And I guess Lansing has 4378456786 kids who all think they are the greatest MCs since Biggie and 2Pac.

From the nearest area, a bunch of crap emo/screamo/bullshit. But Chicago has a solid hip-hop scene (Lupe Fiasco, Rhymefest, and Common), and always has some decent rock going on.

NYC- hip-hop is most dominant, imo

Honestly we've got a pretty good club scene. Tons of good DJs, great for a hip hop head. We just had Little Brother pretty much exploded (actually used to hang with them all the time) and a ton of other up and comers. THANKFULLY, it's real hip hop. Like, genuine lyricist as opposed to the pop club bullshit.
Basically everything

It's a bit of a pain in the ass for me to drive to downtown vancouver to enjoy the music scene. But I do follow my brother's rock band around. They're nothing huge but have incredible talent.

Yeah Liverpool has given us some great bands.
Manchester the place for music in England IMO, though.

Yonkers is like 95% "hip hop" I guess.
NYC is pretty "indie".

Toledo's pretty much just got a bunch of generic pop-punk/emo/screamo/pseudo-hardcore bands that apparently think that the 'Toledo scene' is to be the next huge thing in rock music.
Not so much.
I thought Yonkers was full of Guidos and Micks:?:

Athens is a pretty huge music scene. Tons of indie bands playing all the time. It is a college town after all.

EVERY band in my area is the same as the Artic Monkeys/The Killers/Franz Ferdinand whatever... I don't mind this, but what bothers me is that half the bands (who know me anyway) say that we're a Dream Theater clone... and they're not?!
Impeccable

I that both Liverpool and Manchester have given great bands, but I live in Sheffield and can honestly say, the music scene around here at the moment is ready to BURST!

I reccomend Closer to the Start, Last Night I Nearly Died or I Let You Down (Like a Tonne Weight) but that is a matter of opinion. They are all great songs.

lol, i live in Canberra, Australia. We have maybe one venue for live music.
The only famous top artists to come out of here are sarah Blasko. I seriously can't think of any others.
i am from Melbourne originally though, and they've had some good bands come out of there

I will destroy you for that.
Windham has mostly folk, blues, and country. It's not far from Greenfield, Northampton, etc., which all feature better rock. Pear Street does rock, punk, emo, blues, folk, and even some metal acts.

A bit of everything. Rock, punk, hip-hop and dance/techno music. However, since a lot of the music is in French, it is not really well known out of Quebec. We still had bands like The Arcade Fire have some success outside of the province.

I think most of the french acts that WRSI (Northampton Radio Station) plays are out of your area. The ones I've looked up all have.

I live close to DC so the music scene there is famous for the Hardcore genre(and its derivatives) and go-go(a derivative of funk music) which is like a fusion of hip-hop and dance.

A lot of screamo type stuff, nothing really worth mentioning, aside from some good electronic acts like The Junior Boys and Manitoba/Caribou
