I have been watching some old wrestling matches in which Earl Hebner is the referee in most of them and I have been noticing things about him that I never noticed before. If I had realized this back then I could have probably predicted the winner of the matches but it would have ruined the excitement of the match.

Here is one example. In this match he does it the whole time except for the end. If you watch the video, on the third count he changes the swing of his arm but at the final 3 count of the match this is not the case.

Have any of you noticed this before too?

Yeah, always noticed this. There was sometimes a horrible pause before bringing it down for the 3 as well. The only time he didn't really do it was when he did the 'ref injured slow count'.

I wouldn't say it particularly spoiled my enjoyment of watching tho.

That's because of heff's super awesome matrix style reactions, he's milimetre's of the ground when he realises the kick out that then moves his arm to avoid the 3.

BEST REF EVER, ring the damn bell

Wow, Taker's kickout was almost as lame as Booker T's kickout against Buff Bagwell in that first WCW on SmackDOWN match way back when.

Awesome match btw. If anyone wants it I will upload it.

Yeah I was about to say, that was a FANTASTIC match. Possibly The Undertaker's best ever. In fact, maybe The Rock's too.

I'm not sure about The Rock's, I wouldn't say it was one of his best. Perhaps the Undertaker's. Though the first Hell in a Cell, some of his bouts with Foley, and his ladder match with Jeff Hardy were all great. Also his match with HHH at WM17 was great.

Agreed about Hell In A Cell vs Shawn Michaels. That is a hard one to beat. Well, then it's his second greatest match ever.

As for Rock, he's had some very entertaining matches but he's not the greatest in-ring worker of all time. I'm hard pressed to think of a better match he's been involved in, other than MAYBE some of his matches against Austin and Triple H. But even then, I'm not sure if they were superior to this masterpiece.

Yes this is a good one for the Rock. I've always been partial to his I Quit match with Mankind, but perhaps its not as good of a "match" as this is. And of course his bouts with Austin and Triple H are legendary. I guess it's really a matter or how you look at it or what one prefers.
