Am I the only one who sees a kind of "Edge & Christian" side to Paul London & Brian Kendrick?

It's not secret to fans of either guy that they have a sense of humour. You can tell by their ring attire and masks that they like to joke around, be idiots, etc. Am I the only one who wants to see these guys get their own WWE talk show? It would be hard to give it air-time every week on SmackDown!, but the shows where you don't have them wrestle, why not have them sit in the back and host some kind of "Wayne's World" like talk show, where they either try to slander their opponent, talk about what's going on in the world of wrestling, etc.

The WWE loves humour, and some of the fondest periods in the WWE's history have been when Edge, Christian, Kurt Angle or The Rock was implementing it into their promos.

I've often said that Paul London & Brian Kendrick are possibly the two most over guys in the WWE to never get a chance to talk. If they did, imagine how popular they could potentially get.

No doubt I will get quite a bit of shit for "wanting these two guys to be World Champions", even though I haven't mentioned anything of the sort here, I am perfectly happy with these two guys being Tag Champs, but I think they should be given a chance to show off their personalities. They have them, and I can see these two being a cross between The Hardys (in ring style) and Edge & Christian (in personality). What better combination can you have?

The WWE likes humour, they obviously like London & Kendrick (they've been Tag Champs for upwards of seven months), and they apparently want WWE.com to feature more internet shows. I dunno, just give it a zaney name like "Tea Time with Brian and Paul", give the show it's own theme song, and have them film it from a house somewhere.

OK, let's just say that heading into WrestleMania, Paul London & Brian Kendrick are feuding with The World's Greatest Tag Team. They could do a show that is "interrupted" by that woman who played Shelton Benjamin's mother, also playing Brian Kendrick's mother. They could do a skit revealing that Brian Kendrick had a twin brother, who ran away to the circus, or something, and have photos of Brian Kendrick's childhood, with Shelton Benjamin's head photoshopped onto the body of one of Brian's childhood friends.

Just stupid stuff like that, giving them personalities so when they act as bump machines, it's more likely the fans will connect with them.

Do you think it would work? Would the WWE let them do this?

Well, being able to talk WOULD be an important part of a talk show.

I see them more like the Rockers, hopefully they will both be successful after WWE ruins their team.

WWE wishes them well in their future endeavours

You can think of any good idea you want, but you're still dreaming at the end of the day

I doubt WWE will give them a significant amount of mic time. They'll just stick RAW Diva Winner 2007 with them or something and change it up every year. Or they might get a strong push, then slowly fade away. WWE has left me jaded

I'd like to see them with a diva. Is Ashley still with them?

They've already gotten about as much a push as we can expect. But that's not really the point of the thread. It's an exercise in masturbation.

Any one of us upon being hired for WWE's writing or booking teams would invariably have to be put on suicide watch when we found that, even from within, you can't make a difference.

London & Kendrick - The best of the bunch in the worst tag team 'division' the WWE has ever ever had.

I don't believe they've got any plans for them except to lose the titles to Kane & Taker when they embark on their farewell tour.

No, I was merely pointing out the type of personalities they could have. Edge & Christian/Brian & Paul, and if you read my post, it'd take on another meaning. Good try, though. ;)

Actually, the thread is an exercise in Paul London and Brian Kendrick masturbation, and a discussion about how much more they are capable of.

But yes, you are right. I am actually of the belief that the WWE does have very talented writers that can do stuff for so many people, but the politics and outline of who the WWE wants to push limits them. I mean, you could have an idea that could make the WWE millions of dollars, but if it doesn't involve "Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena or DX", no one will listen to you.

For further evidence of this, just see RVD and CM Punk are the respective zeniths of their careers (in Punk's case, thus far).

Are they even good on he stick? I don't think I've ever heard them speak a word.

That's my point. It's kind of ironic that the first time we ever saw Paul London in the WWE was when he approached Vince McMahon backstage and introduced himself.

Paul London is surprisingly nature on the stick. I don't know if he's phenominally good, but you can tell the guy can talk, and he has no problem sharing his personality with us. Brian Kendrick got a chance to talk during his run as Spanky, and if I recall people remember him pretty fondly. He did some funny shit with John Cena.

They've got personality, and it just irks me that the WWE won't let them use it.

Yeah WWE is weird like that. I bet he did something backstage to piss someone off. That is always the most correct answer

Yeah, she's still with them.

Even little things like having Paul London & Brian Kendrick come with her to the ring for Random Slut Contests. They could sit-in on commentary for them, and provide a younger voice for the women parading around.

The WWE realises how good these guys are in the ring. They've been WWE Tag Team Champions for like eight months now, and this week on SmackDown! is evidence of the trust the WWE places in these guys.

It just upsets me that the crowd is not into them. But you can tell they want to be. They get a polite pop when they come out, and the crowd generally likes them. I can't tell if they were watching their match admiring the workrate, or just bored. I won't give out spoilers, but there was a reaction that bodes well for them at the end of the match, but it was just lacking in the middle.

It's like the fans know their potential, and everyone else knows their potential. But they just lack characters for the fans to really invest themselves in.

The Naitch

It's like this

Sure you reward someone by giving them the strap, but you never really make it out to it's full potential

ie

-Jericho as Undisputed Champ
-King BookAAAAAHHHHH
-Rey as WHC
-RVD as ECW/WWE Champ was good, but it's not at the same level as his overness in 2001

They were champs, but not considered in the same leagues as The Rock's, Austins', Hogans

K sorry for going off topic there

You just give them enough to make them happy.

The same will happen to CM Punk. Just watch

Alienoid, may I ask a question? It's quite long winded.

I enjoy your little writing escapades, but recently they have gotten very far fetched. My question is this, do you honestly see them doing anything remotely good with Brian & Paul?

I'm surprised they don't give B&P a bigger push. They are (WWE) homegrown talent

Paul London approached Vince McMahon and objected to the cruiserweights being toned down, from most accounts. That probably pissed Vince off. Brian Kendrick walked out on the WWE, which may not have been taken the right way.

There are two excuses for it, I guess. It's kind of odd that the WWE lets them get over on their wrestling skills, though. I'm surprised they didn't make Spanky wrestle in a G-string or London pretend he was British as punishment, if they were really pissed off at them.

Normally I would say "no chance, Lance", but recently (this week's SmackDown! and Armageddon), I can't help but feel the WWE is trying. But they're not trying as hard as they could, if you get what I mean.

I guess they may be emulating The Rockers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but those guys never really talked, right? You also have The Hardys, who aren't known for their promo skills. I guess I just think London & Kendrick should be a bit more "talkative" then your usually high-flying duo.

I'm being dead serious here: Don't be surprised if you see your ideas on WWE television because...

Numerous occassions, WWE stole some stuff from our C-Fedding department

-Shelton stole The Cock's ARE YOU HIGH catchphrase on one episode of RAW
-Flair used The Naitch's viagra gimmick at Unforgiven 2006

and there was one recent one I can't remember
