View Full Version : Kurt Angle...
Is still the man.
Impact was great last night. I love Kurt's vicious character, Christian cut an awesome promo, Sting and Abyss and James Mitchell had a great running segment throughout the show, and AJ Styles is really getting over as a heel.

Let me sum this up:
TNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I actually agree...it was great...just great...

I prefer a goofy, healthier Kurt, but he's a good person to have on my TV.
I really enjoyed last night's Impact.

I didn't see it last night, I'll probably catch it tommorrow night like usual. I'm enjoying TNA more than WWE right now though.

Kurt was okay last night. Christian was as good on the mic as he ever is. The Sting/Abyss/James Mitchell storyline blows. And AJ is kind of getting over as a heel. There were still some pretty audible "Let's go AJ" chants last night, but for the TNA crowd it was much better than usual.

The only reason AJ is getting over is because TNA fans are marks and they buy whatever they are told.
But, yes kurt performed well on impact.

Yes, and TNA fans are the only marks out there who buy whatever they are told. Besides, your point isn't even valid. AJ heat isn't that strong yet.

TNA fans aren't the only ones who like Styles, and Styles really was, at one point, TNA's Golden Boy.
Besides, if your argument was true, they wouldn't hate JArrett.

It was enjoyable, which is what I look for in wrestling. I hope they continue this up. WWE on the other hand, are doing bad right now in my opinion. (And many others as I've been reading.)
I loved the way the TNAtards started chanting RVD when Christian mentioned that he is bringing someone in to help him with the hole Angle ting :p

Yeah, even if the show is TNADD, it was loads more interesting than that shit Raw's been spewing. Pointless things about it are the whole thing with Christy and VKM, along with AJ doing like Cena with the whole "love me or hate me, whatever" just to get over as a heel (though I was really want a AJ v. Angle match at a ppv).
Not matter what Kurt does though, he's gold. I kinda like the wacky Kurt more, but nothing wrong with Angle going insane and calling everyone a son of a bitch.

"TNADD". I'm going to have to steal that one.
Agreed that this Impact >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Raw.
Then again, someone taking a dump on TV >>>>>>>>> Raw.
What I like most about TNA is that they're not necessarily forcing the heel/face role onto certain wrestlers, leaving it in the hands of fans to decide who to cheer or to boo.
Sure, this makes a lot of the smark crowd of TNA look like TNA-Holes/TNATards but it's a hell of a lot better than the lame bullshit that forces (and pipes-in) cheers for John Cena and waters down Carlito's on-screen persona. Rated RKO's flair for cheap heat is the only thing keeping them from being cheered.
Christian Cage, as a heel, holding the NWA Title = Gold. There's no doubt he's not endearing himself to the fans, and he gets to play to his strengths.
Kurt Angle is a definite tweener...but he's done more heelish acts than others facing him. He's only being cheered out of the utmost respect and the intensity of his on-screen persona.
AJ Styles is definitely playing heel, but since he is still the "face of TNA" to so many, he gets the cheers out of respect.
While the Abyss/Steve "Sting" Borden thing smells of Russo-brand "sports entertainment", I'm glad that it's easing Sting out of the NWA title picture so that some of the younger guys who aren't getting over on their pre-TNA rep can get a shot at the title (you know Samoa Joe is going to be aiming for it, soon) -- Kurt Angle excluded but... well, he's Kurt Angle.
and no Jeff Jarrett = GOLD.
However, I also agree that the VKM/Hemme segment was crap. Thank goodness the TNA fans shat over that. It looks like they're going to try their hands at a women's division (which might be a good thing)... but interrupting a VKM "taking a dump on what's left of D-X" promo was the wrong place for it. They could have had her being interviewed by Borash or someone after their promo or something. Having to namedrop Chyna and all of that... was a flaming bowl of poo.
Surely, there's something else for Chode Dogg and Mr. Ass (who has since re-earned his former title) to do. I hope they don't continue Hemme's "feud" with VKM.

There's not enough time in an Impact broadcast to be putting some shitty women's wrestling in there. Which is ALWAYS shit in America.

Shit, just realised I haven't watched Impact in ages.
Haven't watched wrestling at all since before Christmas.
Haven't missed it one bit.

Hopefully about women's wrestling always being shit in America. Check out SHIMMER to see why this is false. The majority of it may be, but not all.

Sad thing is , I saw a couple clips from Japan, and the women wrestlers are better than anything you see on TV in America.

You make some very valid points. The Chyna name drop thing was lame. The timing was more than a little bit awkward for everyone.
But to me, as a personal opinion, I see the good in this angle outshining the bad (a bold statement, less than a week into the angle). Christy has very good charisma on the mic. Her speaking skills are top notch (especially for a woman in the world of pro wrestling, where women are mainly used for their "assets"), she has great intensity on the mic, and she really came off as someone pissed off about this situation.
The big positive that I see if Kip James' attitude toward the whole thing. It creates a very interesting and entertaining good cop/bad cop dynamic between Kip and BG, with Kip being a loud mouth sexist ass, and BG trying to keep him in line a bit.
Kip's comment that Christy should "go back to the strip club she got fired from" and his promo on her on Impact while he casually ate his meal was fantastically entertaining.
I'm sure this whole thing is going to degrade into something preposterous and stupid, but so far, I'm liking it.
On a side note, Eric Young's cameos have been another high spot. His one liners are better than anything WWE has written in months.
"Mr. Backlund. I just want you to know I voted for you in the election of 95."

I'd like to see Eric Young wrestle more and keep those comedic one liners. One thing that has to go though is the whole psuedo-Eugene shit he does when he comes out to the ring ie pointing his fingers up and down and having the crowd behind him.

Must have been a dream night, because if this many people liked it, I would have jizzed myself over it likely.
Do not compare Eric Young to Eugene. That's so fucking wrong.

I can't wait until TNA gets another hour. Fuck, give them another show. Much like RAW and SmackDown! in the good old Attitude era days, prior to the roster split. That way there may be room for Jarrett, Eric Young and a Women's Division.
I hope Christian's weapon against Angle isn't Steiner. It would make sense, but come on...something that makes me cum my pants, please. Sure, TNA is trying to shed the indy image, but Kenta fucking Kobashi would make me cum my pants. Brock fucking Lesnar would make me cum my pants. Ken fucking Shamrock would make me cum my pants. Even Sylvester fucking Terkay could give me a semi-erection. Steiner puts me to sleep, even though he's a great heel.
Do not compare Eric Young to Eugene. That's so fucking wrong.
You're right, the character is retarded enough without stating the obvious.
