play it now actually.
Smackdown v Raw is half arsed developed, like alot of 360 titles, but is good fun. Needs more characters though.

99 Nights is alright, I don't know if I would recommend spending $50-$60 on it, but definitely at least a rental.. it's pretty amazing how many things you see on screen at once, and the graphics are nice, but it gets real tedious and mind numbing after the first couple of levels.
Enchanted Arms is a decent turnbased RPG, but it's really like..generic, doesn't really bring much new to the table in my opinion. Decent game though, and the RPG selection is still pretty slim on the system.
I think some amazing games are coming though, like Bioshock and Mass Effect. Those look fantastic.

BTW, I do have an XBox 360 now. Only have N3 and GoW, and I haven't really played either yet.
One of the main reasons I bumped this. That and curioisity about that Trek game.

GoW's nice but a tad overrated. I rather play Rainbow Six: Vegas, IMO.

Nothing as hyped as GoW could ever be not overrated.

Cool. Lemme know. I'm not particularly a Star Trek fan, but I like ship-to-ship combat. So as long as I'm not required to be a Trekkie to like it, I may get it.
