Assuming all the above to be true then I feel it neccessary to say,

1. I'm shocked, Sabu doesn't seem to be the kind of person to be rude backstage, especially as he was so apologetic (apparantly) over the drugs bust.

2. Good, at least he'll be on the 'A' show of the company and the leash will be let off him. If he doesn't perform or just doesn't care once he's there then its his fault and no-one can blame WWE for holding him back. Of course if they are, as many of us believe, holding him back then it will become apparant quite quickly.

3. Vince, if you are reading, you need to push some new talent properly, stop bringing in old famous guys to save your product. I used to be a fan of Goldberg but big power moves with punches / clotheslines aren't fun to watch. And ECW isn't anything like Goldbergs style and................ oh why bother you know what I'm saying.

4. I like Jeff Hardy and seeing him take the belt off Cena would be great. with the general feeling that WWE needs some new top guys it would be nice to see Jeff in the ME scene. I've always felt that Matt deserved a title run but having someone with a history in the WWE/F as long as him and differet could freshen things up. Its just an opinion tho...

Love to see #4 happen, except have Cena drop the belt to Trips. Trips vs. Hardy at mania would be hot. Jeff would be pwn'd.

C'mon, we all know Trips isn't losing at mania this year, reguardless of what match he's in.

He usually quotes Lords of Pain, which is among the worst news sites (Saying quite a bit right there), but is popular with a few geniuses here yet to figure out that their success rate is like 1:2 billion.

I think it's about the same success rate as the Ruse Report, which at least comes with a disclaimer that it's bullshit.

Just for whoever it was that said they don't picture Sabu being rude backstage, I can assure you, he's a dick to anyone he doesn't hang out with. Not very personable around the other guys, and just plain rude in general.

Regardless, I doubt this is why his contract would be in issue, especially if he's hung around this long. I've read there is a problem, but more with WWE's attempts to make ECW even shittier.

If Jeff Hardy got a shot at the ME it would be best executed by having him fued with Edge.

Personally I think they should have pushed him in the main event right from his return against Edge and let them fued for a while over the belt, then save Edge/Cena for Wrestlemania. Would have really been good for Jeff to get a ME push hot off his return, along with a familiar advesary in Edge (who should have been pushed as a champion post summerslam) But what are you gonna do, didn't happen and I doubt he'll be getting his day at WM of all things. His best chance at getting a main event push is winning Money in the Bank and challenging for the title sometime in the summer or fall.

Jeritron
12-24-2006, 11:25 PM
The problem with Jeff is (and I love Jeff Hardy, this is no disrepsect) but he wouldn't work too well as a ME character just because of his lack of charisma on the mic and his in-ring style.
What would be the fueds? Only way I could see him as a champion would be for a short time and winning and defending it and losing the damn belt in TLCs only.

Jeff has had some great matches and I like him a lot but he's not much of a character and what not. When push comes to shove I think most wrestling fans would rather see the guy jump off ladders and through tables and never talk.

Kane Knight
12-24-2006, 11:33 PM
HArdy's like the Beatles. None of his fans give a shit what he's saying.

He's rather limited in-ring, but what ME-er isn't? I can't say he'd draw, but when you look at who they've put on top, I'm not sure ratings could be any worse.

Mr. Nerfect
12-24-2006, 11:38 PM
If JBL has taught us anything, it's that you can never count out anyone from the main event. I can see Jeff Hardy getting there at some point, but probably not until 2008 (if he lasts that long).

I'm looking forward to his Steel Cage Match at New Year's Revolution. I see Hardy retaining, possibly with a Swanton Bomb off the top of the cage. That would be a great moment, and could give Jeff Hardy the wind beneath his wings that he needs to become a credible force.

I think Matt Hardy has more main event potential out of the brothers, though.

Jeritron
12-24-2006, 11:39 PM
I completely agree. He's as deserving as half the guys who've been on top lately. I don't think he'd draw, but a guy like Jeff Hardy would be a credible champion and get interest from marks and smarks alike as a champion, at least for a month or so. But watching his promos would probably be limited to "I've busted my ass to get to this point and I'm going to kick your ass in TLC to keep my belt. I'm going into this match like its my last" It wouldnt be able to draw past 2 ppvs.

Speaking of Hardy, is it just me or has he either bulked up and/or grown taller (lifts?)? Last Monday I swear he looked bigger compared to what he looked like a few years ago.

Jeritron

Yes but Bradshaw could talk. Matt Hardy may have more potential but when it comes to the hardy boys (which will always dominate their image), Jeff overshadows his brother Matt.

He's definitely bulked up or something. First thing I thought when I saw him in September was "did he put on a ton of weight?". I'm not sure if its muscle or he just put on weight, but he's certainly bigger. So is Matt.

It's been in the back of my mind for a few months now, but last Monday was when it really stuck out. I guess because Nitro is on the smaller side of the scale, so to speak...

Jeritron
12-24-2006, 11:53 PM
Yea Jeff used to be around Nitros size, now hes bigger. My first thought when I saw it was probably because he got off drugs.

Shadow
12-25-2006, 10:10 AM
And he's being fed regularly. That sorta helps.

As for what Jeritron said, I'm torn. He's got good points all the way accross the board. I'd love to see Jeff as the champ but I have to face facts when I'm not high. Vince would never put any strap higher than IC on him just because Jeff is, and always will be, unreliable. But to see him get the WWE championship....man would I mark out like a little bitch.

MLW

Hardy as champ > Cena as champ...And I think a lot of the fans would agree...

Shadow

Depends on your demographic really.

Jeritron
12-25-2006, 04:56 PM
I think a lot of us would agree with that. But realistically, in the eyes of the WWE (and perhaps they may even be right) Cena is more well fit to be a long term champion.

Now don't jump on me here. I hate him as much as the rest of you guys. I want Jeff to hold the belt badly and way moreso than Cena.....BUT WWE looks to Cena as a more reliable, "presentable", charismatic on the microphone and all that shit than Jeff. I don't think they're really concerned about the Smark appeal or the in-ring ability.

Thats why this year Cena has had the belt for 9 1/2 months and RVD and Edge only had it for 3 1/2 months combined. Jeff may get his day but it won't be long.

Cena as a face champ? In the long run, thats a really dumb Idea as the fans don't usually boo faces, now a heel Cena with a decent array of moves would be good.

Cena as a face champ? In the long run, thats a really dumb Idea as the fans don't usually boo faces, now a heel Cena with a decent array of moves would be good. Two things:

1) I don't think I've heard Cena boo'd in awhile

2) He could have a thousand moves and it wouldn't make him any more over (maybe the contrary actually.) No of the all time great draws had a lot of moves, so why shouild Cena? It's a weak argument with no backing.

El Fangel
12-25-2006, 06:31 PM
Its not an argument, its opinion, and Im stating that Cena needs a big heel turn, and a better moveset, all that he does I think is like shoulder block, 5 knuckle, F-U, and the STFU. I know there is more but I can't remember him doing much else.

El Fangel
12-25-2006, 06:32 PM
Also

1) If he goes, it will slowly make the shit thats called ECW die more.
2) Awesome, he may actually be used alright.
3) ...and he will be there for like 2 months
4) that would be forking awesome

I know there is more but I can't remember him doing much else. Well he does quite a bit more than that, but it's not the point. A heel turn would be good for him, but no ammount of moves are going to make him any more over. A btter move set may make you like him more (and I don't think iot would tbh [it's just something to bitch about]) but even if it does it isn't going to make the masses like him more. It's just not a factor. Hogan, The Rock, and Steve Austin. What do they all have in common? In a typical match they will use the 5-7 moves. So does John Cena.

A valid point on the limited moveset, but hell, if Cena can make the STF into a crowd pleaser, than I'm sure Jeff can come up with some things to add to his arsenal. And, to be entirely obvious about it, with the top face being booed to near hospitalization (not quite to death) for 8 of the last 12 months, it's clear the company doesn't care what the ratings - or opinions - are. Yes, this is a fact we all know rather well, but for sake of argument, I employed reiteration.
