What?
And yeah I seriously hope Tito owns him, but I don't think it's gonna happen :(

yeah it's been kept on a downlow. He mentions it on his myspace

is Tito really dating Jenna Jameson?
The Naitch
12-19-2006, 10:47 PM
or is that old news?
McLegend
12-19-2006, 10:50 PM
Yes he really is dating Jenna Jameson and yes that is kinda old news.
It's still a great piece of news though.

I'd pick Chuck for sure... but if you look at it on paper Tito has more strengths.
That being said, Chuck has heart, can take a punch, and hits like an ox on roids.
If Tito is an idiot, and didn't learn his lesson from the last ass kicking, he will try to stand up and get his ass handed to him again. BUT, if he is smart (and he is) he will be working on his take downs, watching videos of Chucks sprawl and trying to find ways to take Chuck to the ground.
I think we'll know who will win within the first round. If Tito tries 4 or 5 times to take Chuck down and gets rejected, he's hot headed and he'll stand up round two... and I really don't think that will be good for him. He is strong, he hits hard, and he moves well... but we have already seen what happens when Chuck gets Tito against the fence. His punchs were like homing missles, landing between every gap that gave him access to Titos face and body.

I want Tito to win, but stats wise, Chuck has such a better stand up game it's not even funny. So long as Chuck isn't taken down by Tito (which frankly with Chuck's knock out ability it would be very risky for Ortiz to go for take downs) I think Liddell is gonna win. I predict either a 3rd or 4th round knock out.
HOWEVER, I am really pulling for Ortiz. And so long as Ortiz has worked on his stand up enough to be able to knock Chuck back enough to get into position to get him on the ground, Ortiz has a real chance to pulling this out and winning back his title.

Tito is too drained from having sex with Jenna that he will DROP THE BALL on this one
Iceman wins by KO in the FIRST ROUND

I will laugh if Tito gets KO'd in the 1st. But then I'll get really mad I paid for it.

If Tito wins, Couture said he'd come out of retirement to whip him again.
As much as I'd like to see that, lets go Chuck
Kris P Lettus
12-26-2006, 03:45 PM
Liddell by KO late in the first or earily in the second.. Tito will try to shoot the whole time because he does not want to stand up with Chuck.. Chuck will defend the take downs and after feeling him out for awhile, Chuck will catch him with an over hand right while Tito is shooting.. We can ask Ortiz how the lighting is because he will end up on his back..
Ice Princess can kiss his career good bye after this.
Seriously doubt it.. Even if he loses, he is still one of the best fighters in America today.. Also with Rampage coming there's a marquee rematch right there..
Don't we have an avatar bet on this fight??
Who eles is fighting?? I'm getting the PPV and heard that Forrest Griffen, Micheal Bisbane and a few others will be there.. Is Matt Serra fighting Anderson Silva??
I need to go look at the fight card..
TITO FUCKING ORTIZ~!
If Tito wins, Couture said he'd come out of retirement to whip him again.
I don't think Couture could take Ortiz now.

I agree with every pick except the first, being that I have called Chuck Liddell since the fight was announced, so I will pick my decision with him. Dont need to state why, was already mentioned a lot of times.
And baring a early knockout, I see the Griffin and Jardine match being the most exciting of the night. Both of those guys always come in great shape and are ready to fight. Hopefully, it will be a three round war, I would rather watch that and have it go to decision then see one or the other win definetively. Probably just me though :( .

The more I see of Keith Jardine, the more I like him. But I see Forrest winning this via decision in a slugfest

Tito should complain. Chuck maybe landed 2 or 3 punches when it was stopped. Nearly all of them hit Tito's forearms. Premature stoppage in my eyes. Especially since Tito clearly weathered the storm in the first and came back to win the second.
Also, Dave Meltzer must be insane if he thinks the first round was a 10-8 and that Chuck won the second round. A 10-8 round is when you are on the verge of ending the fight and being that Tito took the fight back standing, how the hell could he be on the verge of losing?

Unlike wrestling, they can't copntrol how long matches last.. No match the other night went the distance so they had dead air to fill at the end.. As a paying customer, I want the whole 3 hours..
Tito ran the entire match.. We he wasn't running, he was getting destroyed by the best sprawl in the game today.. Premature or not, Tito lost..
Oh yeah don't get me wrong, Liddell did nothing wrong. I can also see a debate for and against the stoppage. My own opinion was that it was premature but Tito himself didn't seem pissed about it. Liddell is the man at 205lbs right now.

To sum it up, Tito was not defending himself in a manner that would of allowed it to continue, he says it himself in a post fight press conference on ufc.com that he did not see where the punches were coming in the third round.
A clear knockdown in the first round would probably be why they would of called it 10-8, even though it was ruled a 10-9 by the official judges.
And Tito didnt "win" anything in his fight. He had 1 takedown, and yes that could technically mean that he won on points in the 2nd round, but its a stretch to even say that he "took the fight back standing" whenver Tito never once had Chuck in any position to win the fight standing or otherwise. Chuck had constant control of the fight, and had Tito running away from him constantly.
Their was actually a point in the fight where Tito backed into the cage in the first round after getting beaten and it was obvious that he didnt even know where the cage was when he backed into it.
Chuck beat his ass. Tito knew he got his ass handed to him, and said it multiple times in his interview.
The ppv was awesome though.

So say Rampage out of the blue comes out and loses his next fight. Who the heck would fight Liddell?
I am not sure if Rampage's next fight is even for #1 contender. I realize that he is a big name they are bringing in, but Chuck will fight again before he fights Rampage. If Rampage wins his first fight, then they will probably put him in for a #1 contender's fight after that.
Before people say anything, yes I know UFC has brought people in and had them fight for the belt in their 2nd fight (Nate Quarry, Anderson Silva), but you would think that out of respect to the other up and comer 205's (Rashad Evans, not so much Forrest since he lost, Keith Jardine) would get their chance before he would because they have had more fights in the UFC.
I guess it just comes down to whether or not they want to interest MMA fans, or UFC fans. Like they said Saturday, MMA fans know Rampage, but UFC fans dont. So they are going to want to expose him to the fans before they throw him in their. Its all about the $$.
Now, if he goes in to his fight with Beastman and just mops the floor with him (i.e. Anderson Silva and Chris Leben), he will probably get his shot his next fight.

It would be funnier if the ref hadn't stop it, and Liddell continued to dominate Ortiz..
I knew people would bust out excuses as soon as the fight was over..
-Tito ran the ENTIRE fight
-Tito's only offense was shooting, which was defended all but ONE time
-Liddell rocked him, then continued to be aggresive, while Tito did nothing but lay in the fetal position
Tito lost..
I mean, if he'd grabbed an ankle or try to get to his feet, you'd have an arguement but he didn't.. He luckily blocked a few punches dureing the final flurry but you could tell he was through.. He seemed spent and looked like he was happy it was stopped..
Want to argue whether or not fights are stopped early, write a letter to the UFC.. The bottom line is, he was dominated and even he admitted it..

Owend the vast majority of the fight. Well he got owned for the flurry in the 1st and the 3rd when it was stopped. That's not the "vast majority" of a fight now is it? He also won the second so it was 19-19 on points going into the third. Still not owned. Was Tito defending himself? Well if you call having your arms over your face and take the majority of the shots aimed at your face on your arms then I guess he was. He took 19 punches and only 4 hit his head. And Randy Couture - the expert color announcer on the show - said right when it was stopped "it's not hurting him. He is hitting his arms mostly but he's not hurting him". I'd take Randy's word for it too considering he has taken punches from Liddell and Ortiz. And Tito also took a bigger beating in the first round in my opinion and he survived that.
You come on here making out there is zero debate that it was a early stoppage. Well people are debating it all over the net. It's simple really. Ortiz stopped 15 out of 19 punches from hitting his face and wasn't knocked unconcious and thus was intellegently defending himself. Whether he would have taken other 50 punches after it is debating but the fact is that he only took 4 punches to the head when he was on mat.

I think if it went on all that would have happened was Chuck reigning down more punches to Tito. It's better to let the fight end like that than let Tito take more unanswered punches to his head. Also the difference between the 1st and 3rd rounds was that Tito was trying to escape in the 1st, and to his credit he survived an onslaught which not a lot of guys have been able to do.

Difference is Shamrock had no defence. He actually took 5 unanswered elbows. If Ortiz took 5 of Liddell's haymakers straight to the face, I wouldn't debate the stoppage. But he didn't even take 2 straight punches to the face out of 19. FACT.
Clinging to Ortiz's cock? Blah blah blah. It's the same nonsense from you lot everytime I defend anyone. I got accused of nut hugging Dave Meltzer before and I buried his scoring of this fight. It doesn't matter that it's Tito Ortiz. It could have been Liddell taking the punches from Ortiz and my arguement would still be the same. Randy Couture had the same arguement I did and yet he is hardly Tito's best pal. I guess he wants Tito's cock too right?
The point is the stoppage was debatable. I'm still not saying it was wrong and I do agree that it's better to stop it early than stop it too late. But it's still debatable. Anyone denying it was arguable is a fucking idiot.

Nothing any of us say on internet forums does anything. That's why we do it.
How true.
I look at it this way though. Say they let Chuck beat on him for the last minute and seconds of the fight as he is in the fetal position. Before they got down their, Tito was starting to show signs of fatigue from being hit. Any man would of started to show signs of fatigue after being hit. A punch to the temple, and thats where Chuck got him in the first with his left, really disorients a person. Both of the men started to show signs of fatigue in the 3rd round. I figure if it went to the 4th anyway, both of them would of been spent. Chuck for swinging as much as he did, and Tito for taking the onslaught, which I will agree it was not much for Chuck standard's, but he was still getting hit more then any man would like to.
I rewatched it, and it seems right as the ref is moving in to stop it, Tito starts to get off his back, but I dont think he is getting off his back because he has the energy to do so. I think he see's the ref coming in to stop it and out of desperation, rolled his shoulder over so as to look like he was getting up. I think if they wouldnt of stopped it and had allowed him to roll over and go for a leg, it might of ended up worse. At least while he is in the fetal position he had the ability to cover. If he would of rolled it would of looked like Gracie and Hughes.
Just my opinion. Chuck is the only fighter I have let into my heart and begun to love. Its hard for me to have a favorite in UFC because of how you cant predict anything that happens. So if I see my favorite lose, I know I wont like it. If you happen to like Ortiz and saw him lose, especially the way he did, you obviously arent going to agree with the decision. I just think it was the right thing to do.
It seems like the ref's have been stopping a lot of fights that could be considered premature, but I think its because the UFC wants to garner the attention of the fans that still think the sport is brutal (or more brutal) then boxing is or any other contact sport. You see, to MMA fans, all these stoppages look premature because we have enough knowledge of the sport to understand when a person is really in a predicament that could cause themselves bodily harm, and to a new fan of the UFC, not stopping the fight after a dude gets hit solidly in the face/arms/upper body area for more then a minute straight, well that looks bad on a sport that is supposed to be doing everything in their power to prove to the haters of MMA that it is not vicious or brutal and that the sport is vastly misunderstood.
That being said, no ref should ever do the main event but Big John. I think John McCarthy is the only ref (besides Herb Dean) that lets it go until he really needs to jump in. I never question Big John..he is 2 feet away from the fighters, not me. He hears the groans, gurgle's, and muffled cries of the fighters that none of us get to hear. So thats something that I always remember going into the fight. These ref's have been calling fights for years, and years before this sport became what it is today.
The asian/italian ref is whom I think stops it prematurely often. Mario Yamasake, I think his name is. Whenever I see him officiating a match, I know unless a fighter finish's it, that I am probably not going to agree with what is going to happen.
