Tomorrow, Paul London & Brian Kendrick will surpass Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith (1996-1997) as the longest reigning tag team champions since Demolition in 1989. They've been champions for 8 months and 4 days.

It's not an accomplishment, it's because no one cares about the division. Much like Helms as Cruiserweight champion. Yeah, he's held it the longest, but the title means shit.

There's a tag team and cruiserweight division?

They need to make the Tag Team Championship division either smackdown exclusive or split-brand.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Tag Division go to SD exclusively, and send the cruiserweights over to Raw and make it something.

I'd love the SmackDown! Tag Team Division to look something like this:

Heel Teams
William Regal & Dave Taylor
Deuce N' Domino
Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
Little Guido Maritato & Jamie Noble (Remember when they were cousins?)

Face Teams
Paul London & Brian Kendrick
La Resistance (I'm serious, give them Maryse...how would that be as a face act?)
Jimmy Wang Yang & Funaki (Funaki is actually a Japanese redneck in real-life, Jimmy Yang's already playing one)
Chuck Palumbo & Vito (Palumbo comes in to help Vito when Guido and Noble are giving him a hard time, he uses the "You Look So Good To Me" theme, and claims Guido never let him be himself when they were The FBI)

too many team ups of dudes who aren't doing anything better tho. I'm more a fan of a team. Or at least if its a pairup reinvent them, ala the Acolytes.

It is kinda an accomplishment... in that they didn't get broken up yet. In recent years, usually face teams (especially ones who make it as champs) break up in like two months.

Seems like the longest title reigns these days are the most meaningless.
I mean, I like JBL, but the longest title reign in the past 11 years was probably the worst.

Last "long" title reign that was actually good was Orton with the IC title.

Yes, though I would have liked to see him really have a rival since the belt wasn't needed during his fued with Foley. Personally I think they should have pushed him hard as an IC champion coming off the heels of the Foley fued, and then had him overthrow Triple H and be a heel leader of Evolution, and then capture the World Champion a year or 6 months later than he did.

They're not doing anythig particularly bad with the Smackdown! Tag Team division. Especially in contrast with RAW. At the moment, the RAW tag titles are pretty much dead while they have a decent amount of tag teams facing each other for pretty much no reason. I don't think they need to revamp the divisions with new teams though. I think more title shots for the different teams would be good though.

And then you have the Hardyz and MNM who don't belong to either brand and who knows what the heck they are doing with them...

I don't think they even know. It's like they know Nitro and Jeff should be pushed in their single careers, but they don't want to shit on Matt and Joey, and at the same time they're considering reuniting them for the tag division.

They need to make up their minds.

They should trade Mercury and Matt over to Raw and send WGTT over to Smackdown in a "trade"

Does anyone remember the days when titles other than the WWE title were booked as though they mattered?
