Seriously, wtf is with most wrestlers having long mullets? I figured it was an 80s thing, but that was 17 years ago. Is it a carny thing?

They don't have mullets, they have hippie hair. Big difference.

Probably so they could talk to each other during moves without it being noticed

Even if not intentional it helps a lot.

Can't tell you how many times I've noticed Angle calling moves out.

Speaking of which (this is completely unrelated) during the Royal Rumble Khali started to come towards Michaels and Shawn yelled out as loud as he could "GO AFTER HIM!" pointing to Orton I think. Apparently Khali wanted to get some action on Vince's second son. :shifty:

IT's widely accepted that long hair is good for hiding communication, so I doubt it's unintentional.

You may not have noticed, but wrestling doesn't seem to be very creative in terms of "look." That's why so many longhairs all look alike.

sometimes it just adds to the gimmick.could Angle or Austin work as well n terms of images if they had long hair?

Probably, most guys with long hair in real life look pretty badass.

Angle probably could have, but I seriously doubt Austin would have looked as awesome for the gimmick with his long, flowing blond hair.

As mentioned before, I'm sure hiding communication is a large factor. Aesthetically, getting blood in your hair after being busted open looks pretty bad ass.

Although conversely, it looks absurd for Ric Flair.

Yea, I don't think Austin or Angle would work as well with long hair. Especially with Angle, its the opposite of his gimmick. Or at least the gimmick that got him over. He was the elite, snobby, CLEAN CUT American hero.

Same with The Rock, his look is very important to his character. It varies from wrestler to wrestler. Chris Jericho isn't much of a "huge rock star" with actual short hair. Same with Shawn Michaels and Edge. Of course Cena's gonna have a fade. But hair changes don't effect someone like Christian, Eddie Guerrero or Big Show.
