View Full Version : So what the hell happened with Kenny wanting to join Rated RKO?

They just dropped that with no explanation at all. I thought it had some potential. What the hell?
You want an explanation from the company that dropped Triple H from a 20 foot crane and came back the next night without a scratch?

I think that he's still in the process of trying to prove himself. Or they've just dropped it all together. It could go either way.

They sent him a memo saying 'no thanks'. The producers thought it best not to mention it as it could hurt his feelings.

That's not true. He had a little band aid.

That was what like four weeks ago? You can't possibly remember that far back. Or maybe thats the WWE creative.

I'm just sick of story lines that go nowhere or are dropped with no explanation. It's like all of WWE creative have Schizophrenia. 5 year old children can write a story that has a beginning and ending for fucks sake.
5 Year Old: "See Dick Run. See Dick tear his Quad. See Dick Reveal He is Kevin Nash."
WWE Creative Genius: "WHOA, I didn't see that coming. AWESOME!"
5 Year Old: "Now your turn."
WWE Creative Genius: "See Dick Run. See Dick.............."
5 Year Old: "Where did Dick run too?"
WWE Creative Genius: "What are you talking about? Dick didn't run anywhere...stupid kid. Now buy this new Cena shirt."

You want an explanation from the company that booked "Donald Trump" vs. "Rosie O'Donnell" on Raw in a match that went longer than most PPV matches.

WWE doesn't remember anything further back than a week ago.

Well, let me try to think in WWE's logic here for a second.
Shortly after having Kenny asking to be in Rated RKO, they have him go on a winning streak against Flair. You could easily have tied that into the story line by having Kenny come back to Edge/Orton after each win and pleading his case.
BUT.....
This didn't happen. So maybe WWE dropped the story line knowing ahead of time that DX was going to be dismantled (planned "injury" to HHH :shifty: ), thus having the main purpose for Orton/Edge teaming together be over. I can see WWE breaking Rated RKO up soon, thus having no real purpose for having Kenny join or continue the story line with him trying to get in.

And same ballpark as Kenny/RKO.....WHY ISN'T EUGENE "SPECIAL" ANYMORE!

Seriously, that had as much potential for Nick Dinsmore as turning Dude Love heel did for Mick Foley. Wasted.

And if you still need an explanation after this:
Kenny is beloved by the IWC
Kenny is considered talented.
Kenny is a new guy (Blah blah blah, he's been in the business FIVE HUNDRED YEARS BAH GAWD who gives a shit).
This is WWE. Though to be fair, if it were TNA, he'd just run in, feud with Jarrett, and job to Kevin Nash.

Eugene could have been GOLD during the godawful Rosie vs. Trump segment. Just have him butt in during the initial Rosie interview with McMahon dressed up as Rosie. "But Mr. McMahon, I wanna be Rosie!" Vince and (fake) Rosie mock/laugh at Eugene and he runs out of the room pissed off.
Then later have Eugene run in the dressing room dressed as Trump while The (fake) Don was getting his hair sprayed. "But I wanna be Trump!" They would both laugh at Eugene and he would leave pissed off.
Then as they were about to start the match, Eugene could have ran out to the ring and snapped..."BUT I'M SPECIAL!" ...then kicked the shit out of both fakes and saved us from having to watch the worst match of all time.
This of course would have gotten a huge face pop, but in WWE's mind the Rosie/Trump segment was gonna go over with the crowd, so Eugene's run in would have been written in as a heel. Everyone would have come out a winner!

Eugene should have snapped on Cena. A crazed Eugene/Cena feud could have been great, and could have made Eugene a genuine contender heading into the Rumble.
Instead they insert a pointless segment that involved him running away from Khali. A deranged Eugene could have gone for him (I was hoping he would) and been destroyed. Khali walks off, the camera pans back to someone, I dunno, Carlito - and he says 'thats not cool', chuckles and walks off.
Simple feud building. Gives us a nice run-in to the Rumble for them and gives us a good match at Mania between them, I'd certainly liked to have seen that match.

No, because the following week, he would see it on the TV again and again and then cost Carlito a match with Masters and kill Torrie and Chloe at the side of the ring with a large knife. He could even wear the Scream mask. Or a Donald Trump one.

Eugene should have snapped on Cena. A crazed Eugene/Cena feud could have been great, and could have made Eugene a genuine contender heading into the Rumble.
Next week on Raw would have been perfect to start the feud off. Have a segment where Eugene is in the ring cutting a promo about "Being Special/deserving a shot at the Title, etc." Cena could then come out and make fun of Eugene and how he "ran" from Khali backstage or something.
Then during the HBK vs. Rated RKO match, Cena could (probably will) do a run in to save HBK...only to have Eugene come out and destroy Cena.
Eugene: "Being a pretend soldier isn't special, I'M SPECIAL!"
He could then help Orton/Edge severely "injure" HBK, putting him out of action for a while.

Kenny will probably join Rated-RKO several months down the road, after he's actually established as his own character, and doesn't need the rub anymore.
Come to think of it, now would have been the perfect time to turn Kenny face. I mean with Triple H gone, they logically need another babyface. Have Dykstra turned away by Rated-RKO, and then have him extend his hand to former nemesis, Shawn Michaels. Kenny and HBK as a tag team would actually make me like RAW, though, so you know it's beneath the WWE. :-\

People are acting like Edge and Orton is some kind of permenant or long term tag team or stable. They paired them up to fued with DX and get a push from it. They're Raw's 2 biggest heels, main eventers, and WWEs prodical sons. They will not remain together much longer now that DX vs Rated RKO is over or on its last legs.
Mr. Nerfect
01-11-2007, 05:21 PM
I think people are more interested in seeing the WWE give a potential star the rub, rather than a stable that holds the World Tag Team Championship for a long time.
Jeritron
01-11-2007, 05:30 PM
We've seen this over the years.
Tag Team division is a mess? Put it on a pair of big stars and have them fued with other pairings until it gets cleaned up.
They did it in late 98, again for the most part of summer and fall of 99, and then came a big boom in legitimate tag team wrestling. When those teams became individual stars and parted ways they began to do it again in Summer 2001 and in 2004.
