View Full Version : This week's Raw (3 hour episode) was easily the best Raw in forever

Raw was off the charts in every way possible. The way HHH and HBK sold the chairshots was amazing.

Discuss what you think was good about RAW this week

This has been the first RAW I sat and watched all the way through...and I have to say I was shocked at how terrible it was. If this is truely the best RAW in recent weeks, I am not only glad I havn't been watching that much, but I might have to reconsider bothering to tune in for a year or so...

:y:

What did we get here? An extra dose of Cena? Carlito/Masters? More DX? The only thing on RAW worth watching in my opinion is the developing feud with Nitro and Jeff Hardy. Hell, even the Cryme tyme segment (and I like them a lot) was boring and derivative in my opinion.

I didn't think Raw was terrible, although it wasn't great (apart from the last 5 minutes). Somewhere between 'meh' and 'mediocre'.

Too much Cena, I mean, fucks sake, 2 FULL matches on the card? Yawn. Although it's always funny to hear Edge of all people getting cheered over Cena's boos.

The battle royal was the ultimate in all cluster fucks. There generally was people walking around doing nothing, and it was horribly noticable. When Simmons walked through a crowd of wrestlers to speak to the ref outside the ring, that had me laughing. The Brooklyn bloody Brawler? DAMN!

Cena vs Edge was one of their better matches, but the ending was as obvious as it got.

One positive thing to come out of this weeks Raw was my new found liking for Randy Orton. I normally hate the guy, but he was pretty good this week. I'm sure I'll feel better as the week goes on.

The George Bush segment was funny for about the first 5 minutes, I thought for a second it was him as he came out. Great lookilikey, poor impressionist. Then the segment completely peetered out at the end.

The Carlito/Masters feud had even less time this week. 3 hours and they couldn't give 20 minutes to an upper mid card feud? No, we need a pointless Kevin Federline segment in which he says everything that he already has.

The final match was great after Cena and Umagie had left. Those conchairtos on the table were great, and the looks of shock on the crowds faces - funny. Finally the R-RKO/DX feud has stepped up a gear.

A question tho:-

Who was the Russian guy that spoke for a while? Never heard of him.

It had a nice finish, but the rest sucked ass. I fast forwarded through most of it but stopped when I thought I saw something worth interest. The George Bush segment was in poor taste, and had as much humor in it as a bad SNL skit. Yeah. We get it. He's hanging out with black guys. Ha. Ha. I fast forwarded after about 30 seconds of him saying exactly what I thought he would say. The only thing worth mentioning about the Russian guy is that the sheep are so well trained, they booed the guy while he was saying how wonderful the United States is.

The battle royale was pretty boring at some moments. I was practically shouting at the tv to eliminate some jobbers. The only entertainment I gleaned from the entire match was cheering on Murdoch, who made it to the top ten :D

Rather than watching the Edge/ Cena match, I opted to have a root canal.

Watching DX get their brains bashed in was pretty entertaining. As old as the concept may seem, Raw needs a heel comentator again. The two sniveling grandmas crying crocodile tears over HHH's body was about as annoying as it gets.

IMO the Cena/Edge match was pretty good.

Cena/Edge and the 3 on 2 handicap matches were very good matches for RAW. Kind of annoying we were denied Carlito/Masters because I thought if they were given 15 minutes it would've been pretty good.

Apart from that, RAW was terrible.

The best Raw of the past...god i dont know how long...the best Raw of the post-attitude era is maybe the one with the Joey Styles half-shoot...

Certainly NOT last nights raw.

Last Night's Raw was the best 3 hour episode of Raw aired this week.

Sadly, The One, it was also better than much of recent weeks. I'm borderline justnot watching it anymore, and youre probably the better for having not of late.

I saw the battle royal which was terrible. Jobber galore. Plus, it's the most fake gimmick match as it's obvious guys aren't really trying to get somebody over the ropes, and when somebody does go over they blatantly jump.

I saw the tag match after, the masterpiece segment. Luckily I had better things to do. Thank god I didn't sit through the whole thing as the first hour was boring as hell.

lol I thought Raw was atrocious last night. That's why I watched all of MNF except I tuned in during commercials.

Pretty much all I've done with Raw since MNF started.

The George Bush segment was funny for about the first 5 minutes, I thought for a second it was him as he came out. Great lookilikey, poor impressionist. Then the segment completely peetered out at the end.

Man, a boot to Bush's head on the ramp after he flipped off the crowd would have saved the whole skit! I kept waiting for it in the ring, but they did the lame ass pickpocket instead.

Speaking of Cryme Tyme, I would rather have seen them last as long in the Battle Royal instead of Cade & Murdoch. That didn't make much sense to me. Who have you been pushing/giving airtime to WWE?

I really like the Women's match and the ending of the show, but other than that I really got annoyed that the writers couldn't fill a 3 hour show to further develop any individual characters or other story lines than Cena/DX/Rated RKO. Saw way WAY too much of all them on my TV. I felt like I was stuck in the movie "Groundhog Day." No Eugene/I'm Special? No Kenny backstage pleading his case to Rated RKO that he just beat Flair? Cryme Tyme not in a match?

I was so SO disappointed in the Hardy's vs. TWGTT/Nitro match. I like how they gave them that much time, but the match just seemed to drag on. Only a few cool spots, but that was it. I would have liked to see Nitro get a little more brutal with his "revenge", especially since they are booking the NYR match as "BAW GAWD, WHAT RISK ARE THESE TWO GONNA TAKE IN A STEEL CAGE!" Some ladder work would have been nice IMO with the aid of TWGTT, only to have Cryme Tyme come out and brawl with Shelton/Haas to save the Hardy's from a worse beating...thus further developing 2 feuds with one match.

I loved Orton and Edge tonight though. The DX beatdown almost made the 3 hours worth my time.

Am I the only one who noticed the creepy black guy with the replica belt checking out Carlito's package and staring at WGTT and the Hardys when the Hardy's crashed down on WGTT in a,"Ooh, I got four half-naked and sweaty men right beneath me!" kind of way?

I thought the whole show dragged on, especially the Battle Royal and the Handicap match.

I called Edge winning the battle royal last week, Hardy should've stayed there till the end, and Ken Doane should've stayed till the end as well.

I agree that the Handicap match should've also furthered the WGTT/Cryme Tyme feud by having Cryme Tyme save the Hardys.

I liked the James/Victoria match, probably the highlight of the night for me.

The Cryme Tyme skit was poorly played off thanks to the piss poor Bush impersonation.

TWO CENA MATCHES? NEXT.

I HATE the name "Kenny Dykstra" let him be Ken Doane.

I liked the interaction between Rated RKO after Edge won the battle royal, it plants the seeds for their split. Sadly, I just see them going their seperate ways rather than Edge turning face.

Edge was being cheered last night.

Of course he won't turn face.

Also, I hope they draw out the breakup for a while. Because if they split soon, I'ma be pissed.

This past RAW was an odorless pile of shit amongst a vast wasteland of smelly shit.

It was better, but still shit.
