bring in all the new movies?

Terrible. All we tend to get are the big hyped movies. We're a city is @ 85K in population it's an isolated city, there is no city bigger or similar within 6+ hours. Movies like Apocolypto even, because Mel Gibson has been controversial, we don't get it. It's frustrating. I'd also be interested to know how many theaters, how many movie screens and your city's population(name too), that you have.

Right here.

Wanted to punch my town in the face for not getting the Protector.

Yeah. I live in a small town. We have a Cinema 6 and they didn't even have The Pursuit of Happyness playing here this week.

We don't even have the fucking #1 box office movie for this particular week playing, yet we have The Queen which I'm assuming not only has a limited amount of theater releases, but has been out for a while now.

My town is a big fan of not making sense ever.

I live in a small town, and I work at the only movie theater in the town.

We're an 8 screen. Most of the time we get the really hyped movies, but there are some we don't get. We didn't get Clerks II, The Pursuit of Happyness, and The Black Dahila.

Yet, for some reason, we get some smaller movies. Like we got Syriania and The Protector.

I live in New Jersey so I live near 89237493 movie theaters, plus we have an AMC right in my town that has like 15 screens or something. If I want to see something really obscure there's the indie theater in Montclair and a bunch in NYC.

No, I get every single movie that comes out, ever.

Got a ton of big theaters here and a lot of small indie ones that show obscure movies.

Or I can just take a short drive to NYC since every single movie is released there.

Nope, we get pretty much everything here.

I never have a problem seeing any relatively big movie that I want to see, but all the indie theatres and stuff like that are all on the other side of the world basically.

Used to live in a shitty little town that only got the big name movies. I was so pissed when Meteor man never came to my theatre, back in like 1993 or something. Rented it on video like 5 years later and was so pissed for being so pissed for not seeing such a shitty movie in the theatre.

I live in like the fifth largest metroplex in America, so for the most part I am content with the selection I have to choose from for the most part.

I live a small town (20,000 or so), and we get everything that comes out. It helps that we have three movies theatres about half an hour from each other.

That's the big thing. Having more than one theater. I mean we have only one theater, it has 6 screens but they've no competition. There was a time when there was 3 theaters. Then one merged with the other. Then a few years later that theater said they planned on building a multi screened theater just like the cineplex(6) had just finished. So they closed down their 3 screen theater and they broke ground on a new location, only to stop and say they weren't going to build afterall because there wasn't enough justification in building a second multi screened theater in this city at this time. So we went from having 3 theaters with a total of 11 screens to one theater with 6 screens. Terrible.

LOL this thread is starting to sound like a John Couger Mellencamp song.

I live in the World's most isolated capital city and we get everything, so I'm guessing where you lot live just plain sucks.

I just go to the city to catch movies I really care to catch in theaters.

It's a huge Cinemark with like 30 or 40 screens and downward sloping seats. Much better than my shitty Cinema 6. Place smells like butter and pee.

We're pretty limited over here but most of the major ones leak through.

Basically, what he said. Though I kind of get some good stuff. The Latchis nearby gets art films quite often.

The largest theatre in Maine has 12 screens. So we don't get much there.

When I'm in MA we go to this 20 screen theatre that usually shows everything, except it's $10 for a ticket.

There's quite a few theatres in San Jose and nearby towns, I don't usually have to go far to see a movie, maybe a 20 minute drive at the most.
