I've been wondering this for a while, and I know it's a stupid question. When they did the Austin being run over angle, and had Big Show win the title that night, was that all a work or was it botched? I remember hearing how Show wasn't 'supposed' to win the title and all that shit, but I can't remember for the life of me if I saw that on WWE or read it online.

So was it all a work or was it botched?

Also, on the subject of Austin, why did he wear knee braces? Was it because of his back/neck affecting them or were they a different problem?

I believe that Austin went out injured the night or weekend before the PPV, and as a substitute to the fans for not being to able to see their biggest star in the main event like they'd been promoting, they booked an unplanned title change to The Big Show instead. Kind of like what TNA did with Rhino at BFG 05.

As for the knee braces, I have no idea.

Not sure how or when Austin's knee problems occured, but I'm sure that it's not down to his neck or back problems. I think JR has mentioned before how Austin has had a history of knee problems, thus the braces, and I think Austin mentioned in his book how his knees are worn out (or something to that effect)

i think you're wrong on that one. i think its mainly due to his neck problems. i remember hearing him talk about his hyperflexity in his knees and that was due to his neck probs.

Austin wears the knee brace due to his neck injury/problems. Not sure about Big Show's title change, but his run did produce the greatest poem ever, even if it did come from Bossman *SIG*

Well if you read his book it says that he tore his acl's in college football... so yea he has history of knee problems. The neck doesnt help tho
