View Full Version : Who should get "The Ultimate Rub"?
If you had to choose from the poll above, who would you have go over The Undertaker at WrestleMania?
This isn't about whether he should or shouldn't, but out of those, if WWE were dead set on putting one over Taker at Mania, who would it be?

I dunno about the poll, but "The Ultimate Rub" sounds like some kind of gay porno extravaganza.

Actually I thought "The Ultimate Rub" was something that The Warrior was shilling.

As much as I hate Orton, and as much as WWE may have already missed the boat on this one, he's the fucking Legend Killer. Or at least he's supposed to be. If it's not him, it shouldn't be anybody.

Storyline-wise, the most logical choices would be Orton (long history) or Batista (only dude physically big enough to dominate Taker without killing his cred completely).
Business-wise, I'd go with Kennedy. The guy's got main event potential, IMO. This could be what catapults him from upper midcard to main event, without having to put a title on him just yet. Of course, WWE would probably have him feuding with Funaki 2 months later, so I guess I'll go with Orton.

Of course, I'd most like to see it go to Kennedy, you understand.

I'd like to see Kennedy do it. But you ask me this next year I probably would have a different answer.

Out of the names listed there? Edge, definately. Have Edge's streak then become "the one to beat". It'd solidify him as the top heel in the WWE, and it would allow him to then put over even younger talent.
Randy Orton is young and all, but he's already lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania, and then there was the Hell in a Cell fiasco. That would kind of lessen the impact, in my opinion. :-\
I am a huge fan of Mr. Kennedy, but I already think he's got enough upwards momentum to main event. I can actually see him main eventing this year's WrestleMania if they choose to put Taker elsewhere. He's already feuded with Undertaker, he doesn't need to again.
If I had to create a shortlist of guys to end of the streak, here's who I would limit it to (limit not being a strong word):
* Kane (gives him some dignity)
* Edge (streak vs. streak, streak wins)
* Kenny Dykstra (20 years old, 7 year veteran, go for it)
* CM Punk (establishes him as a main event player)
* Paul Burchill (monster push)
* Dan Rodimer (he's a big dude, plus Stephanie loves him)
I wouldn't object to either of those guys ending it. Rodimer's not so much a "I want it to happen" thing as a "could happen, but maybe wouldn't be so bad" suggestion.
Trish Status.
