The list is located at..

I've posted a few roms there already that were heavily asked for in the other topic.

Post any requests here (remember they should be older games. From the 1990's and below) and I will try to find them and upload them.

I love you

The downloads keep stopping. Which site did you get them from? I'll just go there and try. :o

02-15-2004, 10:23 PM
They are from http://www.edgeemu.com but you have to donate money to download arcade ROMs. That's why I hosted them myself.

02-15-2004, 10:26 PM
Worked fine for me. Then again, I'm not a 56.

02-15-2004, 10:27 PM

I'll give it another go I guess. :-\

02-15-2004, 10:43 PM
You are the MAN, just downloaded them all except SF1.

rep 4 you

02-15-2004, 11:02 PM
WTF, i'm not getting this at all.

First, the MAME version I got sends my to dos, and brings up a .txt document. Do I have the right version? What am I doing wrong?

Also, when I download the .zip files, it's a bunch of .bin files. What do I do with these? Just extract them to the roms folder?

This thing is fu</>cking confusing.

02-15-2004, 11:02 PM
-edit- nm figured it out

02-15-2004, 11:04 PM
You put the .zips in the folder it will extract them itself but getting it to run is a different story because I haven't a clue how to.

02-15-2004, 11:30 PM
k, got it to work now. :D

02-15-2004, 11:32 PM
I think it's called "Aero Fighters" or something like that. Can you get that?

02-15-2004, 11:45 PM
I got it to work. You have to put the .zip files in the roms folder, dont extract them, The you have to go to the dos prompt to run it.

02-15-2004, 11:47 PM
as for requests...I dunno, put some of your favorites up.

02-16-2004, 03:55 AM
the area51 one wont work for me, will it for anyone else?

Already beat simpsons, tmnt, and xmen

02-16-2004, 10:41 AM
Damn, they must be shorter then I remember. :-\

02-16-2004, 11:46 AM
Area 51 doesn't work.

02-16-2004, 11:50 AM
I'll try Area 51 on mine right now...

02-16-2004, 11:51 AM
yeah it says its missing "area51.chd" and cannot run

02-16-2004, 01:05 PM
hey where is the emulatior to run these.

02-16-2004, 02:31 PM

Go to downloads and then older versions. Get the first one on the very bottom and extract it to C:\ and then from there put your roms in the rom subfolder. Then go to start > run > cmd

In the box type in cd c:\mame

it should read C:\MAME>

Then type in mame (name of game) and it will load.

02-16-2004, 06:42 PM
also, theres no hit detection for mortal kombat. :(

02-16-2004, 09:42 PM
Yeah WTF @ Mortal Kombat. I was ready to rip some heads off.

02-16-2004, 10:44 PM
It's just as bad as it was back then. Nah, but it works perfect for me.

I dunno why Area51 won't work..sorry.

Does anyone remember the game called NARC I think it was. Basically you were a marine type character and walked around shooting people and blowing shit up. Anyone know where I can find it? :?:

02-17-2004, 12:36 AM
Nevermind. Went and looked it up, and it's not it. I could have sworn it has 4 letters in the title, and it might start with a M. :-\

02-17-2004, 12:38 AM

Awesome game and even better with the invincibility cheat.

02-17-2004, 01:50 PM
grrrr its saying mame is not a recognised internal or external command, operable program or batch file

02-17-2004, 06:43 PM
At the command prompt, did you type cd c:\mame.........then mame nameofgame

02-17-2004, 06:48 PM

Its saying

mame is not a recognised internal or external command, operable program or batch file

02-17-2004, 06:55 PM
There is also a .zip you must download and unzip in the mame directory, which contains a bin folder and a manifest folder.

Do you have those two folders in your mame directory?

02-17-2004, 06:59 PM
wtf no!

02-17-2004, 06:59 PM
anyway i only wanna play wrestlefest, but there doesn't seem to be a copy :(

02-17-2004, 07:06 PM
Well that's your problem then. The needed .zip file with those two folders.

02-17-2004, 07:10 PM
where can i gets them?

02-17-2004, 07:13 PM
I forget the link, but if you have aim or something, I can send you the folders. :-\

02-17-2004, 07:18 PM
msn on njackson316@aol.com :-\

02-17-2004, 11:27 PM

It's a place with pretty much every arcade rom. The problem, I can't figure out how to download them. The link takes you to the rom that I want to download, but haven't the slightest clue of how to go about doing so.

This is where you guys come in. :'(

I don't think you can download from there. It seems to be just an info site.

02-17-2004, 11:39 PM
That's bologne. I can't find one site in english that has decent roms.

Can someone please explain to me in the easiest way how to run this sh**. I put everything where it needs to be and I did Start>RUN>CMD. Now what do I do? I want to play TNMT.

02-18-2004, 12:07 AM
Assuming you put the MAME folder directing in C:\, type cd c:\mame.

Then when you're in c:\mame, type mame nameofgame

And then you're all set.

Loose Cannon
02-18-2004, 12:12 AM
it keeps saying "The system cannot find the path specified." DAMMIT

02-18-2004, 12:13 AM
Place your Mame folder in C:\

Start > Run > "cmd"

Type "cd C:\mame" and it should then read "C:\Mame>"

Type in "mame tmnt"

Note: You must have a BIN and MANIFEST folders to work.

02-18-2004, 12:42 AM
Knights of the round is hottt

the downloads for that japanese site keep canceling halfway through though

02-18-2004, 12:50 AM
i have my folder on the desktop, hence when i open the dos prompt it starts in C:/Windows/Owner

then i type in "CD Desktop\Arcade Emulator" (thats the folder i made and extracted MAME into then type "Mame tmnt" or whatever the zip file of the game you want to play is called.

Not the roms have to be in the rom foler, not extracted.

02-18-2004, 08:01 PM
OMG, I am so close to getting this to work it's not even funny. OK I did everything that you guys said and when I put "mame simpsons" it then listed all the rom files that were needed for the game and said "Files not found." But I put the rom files and those other files in the "Roms" subfolder. WTF.

02-18-2004, 08:25 PM
Did you put the full zipped version in the "roms" folder? Do not extract them.

02-18-2004, 08:26 PM
What "other files" did you put in the "Roms" folder?

Loose Cannon
02-18-2004, 08:32 PM
There are two kinds of files you get. There are ones that end in ".rom" and there are ones that look like "J12.15C

OH and I copy and pasted the Zipped Rom Files into the "Roms" subfolder. Is that bad?

02-18-2004, 08:35 PM
No, copying them won't hurt anything. I don't know what two files you're refering to though. :( Do you have the BIN and MANIFEST folders?

Loose Cannon
02-18-2004, 08:38 PM
What are those? All I downloaded was one of the Mame 0.69 Files on that website. And whatever came with that File, that's all I got.

Loose Cannon
02-18-2004, 09:22 PM
OK, on that Mame site, I see another section called "Main Downloads" Am I suppossed to download something from out of there?

02-19-2004, 01:22 AM
You don't need to dl anything for MAME after you dl the program, at least I didn't. The roms I downloaded only had one zip file, not 2, maybe it has to do with what type of file it saves as. Download WinRar and all the .zip files will only be one file when you dl them, them put the non extracted zip file in the roms folder in mame.
