They were in the video game WCW vs. NWO Revenge. Were they real wrestlers or what?

The One

No. Everyone in EWF and DAW were fictional characters, although their move sets and taunts were based off of popular wrestlers from around the world...

AKI/THQ Man = Mitsuharu Misawa
Jekel = Steve Williams
Hon Zo Mon = Hayabusa
etc.

I was always either Mortis or Raven when I played it. I always loved Stings entrance from the rafters, especially in battle royals when he came with a baseball bat

What about La Parka and his chair?? Awesome.

I loved being Rey Mysterio.

01-02-2007, 08:58 PM
lol I'd forgotten about La Parka and his chair :'(

I remember playing it with a friend, we did a handicap match against Ultimo, I was Kidman and he was Eddie Guerrero. We leveled Dragon in the middle of the ring and for the next five odd minutes or so with just double teamed him with ariel moves. We timed how long it took Dragon to get up and it was around 6 minutes or something ridiculas.

Haha, how annoying was it when you used to take ages to get up?

Those were the days WCW owned WWF in the video game department.

Their roster was like 60+ wasn't it?

Yeah, the roster was huge at the time, had all of WCW's main players aswell as jobbers. I remember laughing so much at Alex Wright and Disco Inferno's taunts.

I don't want to start a whole new thread for a memory from another WCW game, so I'll just post it here.

WCW vs The World
This was my favorite time losing a match. I was Jeff Jarrett, my brother with Sting. Somehow midway through the match (15 mins, I'm guessing) we said it's either going to end with their submissions. The whole room got into it, and it was... wow. He called for the death look, and it was over.

It's that look in Hogan's eyes when he lets his opponent know there's no chance of a Hogan job.

Yeah, that was definately the best WCW video game ever.

I got the system just to get that game.

And ironically, it's the only game I ever wound up having for that system too. Good times playing that game. It's seriously one of the best wrestling games I have played.

WCW/NWO Revenge was a fucking awesome game. I laughed my ass off when I saw a thread with AKI Man in the title. Memories.

It wasn't quite as good as NM64 but still awesome.

I also remember being so happy you could go up the ramp and if some one whipped you backstage you'd come running back with a weapon

plus my brother and his friend would also try to jump me. Well I chose disco and kept doing his 30 second turnbuckle taunt and they weren't able to hit me.

AKI Man

I changed the color of his outfit to black on black
and I changed his name to 'The Gimp'.

I loved that game...I still have it.

I would always change attires around too to fit current personas. For instance when Disco Inferno was trying to say he was a member of the Wolfpac I gave him an nWo red and black shirt as one of his attires

Man, I used to rent Revenge a lot, but never bought it. It really was awesome.

Maybe I'll pull out my N64 and get it on eBay for like 2 cents.

I loved Revenge. I changed everyones costume and renamed everyone. Raven was Skittles, Buff Bagwell was 1800 Collect, Eric Bischoff was MAMAMAMAMAMA(female sign)MOO! Meng was Close yo Mouth, Boy. Saturn was Uranus, and Jekel was Rodney King the 3rd :-\

Forget all the others, but they were pretty extreme. I know Sting was dressed in all pink so during battle royals it was nice to see a man dressed in pink come down from the ceiling with a baseball bat.

I loved Revenge. I was always using my gameshark to make the ring ECW and make the wrestlers ECW wrestlers. It'd take like 3 hours to put in the codes and it'd glitch up after 5 minutes of play time.

I liked NM a lot more though and I would hold PPV's of my created charecter's and tape them, I had a whole huge storyline and I'd even do interview segments where I'd play 1st and second controller, the second player just Howard Finkle standing there and getting a microphone under the ring. It's how I became the E-fed genuis I am today.

One of my favorite parts of Revenge and NM was changing attires of the wrestlers...then next time you start the game everyone's attire's been fucked up in the opening video

I've been thinking about playing this game for weeks, but my bro has my N64 at college. This game was so awesome. I loved playing Battle Royal with like 40 guys.

I loved the intro video with its block graphics, generic music theme and the whole truck/Sting thing - the driver was a white MENG.

I was either Scott Hall, Han Zo Mon or Kanyon/Mortis.

Was an awesome game but I remember when I first got it I believed my mate who told me if I did the battle royale with Dean Malenko and got a certain amount of points Ric Flair and Wrath would be playable and one night at around 10pm I set on this challange making it last as long as I could with Malenko and doing the best I could. I finished the rumble like 3-4 hours later and nothing happened.

You're thinking of the titantron videos. Yeah, those were pure genius, animated still-frames of the actual video, blurry as hell, and repetitive.

I loved NM because that's where I created my original stable of wrestlers, BK Quincy, Rich "The Plumber" Wilson (now "The Professional" Rich Wilson), Big E:Z, Punk Ryder, Caliente José, Joe Lazer, The Unknown, Chameleon, etc.

Man, those were the days. Now, I create one guy and I don't feel like making any of the others. :(

LOL, yeah, I feel the same way. With me it's probably the amount of stuff you have to do. Just too many things to do and cycle through.
